Alpha Anywhere: A Guide for Students and Parents 🎓

Hey there, alphanywhere families.

My name is Joe.

Welcome, to what I hope is a very informative video that we've put together for you all, showing you our two primary experiences that you're going to have available to you at Alpha Anywhere.

Those two experiences are pretty easy to define.

One is for our awesome adults, for our parents, caregivers, guardians, everything that you need to be informed to manage and understand your child's progress and their mastery at alphanywhere all in one place.

We're gonna take a close look at that so you've got everything you need to feel fully equipped and informed as your child progresses with Alpha Anywhere.

The second place is our student experience.

Probably guess these two right, our student experience where your kids will log in each day that they're doing work, where they'll see what work is waiting for them.

They'll see the rewards that they're earning, the mastery streaks that they're building and the progress that they're making as they can also look back in time to see where they've been and what they've got coming.

So.

Right.

Makes, hopefully makes a lot of sense.

Two separate experiences.

We always know what we're tailoring for each audience.

And you're about to know as well.

Now I will warn you, this video is going to probably go a little long.

We're going to try to put a lot in here.

but don't worry, we're not aiming for, you know, do I watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy or do I watch Joe's video about the platform?

we're not quite aiming that long but we will break this into chapters, intending that you might want to go back and re watch just a section later and revisit or refresh or maybe you just want to hear an awesome joke that I told and save it for your in laws this weekend.

And you gotta like nail the delivery and timing just like me.

I'm just kidding.

But we're gonna break it up into chapters so you can just pull out the parts in case you have questions later, which our parents tell us happens all the time.

You'll be in month one or month two and you'll have questions about something and we hope that this video can serve as a resource for you.

It is the back half of 2026 right now as we're filming this.

And so one little quick disclaimer probably best said, by Noah in Noah's Arcade from the movie Wayne's World.

The product moves faster than the advertising things, didn't go well for Noah after he made that statement.

But what I'm trying to say here is, is that the visuals that you see here are likely going to change and update our product.

And our product development moves fast.

It moves at the speed of light.

As we learn more from you about what your kids, we learn from the kids directly, too.

So if I'm walking you through something in this video and you log in and it looks a little different, please don't be surprised.

That's just us making constant improvements, which you can learn about each week as we send you weekly newsletters on new features that we're excited about or new features that we're testing.

Okay, that's the preamble to get us started, set and ready to dive in.

We're going to take a look at the student experience first, which is called Time Back.

Anywhere your kids have one place to log in, and they should be logging in through the application called Time Back, that they probably got from the App Store or direct download.

And they should be landing on a screen that looks just like this when they start each day.

And so we're going to take this screen and in pieces so you can understand everything you're looking at.

If you're looking at it right now and you're saying, boy, there's a lot here.

Where do we start?

Don't worry, we're going to demystify it all for you.

And I promise you're going to feel command of what your children are seeing each day and how it's structuring motivational learning for them as they move through their mastery and their subjects.

So, this is a sort, of a blank slate.

this child has not done work today.

I'm going to show you the difference of what it looks like when a child has completed all the required learning for today, for the day.

And you'll see that there are differences.

But let's start moving top to bottom, so you know what you're looking at.

So up here at the top, we're over here on the.

So you have this sidebar here.

We'll go through these selections later.

There's also one, way down here, if you can see my pointer, called alphabank.

We'll talk about that as well.

and then there are three.

Up here at the top we have Home Mastery Track and badges.

So we're going to start on Home and We're on the today view.

Now, all of your child's progress, is going to be based on earning XP or experience.

Right?

Experience points are going to be sort of the metric and the guide and the currency for academic mastery.

And so what you see at the top here is sort of a track for each subject that you'll be asked to do each day with an XP goal for the day.

25.

XP for math, 10, XP for fast math, 25.

And you can read the rest of them here.

Now, an XP loosely correlates to an effective minute of learning.

And I say loosely because subject by subject, there's some variation and some technical nature to that.

but that's a good working understanding, is that one XP needs a worked minute in that subject.

So, so 25 worked minutes in math does make sense.

That's your pomodoro block for math, 10 minutes for fast math.

So less time required there.

And again, you can read the rest of those.

Now the total target XP for the day is how we build goals for you to know and your child to know.

Did I finish?

Am I done?

Was that enough?

So when this XP circle is completed, that should be the first signal that the child is complete with their work for the day.

Now, there are some cases where kids can earn XP very quickly by taking, mastery tests.

We always encourage that the dominant standard for you and for them is actually time, that putting 25 minutes is important.

I know this distinction can be a little tough to understand, but the time is important.

