- Your internet upload connection is slow. Tella uploads your video while you record it, but if your upload connection cannot upload all the data by the time you have finished recording, you will have to wait before you can edit or share the video. Test your internet connection here. If the upload measurement is less than 5 Mbps this could be the reason your video is taking a while to upload.
- Your internet connection is weak or inconsistent. Wifi or 4G signal strength can vary or completely drop, and when this happens, it will take Tella more time to upload your video. If your connection goes completely offline, Tella will wait until you’re back online to continue uploading.
- Your video is extremely long. FYI, Tella isn’t made to record meetings or video games that last hours.

What if uploading has completely stopped?
If your upload connection is fast and your signal is strong, but your video has completely stopped uploading or is stuck at 0% for a long period of time, try the following steps.- Quit and restart your web browser. Does your upload make progress?
- Try recording another test video — about a minute long. Does that video upload? Does the other one make any progress?
- If neither of those things worked, do a speed test, note your upload speed, and reach out to us via email at support@tella.com (indicate your upload speed and the rough length of your video).
Mac app
If you recorded a video on the Mac app and it hasn’t uploaded yet, keep the Mac app open so that it can continue to upload in the background. Uploads only make progress while the Mac app is running. If the upload appears stuck:- Quit and restart the Mac app, then leave it open until the video finishes uploading.
- Make sure your internet connection is stable. If your signal drops, the Mac app will resume the upload once you’re back online.
- If the upload still doesn’t make progress after restarting, reach out to us at support@tella.com with a link to the recording and a screenshot of your video folder. You can find this by clicking into the Tella Mac App, going to the menu bar > Help > Open Video Folder.
