Tella automatically transcribes your videos when you record them, but sometimes you may want to regenerate the transcript — for example, if you want to switch to a different language or if the original transcription wasn’t accurate enough.Documentation Index

How to retranscribe
- Open your video in the Tella editor
- Click the Setup tab in the sidebar
- Scroll to the Transcript language section
- Select the language you want to transcribe to from the dropdown
- Click Update
When to retranscribe
- Wrong language detected: If the auto-detected language doesn’t match what was spoken, select the correct language and update.
- Switch languages: Change the transcript language at any time by selecting a new language and clicking Update.
- Mixed languages across clips: If your video has multiple clips with different transcript languages, you’ll see a “Mixed” status. Select a single language to unify the transcript across all clips.
- Improve accuracy: If you’ve added terms to your transcript dictionary, retranscribing will apply those terms to the new transcription.
