So welcome everyone to the Concentration Workshop.
00:05
Pretty much excited.
00:07
So you know, in the end I'll take questions if you have, or you know, you can submit me after the you know, after this workshop.
00:16
So this is a 3-class workshop and we are in class 1 now.
00:21
So let's get started.
00:23
There's a lot of content I want to cover and it's gonna be really good stuff.
00:26
So let's go dive in.
00:28
Here's the stuff.
00:30
So let's start with this beautiful quote from Vivekananda who says, "Shraddha has already vanished from our personality and this is why we are in our present state.
00:39
What makes the difference between man and man is the difference in this Shraddha and nothing else.
00:44
What makes one man great and another weak and low is Shraddha.
00:49
This Shraddha must enter into you." So that is the single most important objective that the shraddha must enter into you.
00:58
This is what we are gonna focus on, because once this enters into you, then, you know, we're gonna have a really good time.
01:08
So, what is the goal of spirituality?
01:10
Now this is very, very important.
01:11
Whatever that we are doing today, or, you know, we'll be doing in the future, is what is the goal of spirituality?
01:17
Why are we doing what we are doing today?
01:20
And this is the thing.
01:22
You know, there's this beautiful song sung by Vivekananda which goes like this- And what that means is, mind, return back home.
01:32
And this is so powerful because what we are doing here is we're gonna take a distracted mind, make it receiving mind, one-pointed mind, and drive it back to concentrated mind, which is merge it into the Atman.
01:46
And this is the goal of all spirituality.
01:48
You take any religion, any scripture, If you can drive the mind back home, return back home, and we'll see that that's the whole objective.
01:58
It is the goal of spirituality because when you do that, you get a concentrated mind.
02:03
Right now it's a distracted mind.
02:05
When you drive the mind back home, you get a concentrated mind.
02:11
And that's our goal.
02:13
Now basically, if you look at the mind, the mind is like a clay.
02:18
Okay, our our goal is that to transform it into a clay.
02:22
Right now it's like a stone, you know, if if we get into trouble, it's trouble, it's pleasure, it's pleasure, it's pain.
02:27
So the goal is when it becomes concentrated, you can literally mold it like a clay.
02:33
So you can mold it in whatever shape and form that you want.
02:37
Now just look at it, if you can mold and and you can literally make an angry face out of the mind, you can literally transform it into a calm state.
02:45
You can literally like clay, literally like clay in the beach, you can take it and transform it.
02:50
And that's what great ones have done.
02:52
And you can do it literally through practice and detachment, which is what we're gonna do.
02:58
So the goal is to return the back mind back home, which is you can mold the mind like again, think about it like, you know, right now, this moment, I want you to just visualize instead of this hardwired brain, what if you could have the mind which is soft, which you can mold like in whatever shape and form you want.
03:16
Like if you want to become like, you know, get a lot of work done, you make it into a like a very, you know, active mind.
03:23
You want to get into a calm state.
03:25
So it's very, very important.
03:26
Ramakrishna used to do that, you know, whenever he used to meet people, he used to literally in seconds transform their mind into clay and mold it into whatever shape and form he wants.
03:37
And it was incredible.
03:39
And so we can do it, and that's the goal.
03:42
So we want to keep our goal very simple.
03:44
Now I want to share with you here, Ramakrishna gave this example.
03:48
Well, let's say a potter, you know, he puts his baked and unbaked pots both into the, you know, sun to dry.
03:56
And let's say, and he says a cow comes and tramples all all the pots, both the baked and the unbaked.
04:04
So he says that the potter then comes and the baked pots, he can't do anything because it's baked and so he can't form it.
04:12
But the unbaked pots, he mixes sand, stone, and again it comes into the hand of potter and again it comes, you know, he makes another pot.
04:21
So Ramakrishna says we should be like the baked pots, that once we go from here, it's over.
04:26
We don't come back again in the hands of the potter.
04:29
Which means we don't come back again, keep on coming back and getting into all these sorts of problems.
04:34
To do that, we got to become the baked pots, which is we got to make the mind as a clay, soft, and not really like the unbaked pots, which is like even though it gets trampled, it again comes back into the hands of potter, you mix it with sand and store.
04:48
We got to make it like clay so that we just get this whole thing out once we are done with that.
04:54
So it's a very, very important thing.
04:56
mind return back home.
04:58
Very beautiful thing.
04:59
Okay, so now we know the goal.
05:01
What is the fastest way to return the mind back home?
05:04
That's the whole question, right?
05:05
What's the fastest way?
05:07
And traditionally, you know, we have been given all these scriptures and all.
05:12
So to master scriptures, whatever the secrets there are.
05:15
So that is not the fastest way to master scriptures.
05:19
The fastest way is to master the essence of the scriptures.
05:24
And just the one word, additional word, essence.
05:27
It's not to know everything about scripture and to know every nook and corner of, you know, what every great person said or what is the- it is to master the essence of scripture.
05:36
What is the essence?
05:38
And here I want to share a very quick story because this is the goal.
05:41
You see, if we go all over the place, we will not get it.
05:45
If we maintain and a goal of mastering the essence of scriptures, we'll get a lot of work done.
05:51
So I want to share a quick story of how this is so vital.
05:55
And so here's a story of there was there was a you know a sage who was reading all Vedas.
06:00
Now Vedas are the holy texts of Hinduism.
06:02
It's like it says even if you put a whole library of like 10 buildings together, you can't cover it because it covers everything about how you know creation, maintenance, destruction happens.
06:12
Every word, you know the secret of pronunciation of words.
06:15
So sage was there are 4 types of Vedas.
06:18
So he was mastering all these Vedas and like almost 60 years he was doing doing doing.
06:23
And then as he was nearing his dying time, he said, "Oh, okay, next birth, next time I'm gonna again come back and again I'm going to master the second set." So he again came back, he mastered the second set, and he again came back.
06:36
And then he said in the end of the second birth that, "No, no, no, you know, I think if I get one more, I'll be able to do that." And so in his third lifetime, he was doing all these things, and he was almost like 80 years, not even able to walk.
06:49
But still that old person said, "No, if only I get one more birth, if only I get another, you know, 50 years, I could do all this with her and then I would become great, this, that and all." And that time Indra was, you know, one of the angels of heaven, gods of heaven rather.