It's durable, it builds good habits and good, repetitive consistency.

but XP is what is monitoring actual progress.

Okay, so you got some cool little bars here.

These will update, I won't say instantly, but they'll update rather quickly as your child's making progress.

I will click on it for a second, and I know it's going to change the whole screen view, but if you take one click backward to see what yesterday looked like, we can see what a completed day looks like.

Everything's filled in.

This child had a great day yesterday.

This wheel is filled.

All the individual subjects are filled.

And you can see them all filled down here at the bottom.

Let's go back to August 7th.

and we can see that this is, sort of a blank slate, as I mentioned earlier, waiting to be completed.

There are some really cool incentivizing things in here for kids, which is going to bring me to talk about alpha coins.

Alpha coins are the motivation currency, the actual currency.

So as kids do work, they're going to earn Alpha coins.

And you can see Alpha coins shown here by subject.

And again, we're always sort of, optimizing the system to help kids feel motivation.

Some of the newer things you see here, like this mystery box where kids can win the week, when they get their weekly goal.

If I switch to weekly boat or venture very close with this student to getting to the weekly goal of 600 XP, when they get that, this mystery box will open with an awesome prize.

it changes in sort of the excitement of what's in it.

you can see the alphas the child has earned.

They can see that right here, how many alphas they've earned.

And we're going to get to alpha bank about what they do with those alphas a little bit later.

so here, that's kind of this top sort of mastery track, of you by subject.

let's move down.

Here's where the child is actually going to start doing some of the work.

Now, the first section here, inside this little white box is for tests.

You, might have one test here.

You might have zero tests here.

You might have five tests here.

tests tend to be the most important thing.

and we put that here at the top, because we want kids to start with the tests from when their mind is fresh, whenever possible.

Again, not a hard limitation.

They could, of course, click on anything they want down here, but we put the test at the top on purpose for that reason.

if this child was going to do this test, it's super simple.

They just click on it and they start the placement test.

You get a little note about why this test is here, because we've got a seventh grade test.

they're ready to go.

I'm not gonna do this test as part of the demo.

I hope you can appreciate why.

But, hey, it says, boom, you conquered grade six.

Time for the next challenge.

Let's do the test, and aim for a 90, and then they can jump into it right here.

You, can also, by the way, I'll just call out as I'm diving into a screen.

We've moved to this second indicator on the sidebar for mastery track.

But I can also click backward and go backwards through each of these prior grades.

if the child wants to see, like, hey, what happened back at grade four again, boom.

There's exactly everything that happened in grade four.

And parents, don't worry if you're like, I want to see that.

Don't worry.

Hold that Thought when we get to the parent view, you will see you have the exact same information available to you as well.

Let's pop back out of reading by clicking on the home button and anyway, all of these will work the same.

If I click on the subject, it'll take me to the activity for the day I complete my XP goal.

Right.

And I'm good.

If I want to see a short preview of what's coming, it is in this little sliver here down at the bottom of the box.

Any subject that says supplementary, like writing.

All that means is that as a supplement topic, if you were going to deprioritize one subject today, it is the supplementary one.

We don't measure academic progress with the map test for writing.

It is a very valuable skill.

it is not on a different playing field in terms of what you can learn in alpha.

Right.

which is driving this subject today.

we just want to make sure that is also identified as a distinguishing feature.

Reading, math, language and science make up your core four vocabulary and fast math deliberately and directly add value back to language and reading and math directly.

So those are not flag supplementary.

We recommend those every single day.

Okay, let's move over to the right.

Book a post test coaching session.

Right.

So you'll see this pop up contextually when it's necessary.

Post test coaching is not done through your breakthrough coach.

It is done with our academic team.

So our academic team will schedule these coaching calls.

The person purpose is to go through a test that the child has recently taken where they did not get a 90 and to understand if the misses were a result of knowledge gaps or executive function like careless mistakes.

Basically these are recommended particularly in cases where kids have attempted the same grade level in the same subject multiple times and the knowledge gaps haven't gotten them over 90 yet.

So that's what this is here.

the current streaks.

Yeah, you can earn bonuses on alphas.

So the more days you string together where you're doing all your academic work, the longer your streak gets and the higher this multiplier goes up to two as a maximum.

Pretty awesome because when I show you how alpha bank works and the marketplace attached there, believe me when I say kids get really motivated for earning their streaks.

you got a quick calendar here showing the streak history and streak shields up to a maximum of five.

So if a child misses a weekday on a random Tuesday or something, they don't have to destroy their streak.

So streaks are earned by completing academic Work.

Or you can use some of your alphas to buy one.

