Exec MCP for Team Leads: Coaching and Team Performance 🤖

Hello.

In today's video, I'm going to be walking you through Exec's new MCP and specifically how you might use it as someone who's managing a team or an organization using Exec.

Now the quick version of what an MCP is is it's basically a way for you to connect your Exec workspace to an LLM or an AI assistant that you already use in your day to day, most likely somewhere where you've connected other tools as well so that they can all communicate with each other.

Once that connection is in place, you can ask the Exec MCP questions about your workspace in plain language and get an answer back that's built around the data within Exec.

So now you don't have to go and pull reports or know where everything lives within the dashboard.

You can simply prompt in simple questions, like for example, how did my team do last week?

Or who's falling behind on their assignments and all of that information that lives in execration, you can pull it into wherever you prefer to work and use those types of insights to then build out content or update things, whether that be an Exec or in your CRM or anywhere else where it's going to make the most impact for you and your team, in terms of training, development and continuous improvement.

So with that being said, I want to walk you through a handful of ways that you can use the Exec MCP in your day to day and just show you what I get back from my own demo workspace.

Now obviously the world is your oyster here, so this is mainly just to give you some ideas.

But if you think about other ways to use the mcp, go and try them and see what you come up with.

Well let's go ahead and get right into it.

Awesome.

So as you can see here, I've got my cloud up and I have it connected to Chase's Exec MCP project.

So since this is more for demo purposes, I've connected it to my demo workspace and given some instructions, some and things so that I'm not going to show any customer information.

But a great thing about the project is that you can again create your own commands or instructions.

So when you do connect an MCP to something like a Claude or a ChatGPT is you can then create your own custom skills or your own instructions to make the MCP as customized to you as you'd like.

But in this case, I'm going to start off with a simple, prompt here.

So we're going to do give me a readout on my AE team's roleplay performance over the past two weeks, broken out by team.

Go ahead and press Enter and it'll take me right here to my chat and start running the MCP.

So we've got our first bit of information that the exec MCP has pulled for us.

So we can look at my different AE teams broken down by segment.

We can see how many people are there, the sessions that they've done per person.

Gold, silver, bronze, all that good stuff here.

And we can read just a, you know, quick summary on what it has pulled for us.

I noticed that, you know, it looks like the difficulty is actually in two specific role plays.

So there's a discovery practice during demo and then a renewal negotiation with a sales vp.

And it looks like the biggest improvement curve here was an overcoming initial objections on Upsell.

So there's pretty good lift there.

Now it does say that there are a couple, findings worth flagging.

So the content mix skews away from selling.

So about 59% of logged practice minutes went to interviewing management and leadership scenarios.

So you know, obviously this is demo workspace, but maybe they're all focused on doing other role plays when they should be focused on, you know, selling or selling related role plays.

So maybe that's kind of the information we'd want to find, what I do notice is that we have a handful of coaching candidates.

So there are some people with the lowest best scores on Discovery, which was the weakest, scenario.

And so we have like a Jennifer, a Ronald, a Marie and a Juan.

So knowing that these are the different people that are struggling, maybe these are ones that I schedule meetings with to focus on.

I talk to through some of the struggles they have.

Maybe I build a scenario related to Discovery or their weak points to further improve on that.

But let's go ahead and continue through the prompting and the examples.

So another one I'm going to do is who are my best performing reps and what stood out about them and then who struggled the most this past month on their calls.

I'm going to put them in and see what it comes up with.

Great.

And now I have a summary of my strongest reps and the ones who have struggled the most.

So I can look at the names, I can see what teams they might be a part of.

Using this information I could tell Claude to like go and build me out a report or I could connect it to my CRM and maybe pull in the calls, whether I guess it's from the CRM or like my call recorder to see if there are also real world instances of that.

Again I could also do that with call scoring as well if you have that connected with an exec.

But let's go ahead and move on to the next prompt.

So what objections is my team continuously struggling to overcome on their live calls?

Now in this case I'm using this prompt, assuming that my call scoring is set up and I have calls.

So if I wanted to specify what team, or if I wanted to look at different teams to notice what types of objections they are struggling with, I could prompt those types of things in as well.

And now you can see a quick summary of the objections that have gone unhandled.

We have nine different objections here and the scripts where they were raised.

And if we scroll through we have this overall summary of each one of these.

So we see that timing is a clean miss and so 0 of the 4, every version folds.

We can read through all these details.

Value is too small and it's never engaged at all.

And using the different information or using the insights that we find here, we can build out something like a role play or we can summarize and build a report of the different objections that we might want to build out training content for, or maybe new courses or programs where we meet with the team to improve on these skills and hopefully see improvements over time.

So another cool thing about the exec MCP is that you can now pull data from different parts of exec, put them into one place and use that information, in a more creative way.

So for example, what it says here is we can look at our scenario library.

We can look at the skill data that we had pulled from earlier, look at the objection handling, kind of line up where exactly those those gaps are and then use that information to build out the new content.

So this is something that you could do in theory in exec by exporting the data.

But using an MCP is going to make it so much faster and easier for you to also see potential trends or patterns that you might also have in your CRM or your call recorder or anywhere else where you might have, your team's performance being tracked as well.

Now from here there are different, you know, there are different prompts that we could continue to go through.

We could look at managing our assignments.

So we could prompt and say, like, what kinds of assignments have we got?

but knowing that we have these different skills and things that we could work on, let's actually just go ahead and start building a role play.

So I'm going to say based on all of this, building a roleplay that targets our biggest gap and using the mcp, we can actually build out scenarios as well.

Real quick, Claude is asking me a couple questions about the roleplay.

It also did some additional, research on its, specific objections or the gaps that it thinks we should focus on.

So we're going to pitch over the stated paint.

So we're going to click on that and let's go ahead and spec then draft on your code.

Great.

So it's now built the scenario in my drafts in exec.

So I can either go to the draft in exec and continue to work through it, or I can go here, or, I can stay in Claude and I can say, great, let's publish the scenario draft and then give me the link to the scenario and it will work through that for me.

Great.

We have that all set.

So we're going to pull up the scenario in my dashboard.

Alternatively, I could go and open it up in my Google Chrome.

So I'm going to do that.

We are going to practice a discovery call with a misdiagnosed prospect and it's going through the full scenario here.

all built within Claude.

So those were a few different ways that you can use the Exec MCP as a leader at your organization, managing a team, within exec.

Now obviously these are just a couple different ways, to get your brain thinking about maybe how you might use the Exec MCP in your day to day.

But I highly encourage you to take a stab at it.

Try out pulling different information about your team, maybe try connecting some other tools, maybe like your CRM, your call recorder, maybe you use Google or something to build out documents, to see really how far you can stretch this tool.
