Carly
Making a tutorial, sharing a moment, or putting together a promo video? Text can boost your content and give it a polished look. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to add text to your videos in CapCut.
1. Download CapCut Desktop Video Editor (MacOS and Windows)
CapCut is available on:
Desktop: MacOS and Windows
Mobile: iPhone, iPad, and Android
Online: Use right in your browser
2. Import your video
Open CapCut and click on Import to upload your video.
Drag it onto the timeline.
3. Add text to your video
Head to the Text panel.
Here, you can choose from a variety of text styles, templates, and effects. Once you find one you like, drag it to the text timeline. You can play around with the placement and scale to get it right.
You can also change the duration by pulling the edges of the text box in the timeline.
Next, select the text box to see the customization options. You can change the style, format, font, color, spacing, transparency, and text alignment.
If you want to make your text more dynamic, you can turn it into speech with an AI character.
If you want to add animation effects, you’ll have to use the online CapCut editor - the app doesn’t have that feature.
4. Export and share
It's time to save or export your video. Pick your resolution and quality, then hit Export to save it to your device.
Wrapping up
Adding text to your videos in CapCut is straightforward. But remember, CapCut isn't your only option. You can also add text with Tella, another solid video editing tool. If you go with CapCut or Tella, adding text to your videos is a great way to make them stand out.