07:05
He came down in the form of a Brahmin and he said to the sage, he showed him 3 mountains, 3 big mountains.
07:15
And he showed it that to him and he picked up a small, you know, a little bit of mud from each of these 3 mountains and he told the sage that what you have done in your 3 births is just this, you have mastered just this tiny small mound of, you know, matter.
07:35
So much what you have done in these 3 lifetimes is just one small portion.
07:39
And he said, look at these 3 mountains.
07:42
Do you think you can, you know, go through all these 3 mountains?
07:45
What you have done in 3 lifetimes, just one small portion, just a small handful of portion.
07:51
And he said, if you go through all these 3 mountains, if you had to master, it will take you like thousands of lifetimes.
07:56
So give up this foolish task of trying to know the entire thing, scriptures, because it is a total- like, you are never gonna do that.
08:07
And so he, the the the the sage, came to his senses and he understood his folly.
08:12
Of trying to know everything.
08:14
And so Vivekananda says the hallmark of a great spiritual teacher is to share the essence of scriptures.
08:23
The essence.
08:24
And that's so very vital.
08:26
So our goal is to return back, return the mind back home.
08:30
And the way we do that is to master the essence of scriptures.
08:34
And we are gonna do it an easy way.
08:36
And to do that, there's one more story here which I want to share with you, because our goal is to transform things into in our mind because it's a play of words.
08:45
And if we can do well in our mind, we can do- so here's a story of Ganesha and Muruga.
08:49
This is a very beautiful story.
08:51
And Shiva had two beautiful sons, Ganesha, Lord Ganesh, the destroyer of obstacles, and Muruga.
08:56
And one day, Shiva gave him a fruit.
09:01
There was a fruit, and both Ganesha and Muruga started fighting like, you know, they were they were children.
09:06
So we We wanted you know they both wanted to have the full share.
09:10
So Shiva and Parvati- Parvati is a consort of Shiva- Shiva said, okay, whoever goes around the world the fastest will get this fruit.
09:21
And so, you know, Muruga, who had- you know, all gods have a sort of mascot.
09:29
So Muruga had a peacock as his mascot.
09:32
Ganesha had a rat.
09:34
It was a rat.
09:35
So Ganesha was very upset.
09:36
He said, I'm not going to win.
09:38
And he just went to a place and he sat.
09:41
And but Muruga immediately rushed off in his peacock.
09:43
He said, I'm gonna go around the world.
09:45
And he just darted off.
09:46
So Ganesha, what he did is he knew he's not gonna win it because he has a rat as a mascot.
09:52
So he sat down and he was very upset, sad face, 5 minutes.
09:56
And then he suddenly realized all the great things which his father had told him, Shiva had told him.
10:01
And then he meditated for 5 minutes.
10:06
And then after 5 minutes, he got up.
10:08
And then he did something symbolic.
10:11
He took 3 rounds of his of Shiva and Parvati, his you know his father and mother were sitting.
10:18
He made 3 rounds of them in you know 30 seconds.
10:23
And then he went to Shiva and said, I have now gone all over the world, give me the fruit.
10:27
And Shiva said, what what do you mean?
10:28
You know, you have not done anything.
10:30
Look, your brother Muruga has.
10:32
He said, no, I have gone around the world.
10:34
I've gone across you.
10:35
You are the creator of the world.
10:37
You know, you you are the master of the universe.
10:39
I've gone around you, so I've gone across the whole world.
10:42
And Shiva said, no, no, no.
10:44
Then Parvati intervened and said, no, he is what he's saying is true, that by going around you is like going across the entire world.
10:52
And they gave him the fruit.
10:54
And it's a different story that Muruga, when he returned back, he was very upset.
10:57
But the goal here is, how do we get there fastest?
11:02
And so we don't have to master the whole scriptures.
11:04
We have to know the essence.
11:05
And there are easy routes, easy paths.
11:10
And that's our goal, to do it the easy way, which is proven.
11:15
And we don't have to, you know, clutter our stuff.
11:18
So that's the headway.
11:20
All right.
11:21
So let's dive in.
11:22
First step: you are divine.
11:25
And this is gonna be so beautiful and so simple that no one really tells you that you're divine.
11:32
The fact is, that's the only truth which you and I can really say with conviction, because all other truths are transitory.
11:39
Like someone will say, this person is good, he might become, you know, wacky tomorrow, or he might be wacky today and maybe good tomorrow.
11:46
But you are divine is the only eternal thing which is the only truth, and on the top of that everything else sits.
11:54
So you are divine.
11:56
That's the first thing.
11:57
So divinity is manifested.
11:59
That's very important.
12:00
So when I say you are divine, divinity is always manifested, and manifestation is your responsibility, not someone else's.
12:10
It's your responsibility.
12:12
So when we say you are divine or I am divine, It means you have the ability to manifest your divinity.
12:20
So the first step in manifestation is to train yourself to receive divinity.
12:27
And this is the whole thing.
12:29
So to manifest divinity, you have to train yourself to receive divinity.
12:33
And that's what we are gonna do here.
12:37
Because he who knows to receive shall receive it.
12:42
That's the whole goal.
12:43
He who knows to receive shall receive it.
12:45
So the way we manifest is by training ourselves to receive.
12:49
So, and how do we receive?
12:52
So here's what it is.
12:54
This requires you to go beyond knowledge.
12:56
And now this is very important, and just want to keep it simple.
12:59
I've written here, I hope you can see that.
13:03
We have, you know, basically 3 stages, right?
13:06
We have, like, let's say for example, light.
13:08
If you see very low light, you can't see it.
13:12
Then there is light, which is medium, where you can see it.
13:15
Let's- and then there is very bright light on your face, you can't see it.
13:20
So if you see darkness and very, very bright light, they both are the same.
13:25
They both are darkness, you can't see, but one is different from another, and in in in between you have the light.
13:31
In same way, you have ignorance, which is the lowest form of darkness.
13:36
Then you have knowledge as the intermediary, and then beyond knowledge as the- so knowledge, what we call of the world and all consciousness, that is only an intermediary state.
13:48
It's not the highest.
13:49
Beyond knowledge is where the mind returns back home.
13:53
It returns, it merges with the Atman.
13:55
That is where we start receiving divinity.
