All about how to make more sales of your existing offers with paid ads, but with a twist.
00:07
Because today I'm not just going to talk at you about how amazing I think paid ads are and give you a whole bunch of theory.
00:12
We're going to actually create one for one of your existing offers together as we go.
00:17
So before we get to the doing, I am going to take just a minute to tell you why I think ads are amazing, but also just to give you some context on some things that ads do that I think will be really helpful for you as you dive into this world of using paid ads.
00:30
So the first thing is that even though I said we're going to use them to make more sales, they aren't just a sales tool.
00:36
they are a way of basically buying speed in your business because they can help you make visibility more predictable, they can help you be less dependent on things like algorithms and launches and referrals and even just your own capacity to show up and make social media content and email your list on any given week.
00:57
And that really buys you freedom with your time because you have something out there doing a job for you, no matter what you're choosing to do with the rest of your time.
01:07
So you could be sick, you could be travelling, you could do all the things and ads are out there doing some work of getting you visible and getting your offers and things in front of people.
01:17
and the reason I think this is so valuable and so important, especially now, is because organic reach is getting increasingly unpredictable.
01:26
I'm hearing all the time whether it is how social media showing up for us, how many leads we're getting for doing events like summits, it's getting harder and harder to make our audience see and show up for the things that we're doing.
01:39
whereas, ads is kind of pay to play, and will help you speed that whole process along.
01:44
Because you can buy attention no matter how big your audience is, whether that is reaching the people who are currently a follower or on your email list, but who just aren't seeing your content or even reaching brand new people.
01:57
And that means that our growth can be a lot more predictable because we can watch the numbers and we can literally, predict how many people are going to see things, how many people like to then buy something.
02:08
And it just creates a much more enjoyable experience when you know to a certain degree how something is going to turn out rather than just hoping, you're going to get a good response for something now, that being said, ads are not magic.
02:25
They do amplify, what is already there.
02:28
And so the way I want you to think about ads is the ads are doing the job of pulling people in to see what you've got.
02:37
They are just handling the putting your stuff in front of people job.
02:41
Everything that happens after that is still on you and your marketing and your content and your offers and everything.
02:47
So it's going to amplify what works, and it's going to tell you pretty quickly if you've got something that doesn't work and that can be really helpful or really scary, depending on how you see it.
02:57
Personally, I love that, because I'd rather find out very quickly that there's a gap in my funnel than spend three months promoting it and then wondering why it isn't working.
03:06
So ads are going to do a heck of a lot of lifting for you, and that's what ultimately is going to decrease your workload when it comes to doing things like social media posts and all of that, because you just don't have to rely on it as much as you previously would have had to.
03:23
Really, when it comes to making the decision of, am I ready to run ads?
03:27
It's not so much about, do I have every little thing in place and is it perfect?
03:31
It's more a case of, do you want a business where visibility and attention is something that you can control?
03:39
Because that is what ads are going to give you.
03:41
And, what we're creating today is basically, a way of getting attention on an offer, or a freebie or a thing that you have in your business.
03:51
Now, onto the doing, I have put together some tools to help you with this.
03:56
They'll be linked down below.
03:57
And what we're going to do is we're going to generate the caption or the ad copy and the graphic for an offer of your choice to be doing it for a webinar today.
04:07
And that I'm going to use that as a placeholder so you can see how this works and how it all comes together.
04:12
And then finally, when it comes to the tech setup, you can grab my freebie down below, which is Facebook ads for beginners.
04:17
And that is going to help you, get everything set up and do all the tech pieces after this workshop.
04:24
Okay, let's dive in.
04:27
Let's start with your ad copy.
04:28
And I have built a little generator to help you, which is going to take all the information about your offer and it's going to marry up with one of my previous best converting ad copy template, and then turn that into a prompt so that chatgpt can write it for you.
04:42
Now, what you put into this is what's going to make or break your ad.
04:45
And that is true whether you are writing it from scratch, using a template or using AI.
04:50
Because the bit that AI or anything cannot replicate is your knowledge of your audience, what they want, what they find interesting, and most importantly, the reasons why they want that outcome in the first place.
05:04
So I'm using a webinar that I have for a visibility ads framework, which is then selling a course on the end on how to do that.
05:11
And so I'm putting in things about why someone would be interested in visibility and why they might want to by a course about visibility ads.
