Exec MCP Day to Day: Call Prep and Practice 🚀

Hello.

In this video, I'm going to be walking you through some powerful ways you can use the Exec MCP in your day to day.

So if you're someone getting ready for client calls, running through role plays, or just keeping on top of your assignments, this video is for you real quick on what an MCP actually is though.

It's essentially a way for you to connect your exec workspace with the other tools in your tech stack, usually through an LLM or AI assistant so that they can all talk to each other.

Once that's in place, you can ask it simple questions and get an answer back built around exec data without having to actually dig into the, workspace to find it.

Now the useful part is that you can now engage with multiple tools all in one place.

A lot of what you need to get ready for a conversation doesn't just live in exec.

It lives in your calendar, lives in your Slack messages or your call recordings.

So even when I'm not asking an exec specific question or I can pull the context from those places and use it to build better quality role plays or spot the skill gaps that I actually need to practice on.

So let's go ahead and get right into it.

So I have a couple of prompts I'm going to run through, my cloud instance here.

but you can use whatever sort of LLM or tool you prefer.

So let's go ahead and start with asking what calls do I have coming up?

So using this prompt, I'm going to call my Google Calendar to go and look at my different calls and see what's going on.

Awesome.

So I can see that I have three calls coming up over the next two weeks and if I go over to my Google Calendar I can see the three ones here, my little demo instance.

But we've got one with Bellwether Logistics.

So an implementation technical scoping call, we have one with Meridian Financial Group and then I have an internal sync with Nick about a new product.

So let's go ahead and take this a step further.

What happened on my last call with Bellwether and what do I need to know before our call on Monday?

Going to go ahead and press this in and it's going to call on my Google Calendar, maybe my call recorder to go and find that information.

and now Claude has given me a summary of what we talked about in our previous call and what's going to be brought up in the upcoming call as well.

Now if there were specific things I want to go and hone in on, I could continue chatting with Claude about it or I can go ahead and say let's just build a role play so I can practice for this call.

And so from Claude I can pull in that context from my call recorder or my Google Calendar.

And now I can build content or roleplays within Exec right from Claude to practice and prepare for upcoming meetings.

now before we build the call Claude is asking me a couple questions.

So there are a few different people I am meeting with on that Monday call.

Do we want to rebuild out all three of the people or just Dale and Renata?

Let's do for this one let's just do all three.

Great.

Who should the scenario put pressure on?

Let's focus on pilot scope brokering.

but if there were other skills I need to specifically focus on, I could go and look through that as well.

Going to move on and honestly for this one I just want it to be medium.

Great.

Now that I put in this information it's going to start building the roleplay for me.

and now Claude has just built out a roleplay in Exec for us.

So here on the right I can review the details of what it has built out but I can also just click on the link in either one of these places.

And let's go ahead and open up and see what it has built.

If we go here we can find that it has built us out a multi Persona roleplay where I'm walking through everything about this upcoming call so I can go and practice, get some feedback, see how I can better prepare maybe the way I explain certain things or just overall understand maybe the personality types that I'm going to be working with.

Now moving on, I'm going to start asking a couple more exec related questions.

So I'm going to start a new thread here and let's just ask how have I done in my most recent roleplay sessions?

This is going to load up the exec mcp, go and pull all of the information of my most recent role plays I've done, look at the scores and overall just see how I'm doing, maybe where I'm doing well, maybe areas for improvement.

And it's looking at my last 10 sessions so I can see a handful of role plays I've done, how many times I've done it, the overall scores I've received and it's going through and giving me a note on consistent, a consistent note of feedback.

So one of the things that it looks like I am weakest on is doing this diving beyond surface achievements which was an 89% so it says I partially achieved the objective because I explored the product experience without pinning down his actual individual contributions.

So this is a skill gap for those types of scenarios.

Now using this information I could add in another prompt like based on the most recent sessions, what skills can I specifically work on improving?

and the exec MCP will look deeper into the specific sessions that it had referenced.

Look into the scores there, the call transcripts and also the skill analytics to see what areas I can potentially focus on.

Whether it be building a new role play or just figuring out exactly maybe the patterns of my speech that I could adjust, things like that.

Let's see what it has to say.

And after reviewing those sessions it looks like here is the list of skills that are still in like a developing phase.

So empathy, discovery, strategic thinking, active listening and I can read a little bit more into each one of these.

So it looks like discovery is one of the clearest gaps.

So it's referencing some of the role plays I've done and explaining where I got the poor or the mid score.

See I've got reflecting before responding, acknowledging the other person's reality.

So if I wanted to, I could now go and build out role plays focused around that specific skill to hopefully improve on it and see some sort of result over the next coming weeks.

Another thing I can do here is I can actually look into my current assignments within exec.

So if I've been assigned things either via a program, through a course, or maybe just my manager or someone has assigned a collection of role plays, I can also manage and track those here to see what things I need to get done and have direct references or links to those places to practice So I've got eight open assignments across four programs and 12 attempts, left to log.

So we have a handful of these like a coaching through competing deadlines, what program it's connected to and then also the status or the requirements I need to pass that.

So it looks like I need to prioritize the coaching through competing deadlines.

So I can say can you link me to that role play so I can do it?

Let's say the Monday one.

And here I've got the link to the assigned roleplay so I can press on that, go straight into exec, go review it, begin my session and get right back to work afterwards.