14:00
So this is very, very important that we have to train ourselves to go beyond knowledge, a place, you know, where there is no knowledge, no mind.
14:12
And you have to taste that place, and we do that, you'll start receiving it.
14:16
So the 4 secret words which is needed to return the mind back home to start receiving is what we have to master, which is the essence of scriptures.
14:27
All right, ready?
14:29
Here are the 4 words, as simple as it is.
14:32
Chitta, Vritti, Samskara, Atman.
14:36
And you don't have to fret out.
14:38
There is no- it's not some big complex thing.
14:42
We are going to take each one of them very simply.
14:44
And if you know these 4, you have mastered the essence of all scriptures, all spirituality.
14:53
You're- it's called Vedanta, which means end of knowledge.
14:57
And that's a goal.
14:58
And I have the you know I've given you access to the Detachment Breakthrough Masterclass in Kajabi.
15:06
And it's very important that you go through that because all that we'll say is is is a buildup of that.
15:11
So please go.
15:12
So these are the 4 words, all right?
15:14
Simple and straightforward.
15:17
Now, and you can very quickly and easily in you know a couple of weeks do that.
15:22
So let's begin.
15:24
Now I want you, like, symbolically, if you're not obviously standing in front of a wall, is I want you to visualize that you're standing 5 feet away from a blank wall.
15:34
So you're 5 feet away from a blank wall, and, you know, make the room dark, or just visualize right now that you're 5 feet away from blank wall, the room is dark, and you're holding a torch in your hand, and the light of that torch is falling on the wall.
15:52
In the form of a shadow, the shadow which you see on the screen now.
15:57
And now watch closely that as you move, or as you get- as the light, the candle moves, you know, your shadow also moves on the wall.
16:11
Just just visualize that.
16:13
I want you to visualize you're 5 feet away and As you move or as the object or as the light moves, you know, the shadow also moves.
16:24
Now move 5 inch away to your right, visualize, and then there are 10 more people who joined you in that room and you see their shadows on the wall like you see on the screen.
16:40
Now here's the stuff.
16:43
A shadow will move only on two occasions, you see.
16:46
If the source of the light moves or if the object moves.
16:49
That's the only way the shadow moves.
16:51
So assuming the source of light in this case does not move, only the object moves.
16:56
If you move closer to the source of light, the shadow will appear bigger.
17:03
And if you move away from the light, the shadow will appear smaller.
17:08
And this is very important.
17:11
You see, if you move- and you can see that, and you you can literally test that- if you move closer to the source of light, the shadow will appear bigger, which is what we are doing.
17:20
Maybe in many of our problems of procrastination, fear, and energy, it's just like the shadows on the wall that this is happening.
17:29
So watch how big it looks.
17:31
Now move 3 inches to the left.
17:34
So what we're doing is we get- we got- went to the wall.
17:37
We saw the shadow, then we saw it moving, then we saw that if we make it closer to it, light, it starts becoming bigger.
17:45
Now move 3 inches to the left and go closer to the source of light and imagine something you're fearful about, you know, something which is you're very tense about, then sort of like other emotions put in, like something which you're laughing, you know, something like procrastination, pain, pleasure.
18:03
Watch all your emotions and see them all as a shadow which is appearing on the very- on the wall in various places on the wall.
18:14
Okay, I want you to see that.
18:15
So what we are doing here is we are seeing all the shadows on the wall and we are just practicing that.
18:22
Now, now I want to do- I want you to do something symbolic.
18:33
Now sit down and close your eyes and let's meditate.
18:36
Now here's what it is.
18:38
I want you to visualize now that you're not facing the wall.
18:42
So till this time you're facing the wall and you're seeing all the shadows and you could see all that.
18:48
Now I want you to do symbolic- something symbolic.
18:52
I want you to meditate.
18:54
I want you to close your eyes and I want you to become the wall.
18:58
Okay, you're not facing the wall, you are the wall where all the shadows are projected on your chest.
19:06
You are the wall where all the shadows are projected.
19:12
Now, when you see that, that you are the wall, now when you meditate you are the wall, you will notice that all these shadows, whatever 10 billion shadows or whatever, the wall no longer exists because you can't even see the wall.
19:26
Nor can you see or the source of light.
19:31
You see, the moment you become the wall, you can't see the wall because all you can see is all the shadows, like a billion shadows, and you can't see the source of light because the shadows are covering the source of light.
19:44
All that you can see is the billions of shadows.
19:47
That's all you are.
19:49
This is all it is, this picture.
19:52
This is all that it is.
19:53
That is, there is no wall, there is no ray of light, which is there is no Atman, no nothing, just the shadows which come.
20:02
Now all that can be experienced by the wall is the billions of shadows which it is what?
20:08
Collected.
20:09
It's very important.
20:10
All that the wall can experience is the billions of shadows collected.
20:16
And as is the nature of the shadow, so is the experience of the wall.
20:20
So if if what the wall collected was a pleasure, it would have pleasure.
20:25
If it is pain, it would pain, and all that stuff.
20:29
Now, this is very important.
20:36
The wall is separate from the shadows, but it cannot experience the detachment.
20:43
I want you to write this down.
20:44
The wall is separate from the shadows, But it cannot experience the detachment.
20:50
I'm giving this simple example so that you can visualize and recreate this instead of doing it in your mind, because it's very easy to do this because it's got nothing to do with you.
21:01
The wall is separate from the shadows, but the wall cannot- but it cannot experience the detachment because all it's doing is experiencing the shadow.
21:10
It experiences the nature of the shadows that it's collected.
21:13
Because it doesn't have the capacity to even understand.
21:17
Why?
21:17
Because it's now become the wall.
21:21
It's very, very important that the wall is separate from the shadows.
21:25
The wall does not have the insights to experience happiness when the shadow of sadness and frustration is sitting on its chest.
21:33
Why?
21:33
Because the wall is attached to the shadow.
21:39
The wall and the shadow, they are two separate things, but the wall is attached to the shadow, and so it cannot experience happiness when the shadows of sadness and frustration are sitting on its chest, even though there is this light.
21:54
Now, that wall, my dear friends, is chitta, the first thing which you have to master.
21:59
Chitta is called the mental space in which in you, which the great sages of the past saw in meditation.
22:07
So it's a mental space.
