Seeing this warning in the recorder? No Sound Warning.png This shows up when we can’t detect much sound from your mic after 5 seconds or so. There are a couple of reasons for this: (1) Your external mic is muted 🔇 Some external mics have a mute button on the mic itself. Double-check your mic isn’t muted on the hardware before recording. (2) Your mic is not selected or connected 🔌 Double-check that your microphone is selected in Tella and that its hardware is connected properly. If no microphone is selected, Tella shows a banner in the recorder before you start recording — look for it in the bottom bar (web app) or extension popup (Chrome extension). (3) It’s quiet and you have a good quality mic 🎙 Good mics can block out a lot of background noise and isolate to your voice. This means it’s very quiet when you’re not speaking. If this is the case for you then you can ignore the warning. In general if you can see sound appearing on the mic icon while you speak, then your mic should be fine. Mic On.png But if when you speak there’s no indication of sound, double-check your mic based on the 3 points above. Mic Off.png