05:21
And when you're filling in all your details here, for the prompt, these two are the most important ones.
05:27
So the first one is your key benefits or your hooks.
05:30
And that's like the shiny object carrot on a stick.
05:33
Reasons why someone might want something.
05:34
And so I've put in things like how to reach a thousand plus new ideal clients before Black Friday, because that would be true.
05:41
You're going to reach more than a thousand people.
05:42
How to run simple visibility ads for $2 a day.
05:45
That's kind of like the budget, version.
05:48
And I've also got like how to reach more people without posting on socials every day.
05:52
So that's a different reason why someone might want it.
05:54
But then the emotional drivers are different.
05:56
They're the feeling behind why they'd want that.
05:59
And that's because they're tired of feeling like a hidden treasure on the Internet.
06:02
They're tired of being overlooked.
06:04
They want attention that you don't have to work so hard for.
06:07
they're tired of organic marketing because it just seems to take forever to do and it's so unpredictable.
06:12
It doesn't feel worse, worth it and they just burnt out from doing it.
06:15
Those are emotional reasons rather than just, yeah, that sounds great.
06:19
And yes, that's technically a good idea way.
06:23
So make sure you're really diving into those because that will really make a difference on how good your ad copy is.
06:29
And then down here I have some other big pieces which will help you make it more you.
06:34
And that's including the personality where you can take it from very Polite all the way through to completely unfiltered.
06:40
choose what your call to action is, write a bit about how you want it to be come across.
06:45
and then you can put in your own on brand emojis and then this will automatically fill in for you as you write it.
06:50
Then all you have to do is click copy, throw it into Chat GPT, and it will write your ad copy for you.
06:59
And then exactly the same thing is going to happen with your ad graphic.
07:03
You're going to go and use the ad graphic prompt generator.
07:06
You're going to put in exactly what text you want to have on this graphic.
07:10
and this is one that has some text on it, it has a headline, it has a little bit of about content.
07:16
Literally, just follow the whole process.
07:18
You can put in some brand colours.
07:20
I recommend you follow the prompts according to whether they're dark or light because then it makes the eventual ad legible.
07:26
You'll be able to actually read things.
07:28
And then you can choose your little accent graphics as well.
07:31
and again, copy your whole prompt, throw it into Chat GPT and then it will generate a graphic for you.
07:38
But one thing I want to flag is that this design that I have created the generator for is one of my best converting ones.
07:44
It wins so often it's unreal, but it has a photo on it.
07:48
So one thing I want you to do is when you put this into, chatgpt, I want you to also include a photo of you and it will then pull that and put you on your own ad.
08:00
and then it's unique to you, so you're also going to send ChatGPT off to make that and then you're going to come back in a minute on once it's done some working and you will have a completely finished ad ready to go.
08:14
Okay, so now we have let ChatGPT go and do its work for a minute.
08:17
You are going to end up with a graphic that looks something like this.
08:20
It will be, of course, unique to you, depending on what text you gave it, what colours you gave it, what photo you uploaded, but it's going to look something like this because this is the winning ad template that I come back to again and again to promote things.
08:33
now you have a couple of ways of editing this if you want to make changes.
08:37
The first one is just tell chatgpt what you want.
08:40
It will do it for you and it usually does a pretty good job actually.
08:44
or you can take this, throw it into Canva and use this little magic layers feature to turn it into a canva template where you can change everything from the fonts to the colours to the placements, the whole lot.
08:55
and the same with your ad copy.
08:57
You now have a couple of different variations of ad copy to run with, pulling from all the information that you gave it, which you can technically just go and copy paste into the ads manager.
09:08
But I do recommend you do a human edit first.
09:11
but hypothetically, we now have everything we need to go and create an ad.
09:17
So let's do that.
09:18
You're going to go to the ads manager and you're going to start setting up a brand new campaign that will then look a little bit like this.
09:24
I've done the setup, so I can just talk you through it.
09:27
and if you would like a deeper dive into this, you can go and sign up for my free thing, Facebook, ads for beginners, and that will talk you through it.
09:33
And also some other tech account setup, things you might want to have in place before you get to this point.
09:40
now if you've run ads before though, this will look very familiar to you because you have the campaign at the top, which is kind of like the folder of where your ads live.