22:10
So everything that you're collecting from morning to night, all that stuff, you know, all pleasure, pain, good, bad, you know, fear, procrastination, anger, everything is coming up and sitting on that wall of chitta.
22:24
It's like the mental space, the floor of chitta, and all the shadows are being accumulated on that.
22:29
That wall is the chitta.
22:32
And it is there at the base of your spine.
22:36
And I've covered that in detail in the Detachment Breakthrough.
22:38
But that wall is chitta, which is our first- we got to know 4 things I said: chitta, vritti, samskara, and atman.
22:45
That wall is chitta.
22:47
The shadows which the chitta collects is called samskaras, which is nothing but the impressions, the cause for all the delusion.
22:56
And This is so important.
22:59
So the wall is the chitta in this example.
23:03
The shadows is called samskaras, meaning everything that you collect.
23:09
Everything that you collect.
23:10
So if you become- if you are like- if you if you experience pleasure, then you you collect 30,000 samskaras.
23:18
What I mean by that is whenever a wave rises, whenever a thought of pleasure arises and it goes away, It does not move out.
23:27
What it leaves is samskaras.
23:29
Samskaras are what happens when after you experience, after a thought rises and it moves out.
23:37
So if you experience pain, it leaves the samskaras of pain.
23:39
If you experience pleasure, it leaves.
23:41
And it gets deposited at the base of your spine, and that is what it gets deposited on the chitta.
23:48
We have to keep it very simple.
23:49
So on the chitta, is the wall and the chitta collects, it's called samskaras.
23:54
The shadows is called the samskara and the pain and pleasure with the wall experiences is called vritti.
24:00
So when you have millions of samskaras on the chitta, then from that samskaras a thought is born.
24:09
So for example, let's say you don't want to do anything, you you want to procrastinate.
24:12
Let's say you feel, I don't want to do this.
24:15
What it means is you have collected 10,000 samskaras, and at that point when you want to do the work, these out of that about 1,000 samskaras are coming to the top.
24:29
And because of that, it forms a vritti, which is nothing but a thought.
24:34
That means it appears in the form of wave, and it gives you the pain and pleasure.
24:39
It gives you like, no, you know, I I'll do it tomorrow, I can't do it.
24:44
The reason why this is important is because you got to know that all that has happened here is the chitta is the wall, the shadows is the samskaras, and because of the samskaras, the vritti is formed.
24:56
So all you got to know is a bunch of samskaras came together which you had collected somewhere in the past, and because of that you are feeling this, "Oh, I don't want to do this thing," "Oh, I am fearing this." And you all the way you've gotta know that the chitta is detached from the samskaras.
25:16
You can literally like, you know, a phone, just keep it down, this entire chitta, this entire samskara and vritti.
25:24
You've got nothing to do with it because even though you have spent like 10,000, even though you have collected 10,000 samskaras, they don't, they have got nothing to do with you because by nature the chitta and samskaras is detached.
25:38
I want you to get this point.
25:39
These are the 3 things, very simple.
25:42
So at any point of time, if you feel, let's say, the urge for not doing something, don't feel so let down and pass 1 hour, 2 hours.
25:53
Just in within a couple of minutes, and we will cover that, remember, okay, a bunch of samskaras have come together.
26:00
Which are you know which denote me you know me being lazy or whatever it is.
26:07
And then because of that, this vritti is formed and it's giving me this pain and pleasure and giving me the thought that though I can't do it or I can't do it.
26:16
And all that we got to do is just remember that, because remembering is seeing, and we're gonna cover that later.
26:21
This is very, very important, so I want to just give you a brief here.
26:25
All right.
26:26
And the light which enables the reflection of the shadows, and which is the cause of experience.
26:31
And the reason why you experience pain and pleasure is because of the light.
26:35
If the Atman was not there, you would not experience, because the wall, the shadows, the samskaras, and the vritti are dead matter.
26:45
Experience happens because the light of the Atman is goes on that samskara.
26:54
So if it's pleasure, it will give pleasure.
26:55
If it's pain, it's pain.
26:56
Because this light will just light up anything.
26:59
And that's why, just like a shadow, if whatever it is will get reflected on the wall.
27:04
And we suddenly feel, you know, I am the experiencing it.
27:09
Why?
27:09
Because we have- if you face the wall, you will see everything different.
27:14
But because you are on the other side and you have become the wall, You only see the samskaras.
27:20
Did you get that?
27:21
So these are the 4 things, and these are just the brief.
27:24
I just wanted to get started.
27:27
That the wall is the chitta, the shadows is the samskaras, the thought is the vritti which comes because of the samskaras, and the experience of pleasure and pain is because of the light which is behind the, you know, samskaras, which is behind the shadows, which we can't see because the shadows are covering the entire wall.
27:51
So that's these are the 4 things, all right.
27:54
Now, now this is very important.
27:59
The power of Maya.
28:01
Now here's the stuff.
28:02
Positioning is everything.
28:05
Now you look, we have 2 choices of positioning.
28:07
You can face the wall or you can become the wall.
28:13
When you become the wall, that's where we get into all this trouble, right?
28:17
When you're facing the wall, you can clearly see that the wall is separate from the shadow, the sh- the, you know, the samskaras.
28:26
The shadow is separate from the vritti, and the atman is separate.
28:30
So positioning is everything.
28:32
If you stand facing the wall, you see things clearly.
28:37
What do you see?
28:38
The atman is reflecting the light, right?
28:42
You see that.
28:43
You can see that clearly when you're facing the wall.
28:47
And what do you see more?
28:48
The samskaras is forming the shadow.
28:55
And what do you see?
28:55
The vritti is experiencing the pain and pleasure.
29:02
And the chitta on which all this dream is enacted.
29:05
You see it very clearly, all these four.
29:09
The atman is reflecting the light.
29:12
The samskaras are forming the shadows.
29:15
The vritti is experiencing the pain and pleasure in the form of thought.
29:21
And the chitta is the floor on which all wall on which all this dream is enacted.
29:26
And as the shadows move, the wall foolishly thinks, Vivekananda says, that it is moving.
29:33
So as our shadows are moving on the wall, we feel that this moment- whereas actually neither is the atman moving nor is the, you know, the wall moving.
29:49
Neither is the atman moving nor is the wall moving, but because the shadows are moving, we are experiencing all pleasure.
