Mastering Tella's New Cutout and Pop-Out Features 🎬

Let me show you those features in a little bit more detail.

So let's remove the background from my camera here and to do this I'm going to click customization.

And then there's this new option in the full list of camera styles which is called cutout.

And you can see it has no frame.

And when you click that it is going to remove your background and then neatly anchor you to the bottom of the canvas.

and with this you can then use all of the other properties that apply to this layout preset.

Like you can change the size, you can change the position and if you want to you can go freeform and you know drag things around on the canvas and make a custom layout.

and this also applies to camera only layout.

So you don't need to have the screen as part of your background.

it could just be you and whatever you set your background to.

So if we go and select this camera only layout and customize again, and then select cutout, now we are just us, just me and the background which is really cool.

We also have a full preset for using a cutout camera.

and this sort of follows one of the more classic style kind of cutout layouts where you have sort of like the screen behind you and you're big like you're on a TV show or a night show or something like that.

So this is quite cool.

Now you can extend this idea of removing your background and how to integrate that into layouts with another feature we've added which is this pop out option.

So you can use a lot of the layout presets with this new property.

And all this does is instead of fully cutting you out it just cuts you out a little bit.

So if I switch that on you can see that it's reduced the size of the frame and I'm like a little bit outside of it which looks really cool.

And again you can move things around, change the size of this.

But if you jump into customization you get some extra more advanced properties.

like you can control the cutout, the pop out amount.

So now you can make yourself really pop out of the frame, like that, and you can also add an outline as well.

So you can have a lot of fun messing around with these options.

You can change the background too.

So I've just got my regular background but I could switch to a colored background and I can change the color and maybe I Want that to like match with a part of the video.

So that is the pop out feature.

And again you can, there's all sorts of fun combinations that you can do with this.

Now the other thing in the little demo of Louise and I going through this feature you saw before was putting text behind you.

So let me show you how you do that.

For this you want to select a a non pop out layout.

You just want to select like full screen camera like this and then you want to go to overlays and when you're in overlays you can select any of the overlays whether it's text or stickers or media you've uploaded.

And that can then just be placed behind you.

So I just grab this mug, I'm going to put this behind my shoulder because I love coffee.

and over here on the depth I can switch to behind presenter and that's going to be behind me like this.

I could also go and grab a title or some text.

And can do the same with this.

Let's put a background on there and you can do the right click menu and then put that behind and you can make that.

Which looks pretty cool.

Now when you have a bunch of layers on your canvas like this, if you head down to the timeline you can see that the presenter acts as like an invisible track that you can then workaround.

And so I know here that I've got the text and the sticker below the presenter behind the presenter which you can sort of see corresponding to one another, how it's, how it's arranged on the canvas and how it's arranged on the timeline.

And then you can just grab layers and put them above the presenter and that will update the canvas to do the same.

So now the text layer is in front of me and put it below me here and it will go behind me on the canvas.

So with this you can create quite fun and complex sequences of things appearing in your video that alternate between being behind you and in front of you.

You can have a lot of fun with that.
