Version History

A record of changes made to a design.

What is the version history in Canva?

The version history in Canva is a feature that allows users to view and revert back to previous versions of their design. This is particularly useful when multiple people are working on a design and changes are made that need to be undone. The version history shows a timeline of changes, with the ability to click on any point in the timeline to see what the design looked like at that point.

This feature is available in Canva Pro, Canva for Enterprise, Canva for Education, and Canva for Nonprofits. To access it, users simply open their design, click on the title, and then select 'See version history'. From there, they can view all previous versions of the design and restore any version they choose. This makes it easy to track changes and maintain the integrity of the original design.

How can I access the version history in Canva?

To access the version history in Canva, you first need to open the design that you want to view the history of. Once the design is open, you can find the "File" option in the menu bar at the top of the page. Click on this and a drop-down menu will appear.

In the drop-down menu, you will see an option for "Version history". Click on this and a sidebar will appear on the right side of the screen. This sidebar will display all the previous versions of your design. You can scroll through these versions and click on any of them to view them. If you want to restore a previous version of your design, simply click on the "Restore this version" button at the top of the sidebar.

Can I recover previous versions of my design in Canva?

Yes, you can recover previous versions of your design in Canva. Canva has a feature called "version history" which allows you to view and restore previous versions of your design. This feature is particularly useful if you've made changes to your design and want to revert back to an earlier version.

To access this feature, you need to open your design, click on the title, and then select "See version history". A panel will appear on the right side of the screen showing all the saved versions of your design. You can preview each version and if you find the one you want to restore, click on the "Restore this version" button. Please note that this feature is only available to Canva Pro, Canva for Enterprise, Canva for Education, and Canva for Nonprofits users.

How long does Canva keep version history?

Canva maintains a version history of your designs for up to 30 days. This means that you can access and restore any changes or edits you've made to a design within the past month. This feature is particularly useful if you've made changes to a design and want to revert back to an earlier version.

However, it's important to note that this feature is only available to Canva Pro, Canva for Enterprise, Canva for Education, and Canva for Nonprofits users. If you're using the free version of Canva, you won't have access to the version history feature.
