What's a CTA button?

A call-to-action button is usually added to a web page or video to prompt visitors to take action. If you have an offer you want to give your viewers, or you want them to complete an action, you can do so by adding a call-to-action button at the end of your videos, by specifying the link and the text anchor of the button.

What do you use it for?

Call-to-action buttons next to videos are practical for directing viewer action, such as subscribing, visiting a website, or buying a product. A button is a simple way to encourage your audience to engage further with your content or brand, helping you meet your goals more efficiently.

FAQ

How to add a call-to-action button?

Open the Tella app and either sign in or sign up. It’s free and takes a couple of clicks to get to the recorder. Once you’re ready to record, press the red button that says, “Start recording.” You can pause the recording at any time. Once your recordings are finished, go to the next step.

Once you’ve completed your recordings, edit them in the Tella editor window. You can remove any mistakes or unnecessary parts. With Tella, you can trim clips, rearrange recordings, and re-record if necessary. Tella also allows you to change the background of your recording or the layout if you decide you record yourself on the webcam as well.

When you’re done, just click “Finish,” and you’ll be redirected to the page your viewers will see if you share your recording. There, you’ll be able to share it with a link, export it, embed it, and add a call-to-action button.

What makes a good CTA button?

Strong calls-to-action, or CTAs, express that they’re getting something that’s already theirs. Rather than saying, “download our report,” say, “get your report now.” This signals that it’s already theirs. They just need to grab it. A good CTA button will be direct and clear on what they stand to get if they click that button.

What are some call-to-action examples?

Call-to-action buttons should drive viewers to do what you want them to, but not against their will. A good call-to-action will tell viewers what they stand to gain. Strong examples include calling people to “get a deal now” or “download your free X.”