29:55
That's why Ramana Maharshi says, from where will you go and where from There is no place that you can go and there's no place that you can come because the wall and the Atman is just non-moving.
30:07
The Atman is not moving, the wall is not moving, the chitta, the samskaras in the form of shadows are moving and it is because of that we're experiencing pain and pleasure because of the light which the is coming from there.
30:20
The chitta is where the dream is being enacted.
30:23
Did you get it?
30:26
Now, the atman is detached from the chitta, and you can see that when you're facing the wall.
30:34
The chitta is detached from the samskaras.
30:37
The experience of pain and pleasure on chitta is a cause for ignorance of being attached to the samskaras, because we do not understand the wall and the atman does not move.
30:50
It's just the shadows are moving and the shadows are collected through ignorance.
30:55
And whenever shadows are collected, it will move.
30:57
And as it moves, the wall thinks it's moving.
31:01
And so what is very important is positioning is important.
31:05
When you are facing the wall, when you are positioned in the Atman, which is what we'll cover, you will immediately see that the chitta, the wall, is detached from the samskaras.
31:15
And so it's not a big deal.
31:17
it's just come on the top.
31:18
Okay, that's it, and we'll see what to do with that.
31:23
But for this moment, I just want you to know these 4 things: the chitta, the samskara, the atman.
31:28
And and I want you to, you know, I'll give you there's a recording of this call as well as the the the the PDF of this.
31:34
I'll give it to you.
31:36
But this is so strong fundamentally, I want you to, you know, just drive into you, just just sort of like pierce this into your psyche that if you get this, you can open up like a whole- you know, it will become so simple, all learning what we are going to do that.
32:00
Okay, now let me just drink some water.
32:07
If you become the wall- so first thing is we are facing the wall.
32:10
If you become the wall everything gets blinded.
32:15
You see, if you become the wall, everything gets blinded because all you see is the samskaras that keep moving on the surface of the chitta.
32:24
That's all you see.
32:28
And as the samskaras move, we foolishly think the wall is moving.
32:32
From birth to death, it's only the samskaras which is moving.
32:35
There is no movement in the wall and the chitta, in in the in the wall and the atman.
32:40
The only two variables are the samskaras and the vritti, which is because of which we are experiencing.
32:47
You see, this is exactly what is happening throughout from birth to death, and in between we may get procrastination, let's say.
32:54
So a bunch of procrastination samskaras come on and they cause havoc to us, and we don't have to freak out because the wall is separate from the samskaras.
33:04
It is a transcendental knowledge immediately that, Also the bunch of these shadows have come and it is forming the thought and then we think, "Oh no, no, no, you know, I have—" You are not the shadow.
33:18
You are completely separate.
33:19
It's like an instant detachment you got to experience.
33:22
The name of the game is detachment.
33:27
And we are gonna cover a lot of stuff, but I want you to know at this point that the wall and the shadow is separate.
33:36
This is so very important.
33:38
I want you to experience it right now that all the shadows from today, like morning to evening, whatever, all the stuff, it is all these things which are moving, which you brought forward, which you had collected, and which does not represent you.
33:55
And even if you had a billion samskaras of anything, all you got to know is because of that that a thought is coming up.
34:01
Vritti is coming because of that I'm experiencing it.
34:03
But I can at this point be completely detached, becoming totally quiet, which we'll cover in the next class.
34:10
And that will give me tremendous power because all I'll say is, okay, I'm not gonna be fooled by this thing.
34:17
I'm not gonna be fooled by this moment of the shadows.
34:21
Can you see this, please?
34:24
Can you see the power of this?
34:26
And you know, you can see the recording again and again.
34:28
But this is so powerful.
34:29
I took a lot of time to get this picture.
34:30
This moving GIF is really So this is very, very important, all right, that don't get fooled.
34:39
Experience instant detachment and know that you are the Atman, you are divine, and it is just the shadows which are giving you all this trouble.
34:50
Now the Atman and chitta does not move an inch.
34:56
You see, here is this, the base is the vritti I just draw, and this is the samskaras, all that shadow, and this is the vritti which is just forms.
35:05
And now here's the power.
35:08
It is the samskaras that dance and form vrittis, which appear as thought, and we get in trouble.
35:13
So the first step is to position yourself facing the wall, not become the wall.
35:17
You have to position yourself in the Atman because you are divine.
35:22
That's what we began.
35:25
Did you get what I'm saying here?
35:26
This is the basic fundamental thing.
35:29
I wanted you to, you know, drive it inside of you.
35:32
Now, here's a simple thing before we proceed, a simple tip.
35:40
The first step is to know that the chitta is detached from the samskaras you have collected so far.
35:47
This is so very important that you don't have to just just see that video and I say I'll give you the video that the shadows moving, that you don't have to own the shadows.
36:00
You don't have to own the shadows.
36:02
I mean, it is it may be true that the shadows you have collected, but you don't have to own it because it doesn't represent anything.
36:11
It's just like going into a dark room and saying, "Oh, the room is dark, so what the hell, I know how to bring in the light." Because the moment you remember it, you're bringing in the light, which is detachment.
36:21
So the first step is to know that the chitta is detached from the samskaras you've collected so far.
36:25
You don't have to carry this.
36:27
In your head and suffer.
36:30
If you meditate on the samskaras, you see these two, three, four things, okay, the atman, the wall, the chitta, and then the wall and the atman is not moving and the samskaras are only moving, the shadows keep on moving like one after the other, and you see it very clearly.
36:43
If you meditate on that, then you will know that all these things, why it's happening.
36:48
And you can be instantly detached, that's the whole power.
36:51
And when you become detached, what happens?
36:53
You become very quiet, a power rises in you.
36:56
A power rises in you.
36:59
And here's the stuff.
37:04
You know, you have complete power to stop the vritti from being formed.
37:12
You know, just like this.
37:14
All what is happening is a cluster of samskaras have come to the top, like procrastination, fear, low energy, whatever, like the shadows.
37:23
And you feel, I'm dead, I'm gone.
37:26
No, you you see, detachment is power.
37:29
This is knowledge that there are only 4 elements in you, in me, in anyone else.
37:35
And all we got to do is we got to get the bunch of samskaras which we want.
