Quick mode is the fastest way to record and share a video in Tella. Instead of landing in the editor after recording, you’re taken straight to the view page with the share link already copied to your clipboard — ready to paste into Slack, email, or a message. Use quick mode when you want to send a video in the flow of work and don’t need to trim, add zooms, or rearrange clips. Switch to multiple clips mode when you want to record in segments and edit before sharing.

Enable quick mode in the web app

  1. In Tella, click record to open the recorder.
  2. In the bottom toolbar, find the mode button on the right side. It shows either a bolt icon (quick mode) or a stack icon (multiple clips).
  3. Click the button and choose Quick mode from the dropdown.
Tella remembers your choice, so the recorder opens in the mode you last used.

Enable quick mode in the Mac app

  1. Open Tella for Mac from your dock or menu bar.
  2. On the recording setup screen, choose Quick mode from the mode selector. As on the web, the bolt icon means quick mode is on; the stack icon means you’ll record multiple clips.
  3. Pick your camera, microphone, and what to record as usual, then click the red record button.

Record and share

  1. Record your video — a single clip, no pauses needed.
  2. When you’re done, click the red stop button.
  3. Tella skips the editor and opens the view page for your video. The share link is automatically copied to your clipboard, and you’ll see a “Link copied” confirmation.
  4. Paste the link anywhere you want to share it.
Quick mode is designed for single-take recordings. If you need to record several clips and stitch them together, switch to multiple clips mode instead — see use clips.

Edit a quick-mode video later

Quick mode skips the editor, but your video is saved like any other Tella recording. Open it from your library and click edit any time you want to trim, add zooms, change layouts, or adjust subtitles. Your existing share link keeps working — edits update the video in place.

Switch back to multiple clips mode

Open the mode selector and choose Multiple clips. Tella will keep that preference until you switch it again.
