Using Tags in Kinetic Notes 🏷️

All right, this is Bakari again.

I'm about to show you another feature in Kinetic Notes, and we're going to talk about tagging.

And so I'm going to give you kind of a, you know, back view of my actual, notebook that I'm using.

And just to say, because I have a lot of tags already, in my notes, so this would be great for you to see how it works.

So basically, each note can.

You can add tags to it.

And basically what you do is you can say, if I wanted to add a tag, and you see that the tags I've already used already are.

They pop up here.

All right?

But I want to say, I want to add a new tag.

I can say keyboard shortcuts.

And then I just hit the return key, and then that adds that tag.

Right?

And so then, so that tag gets added to that list of, you know, existing tags or saved tags.

But if, also, if I wanted to add other existing tags, all I had to do was just tap or click the little button right here to add it to that.

Right?

Makes it really quick and easy to add tags there.

And you also see that those tags show up in your details panel over here as well.

So.

And you can, again, you can hide the details panel whenever you want.

Now, why are tags so important and why are they so useful?

Well, if you go over to your smart list, for example, and let's say that we can do a thing called create a new Smart list.

So we'll do this, and we'll call it, Beta Testers.

Okay?

And then we're gonna go down.

There are different rules to base your Smart list on.

And basically a smart list basically just it filters, notes based upon the rules that you set.

So we're gonna filter by tag.

All right, so we go here, and then we're gonna put beta tester there.

And so then we click here, right?

And I think I've already had already created this, but here you go right here.

And you'll see all the notes that I have about beta test for beta testers is right here.

And I can choose to click this right here.

And it'll show up in the, pinned, list.

Pinned Smart list.

So for easy access, right?

And so that's how you do that.

And then if you wanted to, you.

You can go here and you can, edit it and, you know, add more tags or change.

Change the rule or what have you.

But that's how you do that.

Now let me go back to one of our notes here.

Okay.

you can also, you know, if you need to get rid of a tag, all you do is click a little X button right there and that gets rid of it.

That's how you do that.

So get in habit of when you're creating your notes to to one, you're gonna put it in the project, but you also are gonna start adding tags that makes most sense to you for filtering a whole bunch of notes together.

So when you start getting 10, 15, 20, 30 notes, right, tagging will be very important for filtering those notes and getting access to them really quickly.

okay, I forgot to point out one important feature in terms of tagging in the Kinetic notes is you can when you have tags existing tags in a note, you can click on that tag and it will filter and show all the other notes that have that same tag.

So I really like using that because if I wanted to quickly find related notes, I just click the tags.

So that's another reason why it's important to tag your notes at least one to three tags so that you can quickly move between them.