37:40
So if you have if you have experienced procrastination, there are 2 steps we will cover.
37:45
One is you got to destroy the samskaras and the second through detachment and the second is you got to form about 500,000 of this needed samskaras, in this case being active.
37:58
So here's the stuff.
38:00
You have complete power to stop the vritti from being formed.
38:06
So this is knowledge.
38:09
You may have the samskaras, and the samskaras may automatically form the vritti, a thought, without your knowledge, but you have the complete power to stop the vritti from being formed.
38:20
This power comes through the power of detachment, knowing that chitta is separate from samskaras.
38:26
This is so vital and I want you to get this.
38:29
You have complete power- I'm gonna show you how through a diagram.
38:33
You have complete power to stop the vritti from being formed.
38:37
And this power comes through the power of detachment, knowing that chitta is separate from samskaras.
38:43
Why?
38:43
Because remembering is seeing.
38:46
So please write this down, this is so vital.
38:48
If you do not get this, you will not get anything in spirituality.
38:52
Remembering is seeing.
38:54
Remembering is seeing.
38:56
What does that mean?
38:58
If right now I tell you to, let's say, close your eyes and remember Shiva or whatever God that you, you know, like, chances are you will notice that you can visualize him in some image, right?
39:10
Because he is not there in front of you, but if you close your eyes, you can visualize him in some form.
39:15
What does that mean?
39:18
It means you remembered Shiva, word Shiva, and so you could see a form of Shiva.
39:27
Because God is omnipresent.
39:30
Atman is omnipresent, omnipotent, imperishable, immutable.
39:34
Imperishable means can't be destroyed.
39:36
Omnipotent means there everywhere.
39:38
And so in spirituality, remembering is seeing.
39:42
Did you get what I'm saying?
39:43
Remembering is seeing.
39:44
If you remember Shiva, if you remember that my Atman is detached from the chitta and the chitta is detached from samskaras, instantly you will visualize this wall scene.
39:56
Are you getting what I'm saying?
39:58
You have to remember.
39:59
That's how you manifest divinity, by collecting divinity.
40:02
So you got to remember.
40:05
When you remember, you see.
40:07
Like when you remembered Shiva, you saw Shiva.
40:09
When you remembered the and that the chitta is detached from samskaras, you will remember this wall visualization.
40:16
It will come to you, and when that comes to you, you will see it.
40:20
And when you see it with a concentrated mind, which you'll see, you will start- and this requires practice, but the practice is just a couple of weeks.
40:28
You can- but you got to be keep it very simple.
40:31
Remembering is seeing.
40:34
When you remember, you see.
40:36
That is the secret of spirituality, because God is omnipresent.
40:42
And like a human being is a God, because God is just take the prana has just taken the form.
40:49
So he's omnipresent.
40:50
And so whenever you remember the laws of spirituality, you see it in some form.
40:59
Do you get what I'm saying?
41:01
So remember that your atman is separate from chitta, and you can see it through the example of wall.
41:05
And you further remember that the chitta is detached, and you will use this knowledge as a sword.
41:11
So when you remember that, you will visualize the wall thing, and you'll use this knowledge as a sword.
41:17
So now knowledge becomes what?
41:20
Sword.
41:22
Because remembering, seeing, so your knowledge has now taken the form of a sword to cut the vritti from being formed.
41:27
Here's how.
41:31
Because all that has happened, just to back up, is a cluster of samskaras or fear or low energy, whatever, has come to the top.
41:39
So I have to do two things.
41:41
I have to cut the vritti to pieces because remembering is seeing.
41:45
When I remember, I'll visualize the wall, and when I do that, my knowledge takes the form of a sword.
41:49
So I cut the vritti into pieces because I can do that.
41:53
And the second is, all I need is another 500 good clusters of good samskaras.
41:58
So the opposite of whatever you want.
41:59
If it's low energy, high energy.
42:01
It's fear, becoming fearless.
42:03
Or working with fear and procrastination, just some good energy from the Atman.
42:08
And we're gonna cover that in detail.
42:12
So like a sword, you cut it into pieces.
42:15
How?
42:16
Here's how it is.
42:17
Here's what Ramakrishna says.
42:20
When Ramakrishna was told to meditate on the formless form of, you know, the the without form of God by one of his teachers, he could not do it.
42:31
And so here's what he said, how he did it.
42:34
With a firm determination, I sat for meditation, and as soon as the holy form of Divine Mother appeared before the mind, I looked upon knowledge as a sword and cut the form mentally into two with the sword of knowledge.
42:50
Did you get what I'm saying?
42:52
See, did you see what he's saying?
42:55
Knowledge takes the form of a sword when you remember it, and he cut the form mentally.
43:01
There remained then no function in the mind, and the mind returned back home.
43:05
It became concentrated and merged into samadhi.
43:08
Now we may not, you know, be a master in this, but we can do the first step of remembering a scene and cutting it into pieces.
43:16
And when you do that, you'll go to the next step.
43:20
Pay attention to the words here.
43:22
"Appeared before my mind." When that form appeared before the mind, when this vritti appears before your mind of procrastination, all this stuff, "I looked upon knowledge as a sword and cut the form mentally into two pieces with the sword of knowledge." You see, this is the sword.
43:41
You you're gonna take the form.
43:42
Now in my case, I take- I remember a scene and I remember the form of Goddess Kali and I take this soul.
43:49
Now you got to know that this is practice.
43:52
If it comes- if you do 10 times, 7 times you will fail.
43:55
But your goal is not to worry about the, you know, 7 times.
43:59
Your goal is to very quickly do.
44:00
Because if you experience 1 or 2 good, or, you know, victories, very soon you know this damn thing is working.
44:06
All I need to do is get it a little bit concentrated.
44:08
Why it's working?
44:09
Because this is what all great ones did.
44:12
It's the most easiest.
44:13
It's It is the most fastest way.
44:17
So you can take your own form, you know, whatever gods you like.
44:21
In my case, I use Goddess Kali.
44:24
And you see the sword, that's what you cut it into pieces.
44:27
And I said, in my case also, even now, out of 10 times, 4 or 3 or 4 times doesn't work, but I don't bother about it.
44:33
I'm not concerned about how many times it does not work.
44:36
I'm more concerned with how many times it's working.
44:40
This is what I want to drill into you.
