Current camera support
Tella supports recording with one camera at a time, which can be combined with screen recording. You can:- Record camera only
- Record screen only
- Record screen + camera together (picture-in-picture)
Workarounds for multiple camera angles
Use virtual camera software
- Use a third-party app: Apps like OBS Studio can combine multiple camera feeds into a single virtual camera output. Then select that virtual camera in Tella.
- Use screen recording: Open both camera feeds in separate windows on your desktop (using Photo Booth, QuickTime, or camera software), then use Tella’s screen recording to capture your entire desktop showing both feeds.
- iPhone as second camera: If you’re on a Mac, you can use your iPhone as a webcam via Continuity Camera. While you can only use one camera at a time in Tella, you can switch between your built-in webcam and iPhone camera between clips.
Use cases and recommendations
| Use Case | Recommended Approach |
|---|---|
| Face + hands/demo | Use screen recording showing your demo, with camera overlay showing your face |
| Switching between angles | Record separate clips and combine in editor |
| Two angles simultaneously | Use OBS or similar to combine feeds, then record in Tella |
