Family Business Video Review 📈

Mateo, what's going on, my brother?

I am going to watch your video.

I saw that you wanted a revision on this, and you didn't, you didn't submit a ticket.

All good.

I'm gonna film this for you anyways, because I saw that you wanted it, so I'm gonna dive into this.

By the way, I don't know if we've met.

If you met me, maybe I have met you.

I'm Landon.

I've been working with Raj.

I'm a content strategist.

I've worked with some pretty big names.

but I'm here to just help you guys get better, become the best version of yourself, because I ultimately believe in you guys becoming the best version of yourselves.

So let's crush this and let me break this down for you.

Overall, at the beginning of this, like, I think this was a really great video.

I really, really do.

there's some tweaks that I would make, but here is my initial thoughts.

This is make it past the second generation.

And, two years ago, I decided to bet my career on beating those, odds.

So I like this hook.

I like what you're saying.

Hold on, let me rewind this.

Let me get back.

I can't.

Okay, so only 30%.

So one thing I don't like is I like that you're outside.

I love that.

I like that you're outside here.

I would love some pictures up here, right?

Like, pictures, like, depicting, like, family owned business, something like that.

Or even that picture of your family out front here that you later put on in the video.

I would love something like that, right?

Give me something above your head or saying something like why I want to.

I would love a TED Talk, too, with that picture saying why family owned businesses fail or something like that.

Something to catch curiosity, something to gather attention.

Because I think what you say here just doesn't hold them long enough.

I would love to know your hook rate on this video and see what I mean.

I'm sorry, not the hook rate.

The skip rate is percent of, family businesses make it past the second dinner, right?

So, like, show me a picture of a family business and then show me, like, a second generation, right?

Like, that would be a great image to put in there and kind of keep people engaged and, like, locked in on what you're saying.

And two years ago, I decided to bet my career on beating those odds.

I would have ripped.

So two years ago, I bet my career on beating those odds.

This is my dad, Fabrizio.

He left Italy, came to America.

I love these images that you're using.

These are great.

Built the salon from the ground up with a pair of scissors and a dream.

My mom, Angie, started our spa in the second.

So here's where you kind of start to get a little slow.

This is where I feel like people start to get a little bored.

Right.

you start kind of speaking in gaps.

So like, you say my mom, Angie, and then you.

There's a little pause there.

second floor has been my dad's sidekick since day one.

I like the images you're using.

Right.

My mom, Angie, built the salon on the second floor, and it's been my.

My dad's sidekick last 33 years.

They built one of the best salon and spots in Delaware.

I like this.

This.

These pictures were great.

And there's me.

I left my job in corporate America.

Make sure our family business thrives for decades to come.

There's that.

So I think what we're missing here is we're just missing a.

Like, we're telling a story.

Right?

But give me a little bit more in depth.

Like, give me the emotion, give me the feeling, Give me the heartache, Give me the problems.

Right?

Like, I know this is kind of an intro video, which is great, but I feel like I was just missing a little energy.

I feel like I was just missing a little bit of, like some.

Some enthusiasm, some excitement, some.

Something to keep me around.

Right.

Definitely a lot of work to do, but I'm ready for it.

there's definitely a lot of work to do, but I'm ready for it.

I think it's just a bland statement.

Like, instead, what I would have done is, like, there's a lot of work like this, like that, like this, and list a few things so people could see it.

And better off, if you can put some videos of what you're actually going to grow, you're actually going to build, because I think you have some.

I mean, look at these areas, dude.

I mean, look at this place.

It looks freaking sweet, right?

Like, put your head in the shower sink or wow.

Put whatever this is.

Shower sink.

let's call it that.

Put your hair in the.

Put your head in there in the hair scrub area.

Like, do some stuff like that.

Like, that would be really engaging.

That'd be really fun.

Like, let's get some.

Let's get some different shots.

Get some excitement, right?

I am so excited for this.

And I.

That right there, too, is just tacking onto that.

I am so excited for this.

So excited for what?

What are we excited about what is going to get other people excited for this.

Right?

Because yeah, like we've said.

I don't know if you ever heard me say it, but like, people don't care about you on con with content, like on Instagram, people don't care about you.

They care about them.

So they want to see and what can they get excited about?

What can you give the audience for them to get excited?

And I, want to take you on this journey with us, turning what my parents built to, to a brand that can thrive for another judge.

So if you're watching this, consider yourself a day one.

We're just getting started, so let's get to work.

Yeah.

So I think it's just missing some depth.

Like, what are you going to be doing?

Right?

Like, yes, you're a third generation and you're going to try and save this business, I think, right?

wait, hold on.

30% of family businesses make it past the second generation.

Okay?

So yeah, you're, you're, you're the second generation.

I get, your dad, your dad started this.

Okay?

So what I would say is give people a reason to stick around because after the, at this video, right?

It's just telling a story.

But what about this?

Like, what problems are you gonna face or what problems could you highlight that is going to get somebody to come into the next video, right?

Think about like the next episode of a Netflix series.

They leave you off at a cliffhanger and they build up a bunch of suspense so that you want to come back for the next episode.

They leave you guessing, they leave you curious, right?

So we have to get people to be curious.

We have to get people to be invested in what you're growing right here, right here in this video.

I'm not invested yet because there isn't enough stakes.

There isn't enough to it right now.

I'm being intense because obviously I want you to get better.

I think you have some amazing things here.

I think you're the building and what you have is sick that this is shaping up to be a really dope story.

But I want you to get really good at this, right?

So introduce more stakes, right?

Introduce something bigger, right?

What's a hook that we could say here?

I think a stronger one that we maybe could try out for a next video could be something like, Most second gen business owners fail.

Or I'm a second gen to an Italian dad and he's gonna kick my ass if I don't save this business, blah, blah, blah, blah.

And then you go you don't have to swear, but he's.

You could like, blur it out, whatever you want to do, right?

And I would go in something like that.

Like, that makes it intense, right?

Like, my Italian dad is going to kick my ass if I don't save this business.

Not even save, but if I don't keep this business going, right?

and then go into the story, because that's.

That.

That hook is so much more enticing.

It's so much more curious, right?

I would be like, yo, that's sick.

I want to hear about this.

Right?

Because people want to hear about your Italian dad, right?

Like, we just left it so open ended and we kind of left people, like, not getting what they wanted.

So that's my take.

I think your visuals are killer.

I think you've got the visual game locked in.

but let's just keep rolling from there.

Let's keep focusing on the story.

And I think we're getting.

We're getting good.

We're getting there.