44:42
It's the difference between those who win in spirituality and those who don't.
44:46
Let it fail 9 times out of 10.
44:48
What does it matter?
44:49
Because this is so golden.
44:53
Because we could not follow these simple things, we think and say it's not working.
44:59
Well, if you do it 10 times, I am guaranteeing you it will work a couple of times.
45:05
And then you will know, my God, I can make this work.
45:07
So next time, instead of wasting 2 hours, you will just recover in 15 minutes.
45:12
Did you see how to play this game?
45:14
Play this game to win, not finding out reasons why you're losing.
45:21
Because play this game to win.
45:24
Say, okay, I'm gonna win 1 out of 10, or I'm gonna win 4 or 5 out of 10.
45:28
Whatever it is, don't worry about the numbers.
45:31
Just play this game.
45:33
To win.
45:35
Because the mind is your only instrument, you see.
45:38
And a scattered mind is different from a concentrated mind.
45:41
This is so vital, which you're gonna cover in the next class.
45:45
A scattered mind is different from a con- so we are using the mind.
45:49
So first, get your mind concentrated and become a receiving mind.
45:53
As told you the first, how do you manifest divinity?
45:56
By receiving.
45:57
So we got to become a receiving mind.
45:59
And I've covered that in the Detachment Breakthrough, but I'll also cover that in the next session.
46:04
So you first make a distracted mind into a receiving mind, and then you visualize the form of- by remembering it, visualize the form of Goddess Kali.
46:13
Now you make it one-pointed, and then you make it concentrated.
46:19
And all this like happens within 30 seconds to 1 hour- 1 minute, not 1 hour.
46:25
30 seconds to 1 minute.
46:27
You take a distracted mind and you make it- you make it receiving mind by remembering the knowledge, remembering seeing.
46:36
Then you make it one-pointed, then you make it concentrated.
46:38
And I have a full 2 or 3 episodes on the Detachment Breakthrough on this.
46:43
So please go to that, but it'll also make it easy for you in the next session.
46:48
Because what we are doing here is we are taking a distracted mind, making it a concentrated one.
46:52
And if you can do that, Even 1 out of 10 or 4 out of 10 or whatever it is, you are your God.
47:01
That's the whole game.
47:02
You have driven the mind back home.
47:05
Do you get what I'm saying?
47:07
So you can destroy a vritti from being formed.
47:12
Because as the new vritti appears, the thought, because of samskaras, you see it, don't allow it to complete.
47:18
Cut it into pieces like Ramakrishna did.
47:21
Here's how.
47:22
You see this, a vritti is a wave.
47:24
So a wave is formed just like, let's say I tell you to draw a wave right now.
47:28
So you will draw a wave, but as you're drawing the wave, you can stop in between.
47:32
So the time taken for you to draw the wave is the same way that it appears there.
47:36
So you can literally, through the sword of knowledge, cut the wave before it's formed.
47:40
So let's say if 10 vrittis get formed, 10 thoughts come to you, you can stop the 11th vritti because you have the power to destroy a vritti.
47:50
That's just knowledge.
47:52
Why?
47:52
Because the chitta is detached from the samskaras and the atman as the sword of becomes a sword of knowledge and you can destroy it.
48:00
That's how all great ones did that.
48:02
Because your mind is not a hardwired stone, it's a clay.
48:07
You can do whatever it is that you want.
48:09
This is so simple.
48:12
Simple in receiving.
48:15
And that's why did Krishna- you know, Arjuna said, you know, all this is- I understand that, but I deem control of mind difficult.
48:22
And so Krishna said, it is true, but through practice and detachment it can be brought under control.
48:28
That is the whole essence of Bhagavad Gita- practice and detachment.
48:32
Detachment comes through knowing the essence, what we are just going through in this one.
48:37
If you see this 5 times, you will just master detachment.
48:41
And if you go to the Detachment Breakthrough.
48:43
And then practice is you just deploy this in whatever that way that you know.
48:48
Just deploy it.
48:50
Just practice it without worrying about whether it's, you know, it's not working.
48:56
Practice to win.
48:59
Without, you know, saying, I did it for 2, 3 times, it didn't work.
49:02
There's nothing.
49:03
You have- you and I have lived for 40 billion lifetimes.
49:07
Practice it to win, and you will see that you will really be surprised with the results.
49:15
Because you will see, my gosh, this damn thing works!
49:19
It's just that I have been lazy not to do it.
49:22
And what are the benefits?
49:23
They are huge.
49:24
Because you don't have to worry.
49:25
You see, it's just like this.
49:27
You don't have to worry.
49:28
Now I'll tell you something very cool here.
49:30
Even though you may have 10,000 samskaras of procrastination, The difference between 500 samskaras, 1,000 samskaras, 10,000 samskaras, and 10 million is the same.
49:44
Even if you had 500, at that point you would feel bad.
49:49
You would not like to go get- so there is no difference between 500 samskaras of procrastination or fear or low energy and 5 million.
50:00
They are the same.
50:02
If they come up, you are in trouble.
50:05
Did you understand what I'm saying?
50:06
So don't freak out all like saying, this is- you are only fighting with that one small, you know, watermelon here.
50:16
That one bunch of samskaras which have come to the top.
50:19
That's all is our fight.
50:21
It is it's not a monster, it's just a watermelon.
50:26
And I think it's a watermelon, yeah.
50:28
It's just one watermelon, one bunch of samskaras which have come and which is causing all the problem.
50:33
The shadows are moving.
50:34
At any point there can't be 3 or 4 shadows on the top, and because of that the vritti is formed.
50:38
Did you get what I'm saying?
50:41
So visualize the vritti is appearing, it's not completely formed, and you can do this with a concentrated mind.
50:47
And we'll cover that more in detail in our next class.
50:52
But for now you need to do 2 things: that you have the power to stop a vritti from being formed, and you can project anything on the chitta, on the wall.
51:01
When you're facing the wall.
51:04
And we are gonna cover the second part in the next session.
51:07
I've covered a, you know, a good portion of that in the Detachment Breakthrough, but I'll keep it simple because I I I can share some real tips with you.
51:15
So these- you're the part to stop a vritti, and then we- our second step is to form the good samskaras.
51:22
Because if, let's say, I want to work now and I'm feeling procrastination, cut it to pieces.