And then you've got a little calendar reminder here for, for the next upcoming meeting with their breakthrough coach and easy way to join it as well.

Easy enough.

Okay, so that's the lay of the land.

I showed this earlier, but let's just pan back to a completed day.

You can see every subject except writing is completed here.

but this is what this thing looks like when it's filled in.

182 Alphas earned with the breakout on hover.

That's pretty cool.

380 academic XP.

That's awesome.

You can see how that broke out in this nice little racetrack for each subject.

Right.

The day is done.

We see 120 closed, plus a bonus of 260.

And it looks like that came in reading.

Also, you can see that our academic team has put a boost incentive behind reading to help incentivize this trial to complete more reading.

And.

Wow, did that work?

240 XP.

Looks like it really worked.

up here in the top right.

By the way, I skipped this earlier, but this is the total bank.

this child has 251 total Alphas, which.

Hey, you know what brings me to, let's click through our menus here.

Let's get over to alpha bank in a moment.

So, mastery track.

We saw this earlier.

This is just another way to access it.

Here on the sidebar.

I can click through each subject.

Child can see where they've been and what they have today and a preview of what's coming next.

I will call out one feature here, which is this test out feature.

So if your child is like, geez, I'm in grade two or grade three, I feel like I can do this.

I know everything.

You know, I'm ready, I'm prepared.

These questions are too easy.

they may be right about that.

It happens from time to time with a kept calibration, particularly with new students is still sort of baking.

The child can take an opt in test out.

Basically, they can decide I'm ready to test just by clicking right here.

They take the test and they must earn a 90.

Now you can only do this per grade level one time where the student bets on themselves to say they can get above a 90.

If they do get above a 90, boom, they move on to the next grade level.

It's fantastic.

It's great.

so that's what this test out means.

Otherwise they just jump in where the, box is sort of, outlined here to jump into the next skills.

To continue building toward our recommendation for taking the test, we'll quickly cover badges.

It's a cool way to see progression and academic achievements.

I'm assuming, most of you are familiar with how badges work.

They meet the mastery component.

These badges look light up.

It's a cool place to showcase all the important work that they've done.

I know I've alluded to it three or four times.

Down here at the bottom left, let's take a look at alpha bank.

So when kids do academic work, yes, they learn xp.

That's the academic currency.

We're also giving them a real currency that they can use in multiple different ways, called alphas when kids do academic work.

And are these alphas?

they can allocate them to a checking account where they can spend them, or they can allocate them to a savings account where they can earn weekly interest.

Right now, the interest rate is set at 2%, compounding weekly.

Not bad.

when you put alphas in your savings account, you can't touch them for a little while.

They're locked.

And you can see that shown here, 111 alphas that can't be spent while they're earning interest.

Once they're out of that lock period, you can slide them over to checking or leave them there if you want.

transfer, just like bank transfers, by the way, your kids will get a paycheck every week.

you can see the, financial acumen showing up strong here.

I hope they can move money between checking and savings or they can spend them.

And this is the current lay of the land in our marketplace.

any one of these gift cards, the screen goes on for a good while.

they buy these.

Instant redemption.

We send, the redeemed gift cards to the parents, mom or dad, guardian, whoever is listed.

and they can see order history.

Pretty darn cool motivating.

If you're thinking about, like, hey, my child needs an allowance or some sort of earning program, this is not a bad place to start.

When kids start connecting hard work to real rewards, folks, that is a pretty good jump start for you across each piece.

I didn't even talk about.

You can see the weak views here.

Maybe I clicked on it a couple of times.

But, pretty good lay of the land and foundation for you for what your children will interact with each day, inside of time, back anywhere.

It is really, really cool.

This is really really awesome.

How about we change stations to what we developed for you?

So let's go to the parent view and the parent view, will start on the dashboard like this.

Now your parent Parent view is sitting at Parent Alphaanywhere Co it's the same place that you likely began your enrollments minus a few families who have been with us for a very, very long time.

this is where all other families started the journey.

you went and did the diagnostic testing here.

we've tried to pull everything back to this one place.

So when it comes to where do I go for X or where do I go for Y, it's always this one place.

So you've got a lot of abilities here too.

So when you start when again we're looking at sort of a contextual example here.

But when you start, we're going to start you with the option to go through and it is recommended to go through this brief parent orientation here at the top.

And just to get yourself basically familiar with the lay of the land.

It can be disorienting starting a program like AlphaAnywhere, and sort of getting used to how it works because it is a strong contrast from traditional education and what a lot of us did when we were younger.

So this is highly recommended.

Once you complete it, it might sit there for a little while reminding you that it's here and you can revisit it whenever you like.

