Tella Transfer: Export Loom Videos 🚀

Hey everyone.

Super excited to announce Tella Transfer.

It's our migration tool that allows you to transfer or export all your Loom videos at once.

So you can either transfer your Loom videos to your Tella account or save every video on Loom as an MP4 on your computer.

Regardless, this is a super useful tool to export your Loom library.

So to access Tella Transfer, you'll need to go to tella.com/transfer.

As you can see, I'm already here and from here you'll just download this for your Mac or for your Windows.

If you scroll down you also see there's specific Mac OS versions.

So if you're on an Apple Silicon Mac, you can download the Apple Silicon version.

if you have an Intel Mac, you can download the intel version or Windows or Linux.

I'm just going to download the Apple Silicon version and it will start downloading and I'll switch over to show you what setup looks like.

So once you have Tella Transfer downloaded and you open the DMG, you will just drag the Tella Transfer app into your Applications folder and then open up the application.

So from here, I'm just going to open it.

I'm going to enter my laptop password, since basically what we're doing here is we're storing your Loom credentials that we can log in as you on your computer.

None of this is on the cloud.

And when you're in the app, you'll see something that looks like this.

The first thing I'm going to do is I'm just going to connect my Loom account here and enter my credentials to log in.

Continue with Atlassian here and then I'm going to continue again and then enter my password login, continue without two-step verification.

And then you'll be logged in and you can see the different Loom videos I have.

So I have two different ones here and I can either choose to download them, which allows me to then select a folder in my computer to save them to, or save them to Tella.

So if I hit save to Tella, it's going to check that I'm logged into Tella, which I am.

But if you're not, you will be prompted to log into Tella.

So you can always see if you're logged in or not under account.

If it's your first time, you won't be logged in.

but if I do save to Tella and I'm not logged in, we just prompt me to log in and from here I'm just going to log into my Tella account.

I'm going to get an email signing code, I'm going to sign into Tella, select my workspace.

And then it'll check Tella and you can see now I can select one of my workspaces.

So I can select just Test, for example, and choose to keep my Loom folders.

So if you have any folders in Loom, it will persist those folders into, playlists.

Or I could just save all the videos that I selected into a new playlist or an existing playlist I have.

An important thing to note here is that it will de-duplicate.

So if you've already exported any videos using this tool, it won't export them again.

Let's do this workspace, keep my Loom folders and then you will see that I've already moved these videos, which I actually have.

So the next thing you can do after you've moved your videos for me, they're already moved.

I can invite my team.

So if you invite your team, you can see everyone from Loom on here.

Loom hides emails for some workspaces, so you need to type their email manually to invite them or just add their email here, here.

It then also automatically maps their Loom role with their Tella role.

So creator in Loom is a member in Tella.

Creator Lite is viewer.

admin.

Or owner is owner in Tella.

And then you can also select which spaces to move.

there's the All Tella space in Loom, which is the whole Loom workspace.

And then there's just a Test space that's just a space that certain people on Loom have access to for me.

And then you can select the workspace that you want to transfer to.

So let's say that's Tella.

I can then just check this box, fill in the email here, and invite and continue.

So if I invite and continue, everyone on that list will get an email for me again.

johnny+test@tella.com is already in the workspace, has already received the email.

So it won't get it.

But if haven't, if your teammate hasn't gotten invited before or not already in the workspace, they'll get an email instructing them on how to transfer their videos.

Just like what we went through here.

Yep, that's basically it.

Let us know if you have any questions or if you need any help migrating from Loom to Tella.
