Broadcast

A one-time email sent to a segment of your subscriber list.

What is broadcast in ConvertKit?

Broadcast in ConvertKit refers to a feature that allows users to send one-time email messages to their subscribers. These messages are not part of a sequence or automation, but are standalone emails that can be sent to all subscribers or a specific segment of subscribers. Broadcasts are typically used for time-sensitive content, announcements, or updates.

This feature is particularly useful for businesses and individuals who want to keep their audience informed about new products, services, or events. With ConvertKit's broadcast feature, users can customize their emails, track performance with analytics, and even resend broadcasts to subscribers who didn't open the initial email. It's a powerful tool for maintaining engagement and communication with an email list.

How to set up a broadcast in ConvertKit?

Setting up a broadcast in ConvertKit involves a few simple steps. First, log into your ConvertKit account and navigate to the "Broadcasts" tab on the dashboard. Click on the "+ New Broadcast" button to start creating a new broadcast. You will be prompted to select the subscribers you want to send the broadcast to. You can choose all subscribers or select specific segments or tags.

After selecting your recipients, click on the "Next Step" button to design your email. ConvertKit provides a simple editor where you can add text, images, and links to your broadcast. Once you're satisfied with your email, click on the "Next Step" button again to review your broadcast. Here, you can preview your email, check your subject line, and schedule your broadcast for sending. Once everything is set, click on the "Send Broadcast" button to send your email immediately or "Schedule Broadcast" to send it at a later time.

How to schedule a broadcast in ConvertKit?

Click on the "+ New Broadcast" button to create a new broadcast. You'll be prompted to select the subscribers you want to send the broadcast to. After selecting the subscribers, click on the "Next Step" button.

In the next step, you'll be able to compose your email. After composing your email, click on the "Next Step" button. You'll be taken to a page where you can review your email. Here, instead of clicking on the "Send Broadcast" button, click on the "Schedule Broadcast" button. A calendar will pop up, allowing you to select the date and time you want the broadcast to be sent. After selecting the date and time, click on the "Schedule Broadcast" button to finalize the scheduling.

Why is my broadcast not sending in ConvertKit?

There could be several reasons why your broadcast is not sending in ConvertKit. One common issue could be that you haven't confirmed your email address. ConvertKit requires you to confirm your email address before you can send out any broadcasts. Check your inbox for a confirmation email from ConvertKit and follow the instructions to confirm your email address.

Another possible reason could be that your broadcast is still in draft mode. Make sure you have clicked the "Send Broadcast" button to send your broadcast. If you have scheduled your broadcast for a future date, it will not send until that time. Also, ensure that you have selected a list of subscribers to send the broadcast to. If you haven't selected any subscribers, your broadcast will not be sent. Lastly, check if there are any issues with your account such as a suspension or a billing issue, as these could also prevent your broadcast from being sent.