This next blue box is specific for summer families.

it's just a quick way for them to enroll in the full program.

If you don't see that, don't worry.

The third box here is for live support sessions.

We still host these as of the time we're shooting this informative video for you where you can use this portal to jump right into those sessions.

Those are hosted by our parent experience and program advisor teams, often visited by our academic teams as well, where you can ask questions and get answers, if you prefer sort of live back and forth rather than email or chat support.

So those are offered with times upcoming right here and again just clicking the Join the zoom, 10 minutes before the next session starts.

You can jump right into that session.

Now you also have a preview in box number four showing you what your learner, your child has upcoming on their calendar.

You saw this over in their view.

You have a similar view here.

The next section here is the name of your advisor and the Ability to book a call.

Again if you.

The group format doesn't make sense, chat doesn't make sense, email doesn't make sense.

You've got something that might take a little bit longer to explain or more context.

every family is paired with an advisor.

You can book a call with that advice right here.

Super easy.

Then we have sort of the ability to jump into our child's account.

Now just like you saw over in the child's view, we have a left menu here with a lot of places for you to jump.

If we go to manage accounts before I click on this child's account, if we go to manage account, you can see this is like where I would make billing decisions, profile edits, things like that.

I'm not going to go too far into that.

I just want you to know that it's there.

and then the feed, we try and push information to your feed in real time where we can help meet you with the communication based on what's happening with your child's academic progress so that you can understand, support and work with us collaboratively to help support your child's learning journey.

So rather than sending bulk emails and assuming everyone's at the same place, you might need a contextual message which you can find right here in the feed.

Now if we go down to learners which I've just clicked on, we'll give this a minute.

Here is your ability to sort of get an eye into how your student is progressing a day at a time, a week at a time, along with a lot of other really helpful views.

And you can see, I've chosen the same student here so if I go back a day to yesterday, you can see all of these again are filled in except for writing the same thing we just saw on the student view.

Now yes, this does say the daily goal is missed with six out of seven subjects.

But remember that writing was supplemental.

That may have been okay.

It may be a family design we do recommend.

Everything else is completed though to maximize the learning speed and growth of your child.

Now if I wanted to click on either of any of these subjects, we'll just choose math and jump into one.

So you can see the example.

You get a pretty good digest here of where they've been, what they've done, the app they've been in, the working accuracy they were working at, the XP they earned and the date that it occurred.

Really, really good digest.

I don't know that I need to go further into this, but I could scroll around and just show you like what did my child do on Thursday?

You can go back and see what your child did on Thursday and you'll get a similar view for all of the subjects.

Now if I click over to mastery, we're going to get a slightly different view.

Mastery is going to be more based on grade levels rather than individual skills.

So you get this sort of this graph view showing the grade levels as your child progresses through each of those end of grade level mastery tests when it occurred and what the results were.

And there's some really good hover dynamics here.

And obviously for the ones that are flat like these here, you can see the test was not mastered.

That was an 88.

This was an 84.

Again, 90 and up is all that counts, which is why the grade level did not advance.

And this is perfectly normal.

It is designed into the program that the child's not going to, going to likely pass every single test on the first attempt.

It might take a few.

When that happens, they're going to get served whole filling skills based around the questions that they missed on the test.

And so what you see here is one attempt, pass.

One attempt, pass.

One attempt, pass.

And then it took two unsuccessful attempts before we got the pass again.

Again, totally normal.

This gives mom or dad a great view into what happened and when within each subject.

Super helpful.

Right?

And if I change subject, we'll change data, and you can see the curves all change.

Very, very cool.

Super easy to use.

If I flip over to the schedule, this is an eyeball into my student's schedule.

this is going to start to flesh out soon with life skills expansion and kids who are getting into coaching rhythms.

You'll see all of these sort of synchronous time demands of your child when they need to be somewhere and what it's for right here in this easy, easy, excuse me menu to glimpse into their schedule reports.

Hey, check this out.

you have the ability to choose a start and an end date and generate an academic transcript.

Now why is an academic transcript so valuable?

So remember we are a program, not a school.

So if you decide later that your goals have been met here and you want to move on from alpha anywhere and take you sort of what my child did here inside this accredited program, choose a start date and an end date and hit.

Generate transcripts right here and you'll get a wonderfully gorgeous Report showing you and you can use for anything you'd like what your child was able to master while they were here.

It's very cool.

I want to make sure that you all know this is here and then if you'd like to pan down and look at kind of where things started, kind of a good glimpse back to the past.

This is that assessment, your child took back when they started here, you've got a reference for that as well.

and by the way, I'm not going to go into the learning plan, but the learning plan is, is right here as well.
