Group

A command to group selected clips together.

What is a group in ScreenFlow?

A group in ScreenFlow is a feature that allows users to combine multiple elements or clips into a single unit. This can include video clips, audio clips, text, images, or any other media that can be added to a ScreenFlow project. Once elements are grouped together, they can be moved, edited, or manipulated as a single entity, which can greatly simplify the editing process.

Groups in ScreenFlow can be created by selecting the desired elements and choosing the "Group" option, usually found in the right-click menu or under the "Edit" menu. This feature is particularly useful when working with complex projects, as it allows for better organization and easier management of the different elements involved. It also enables users to apply the same effects or changes to multiple elements at once, saving time and ensuring consistency across the project.

How to create a group in ScreenFlow?

Creating a group in ScreenFlow is a straightforward process. First, you need to select the clips or elements you want to group together. You can do this by clicking on the first item, then holding down the Shift key and clicking on the other items you want to include in the group. Once you have selected all the items, right-click on one of them and select "Group" from the drop-down menu.

After you've grouped the items, they will move and behave as a single unit. This can be very useful for organizing your timeline and making complex edits easier to manage. You can also ungroup items at any time by right-clicking on the group and selecting "Ungroup" from the drop-down menu. Remember, ScreenFlow will treat the group as a single clip, so any changes you make will affect all the items in the group.

How to edit a group value in ScreenFlow?

To edit a group value in ScreenFlow, you first need to select the group that you want to edit. This can be done by clicking on the group in the timeline or in the canvas. Once the group is selected, you can edit its properties in the properties pane on the right side of the screen.

The properties pane allows you to adjust various aspects of the group, such as its position, scale, rotation, and more. To edit a specific value, simply click on the value you want to change and enter the new value. You can also use the sliders to adjust the values. Once you're done editing, make sure to save your changes.

Remember, any changes you make to the group will affect all the elements within the group. If you want to edit a specific element within the group, you will need to ungroup the elements first, make your changes, and then regroup them if necessary.

How to delete a group in ScreenFlow?

To delete a group in ScreenFlow, you first need to locate the group you want to delete. Open ScreenFlow and navigate to the timeline where your groups are located. Click on the group you want to delete to select it. The group should be highlighted once it's selected.

After selecting the group, you can delete it by either right-clicking on the group and selecting 'Delete', or by simply pressing the 'Delete' key on your keyboard. Please note that deleting a group will also delete all the clips within that group. Make sure you have saved any important clips before deleting the group.
