SRT vs. VTT
- SRT (SubRip) — the most widely supported subtitle format. Use this for YouTube, LinkedIn, most video editors, and social platforms.
- VTT (WebVTT) — designed for the web and HTML5 video. Use this when embedding video on a custom site or working with players that require WebVTT.
Download a subtitle file
- Open your video in the editor.
- In the top right, click Share, then click Download.
-
Under Type, select either:
- Subtitles only (.srt) — download the subtitles as an SRT file.
- Subtitles only (.vtt) — download the subtitles as a WebVTT file.

- Under Type, choose a video format.
- Under Subtitles, select SRT file. The video and the SRT file will be downloaded together.