51:26
And then I, with the help of the Atman, form good samskaras.
51:30
And all this happens like within a couple of minutes.
51:32
And then before we know, we are like, we are getting this work started, it's done.
51:37
You'll instantly see productivity.
51:38
Suddenly you'll get up and in one week you might have accomplished, my God, I did really good stuff.
51:46
Or maybe it will happen the second week or whatever, but you will just see power coming to you.
51:52
But practice.
51:53
To win.
51:55
And first, detachment practice.
51:57
There's nothing else.
51:59
So fooling your mind with all other, you know, excuses and this thing is all foolish because the chitta is detached from the samskaras.
52:12
So here's the big breakthrough.
52:14
You may have 1 billion negative samskaras of fear, doubt, failure, procrastination, but through simple symbolic act of facing the wall, And turning around, you can do wonders, and in a second see and vanish all these shadows.
52:26
And that's what Vivekananda says is turning the mind on its back.
52:31
So all that has happened- because whether you have 1 billion fear thoughts or 500, it's the same.
52:37
Because when those 500 come like that watermelon, they are going to form that vritti.
52:43
So you're not fighting against 1 billion, you're fighting against 500.
52:46
That's what I wanted to say.
52:48
To you.
52:50
It's it's just and you're detached from that.
52:52
And with the sword, because remembering is seeing all that happens, a cluster of samskaras that come to the top is bothering you and you stopped and you're stopping you from what you get you want.
53:02
So it's 500 or 5,000 or 50,000 or 5 million, the impact is the same.
53:07
All you need to know is your chitta is detached from samskaras and you need only 500,000 of positive samskaras to initiate action.
53:14
So you can with a sword because you're not fighting against 5 billion samskaras, you're fighting against just 500 puny shadows which and you're detached.
53:24
You can just cut it to pieces because it's a shadow.
53:28
Remembering is seeing that you're detached and suddenly the atman will rise and knowledge will get can transform into a sword.
53:38
So take a notepad and write the following in vertical order.
You see, universe, body, mind, intellect, vritti, samskara, chitta, atman.
53:58
This one is.
54:00
So can the body see the mind?
54:02
In this case, the body can't see the mind because You know, the body is formed out of the mind, right?
54:12
Can the mind see the intellect?
54:15
It cannot, because intellect is a refined form of the mind.
54:20
Can the intellect see the chitta?
54:22
It cannot.
54:23
The intellect is made up of vrittis which exist because of the samskaras, and they sit on the chitta.
54:31
See, can the chitta see the atman?
54:32
It cannot.
54:33
The chitta is blinded by the samskaras and it is attached.
54:38
It's a non-intelligent entity.
54:39
All intelligent conscious comes from the Atman.
54:42
You see, this is the game.
54:44
When you react, like when you are- when you become the wall, this is how it happens.
54:51
It's all the other way around, you know, the universe, the body, the mind, the intellect.
54:57
When you become the wall, this is how you see.
54:59
And so the universe just sees the body, the body- there is It's like you will never know that there is an Atman because all that is happening is the mind is seeing the universe.
55:11
And when you- because you are- you become the wall here.
55:14
And when you face the wall, here's what beautifully you see: the Atman sees the chitta, the chitta sees the samskaras, that it's detached.
55:23
The samskaras know- you see that because of samskaras, vrittis are formed.
55:26
Because of that, you have a refined intellect is formed and your buddhi.
55:31
Your knowledge is developed, and you see that it's it's a mind which is just picking up these samskaras and forming into vritti, and you see that the body is formed of mind, and then you see that this is the universe that I'm seeing.
55:43
So what we call as universe is nothing but how we see the shadows on the wall.
55:48
As simple as that.
55:49
That's why everything is perception.
55:52
So you can't like- what we are seeing in the morning is just this way.
55:58
If you react, your mind is seeing that, that means you're seeing the shadows on the wall and saying this is the universe.
56:04
So for some it would be, this universe is horrible.
56:07
Some will say it's beautiful.
56:09
When it's working, everything is- neither it's beautiful nor horrible, it's just this is how it is.
56:14
You're just seeing the shadow and a good shadow has come.
56:16
But the goal is to be detached, that this is all completely all separate.
56:21
And it's only when you face the wall and when you're positioned in the Atman that you see The Atman is facing the Chitta.
56:29
You can see the Chitta, Samskaras, Vritti, intellect, all these things very beautifully as being separate, and yet they all come together.
56:39
And through simple knowledge, a power comes through you.
56:44
And here it's when you react, it's all confusion.
56:48
That means when you are when you become the wall, because everything is in your chest.
56:53
Do you get what I'm saying here?
56:55
So the simple act of beginning to collect divinity instead of reacting to the universe and circumstance—and I've covered that in detail in the Detachment Breakthrough, and we'll do that more—you completely destroy all emotional setbacks, and your power and peace explodes into orbit in nanoseconds.
57:13
So how do we do that?
57:14
How do we project the right shadows at the wall at will on the screen of chitta and achieve our goals.
57:20
Because that's step 2, right?
57:23
The ability to at will project the right shadows at the screen of chitta.
57:29
So we'll see that in the next class.
57:31
For now, what I want you to go is go through this video, which I'll send you later, 3 to 4 times, or whatever.
57:39
Some parts you can like the shadows and all, and meditate.
57:43
On the notes of this session.
57:44
Just just do your meditation on this.
57:46
Just simple.
57:47
Keep it simple because you got to know that within 3 weeks when we finish this, you you would be miles ahead.
57:55
Just know, these are the only 4 things I got to- again and again just bring that to your attention.
57:59
These are the only 4 things.
58:01
These are the only 4 things.
58:02
This is what it is.
58:03
This I remembering is seeing.
58:04
This is what I got to- this is what I got to cut it.
58:07
All that has happened is a cluster of samskaras has come.
58:10
Whether it's 500 samskaras or 5 billion doesn't matter.
58:13
Because I am not- my enemy is not my 30 or 40 years of samskaras I've collected.
58:19
My enemy is just those 500 which have come to the top.
58:23
And so go to the Detachment Breakthrough class, which you've got access, because now you're armed with very- because what we're doing is we're studying, we are learning the essence of scriptures, and our goal is to return the mind back home.