09:47
And then you have the ad set, which is where you get to make decisions about, what we're tracking and who we're sending this ad to.
09:56
Now, if you do anything remotely similar to what I do, where you're also talking to other people who are business owners and who are marketing their business.
10:03
The audience I actually recommend that a lot of people start out with is a very simple one, which is Instagram interests, marketing personalities, and this is, the new version of targeting, like Amy Porterfield and Marie Forleo and the Female Entrepreneur Association.
10:17
All those people, they've all been combined into one interest and it still does remarkably well.
10:23
It's such a good, such a good interest for so many people.
10:27
I recommend you give that a go if you're trying to reach other business owners in any way.
10:31
It's a great starter one.
10:32
If you haven't run ads before and you just want something to try out, so try that out as your interest, for your targeting.
10:39
make your own decisions about whether you want, different ages or genders or locations and just see how you get on with that.
10:47
And then you're going to get through to being able to put all of this stuff into Facebook to have your actual ad.
10:53
And when you're done it's going to look a bit like this.
10:57
This is how it's going to show up on the newsfeed.
10:59
And you can see here you've got your ad copy, you've got the graphic we made and you've got the little headline down at the bottom.
11:05
When someone clicks, see, see more, all the rest of the, copy will appear and you can, put in the link to your landing page here, there's a setting for that down here under destination.
11:16
and basically it's just a matter of copy pasting things and changing some of the settings so that they work for you.
11:23
By the time you're done with that, you're ready to hit publish and technically you just made an ad.
11:29
You're all done, that's it.
11:31
and I hope that this process has showed you just how easy and how quick it can be to go from having to do all of your promotion manually to having an ad out there as your little mini ambassador, getting your offers out in front of new people all the time, every day of the week, whether you are showing up and posting or not.
11:52
So if you want to have a more thorough work through of this, please go sign up for the training band below.
11:57
It will talk you through it.
11:58
but before we go, I want to talk to you about a few more things about ads and how to get the best results, from them in the future if you do decide to run them.
12:10
As I mentioned at the very beginning, ads are one of those things where I feel like you get better results out of it the more you put into it at the very beginning.
12:16
And that is why that part of our prompt where we were talking about what things people are actually interested in and the emotional drivers behind why they want that thing in the first place are so important.
12:27
Because I think when I've gone and audited other people's ad accounts for them and I look at why maybe their ads weren't working, it nearly always comes down to them being in a rush, not feeling, feeling like they knew what was going to work so they just threw anything up or them relying a bit too heavily on someone else's templates and then they kind of lost themselves along the way and it didn't end up having enough of them and their ideal client and their soul and their brand voice, in that ad.
12:54
And so hopefully with the prompt generator we have managed to include some of that because you have been able to put in some more of the source material rather than just filling in the gaps on, on a template.
13:04
but really this is something that's true for a lot of marketing.
13:08
If you are able to put more of that energy and more of that nuance about your offer and about your ideal client into it, the better outcome you're going to have on the other end.
13:19
Because ads really are just an amplification tool.
13:23
So if you aren't very clear on who your ideal client are, your ads aren't going to be very clear on finding the right people.
13:29
If you don't really know why your offer is important.
13:33
People reading your ad aren't going to know why your offer is important either.
13:36
So you want to make sure that you know that really well before you start diving into the whole world of ads.
13:42
But if you do know that really well, then really ads can be such an amazing tool for getting your work out there even when you're not showing up.
13:51
and really just buying the attention from the algorithm at the very start of the whole process.
13:59
Because that's really what it does.
14:00
It's just a matchmaking tool.
14:02
It will take your offer and matchmaker to the ideal people that it can find, who need that offer based on what you said in your ad.
14:11
So I hope today has been interesting and I hope you have enjoyed this, workshop style session where you get to try out creating an ad for yourself.
14:20
I am obviously a huge fan of ads because I find they're such a equalising tool, a bit like AI tools are, and that they can help you reach a lot more people, even if you don't have the time to post on social media all the time.
14:34
And it can help you get more people into your events, no matter what the algorithm is doing that week.
14:39
And I love that.
14:40
I love having the control over that and feeling like I get to be in charge of how, how many people see my offers and how they get out there into the world.
14:50
Now, if you would like to know more about ads or want to have more, guidance on setting things up, please go sign up for my free thing down below.
