Resourcing Redesign Overview 📊

Hi, welcome to this overview video for the resourcing redesign.

so first let's actually turn off the feature so you can see how things look in the what I'll refer to as the legacy resourcing.

so that we can then contrast so let's go into the resourcing by person page or resourcing by project page sorry and then you will see here that this is how the legacy resourcing looks where you have various controls in terms of how you can manage your resourcing.

few limitations in terms of like if you used to have you have budget level resource projects then in the legacy resourcing you cannot really manage them.

You have to go into the individual project view.

And there are other limitations such that you cannot easily bulk shift projects, budgets etc.

So in the new resourcing which you can just turn on if you are enrolled in the early access then you just go to beta features and then you can turn here you can turn it off and on.

So in this case I'm going to turn it on and then you will see that you get the new interface wherein basically you have pretty much functionally very similar kind of things going on where you can see all your projects that have resourcing.

If you choose to check these boxes you can see more of the unresourced projects etc.

basically the legend or the color scheme explains how we treat the color code, the cells which is a bit different than in the legacy resourcing in terms of simpler kind of like color scheme making it more accessible and intuitive.

and then in terms of what you will see here now in the resourcing by project page is that just as you are able to inline edit your project level resource projects, the same convenience is now offered to budget level resource projects as well.

So you can manage whether it's a budget level resource project or a project level project.

You can manage your overall portfolio in one place.

if I hop back into the individual project resourcing screen which is the other page that is currently available in the redesign.

you will see in this case it's a budget level resource project and I can have access to some new functionality that are in response to customer feedback where you can now see that you can do multi period shifts where you can shift out booking not just one to the right, but also you can shift out multiple months etc.

In addition you have access to now shifting your entire budget by shift budget and or your entire project by shift project.

And this is available in both the individual project resourcing page as well as the resourcing by project screen.

and then one thing to call out is that often in the budget level resource projects customers had given feedback that why do we show like the same like If Hugh Jackman happened to be resourced in one budget why do we show Hugh Jackman in all budgets and it just created unnecessary noise which has now in the legacy resourcing it used to create unnecessary noise and that is now tackled by only showing the people who are resourced by the budget until you click show unresourced people.

In which case all the people who are assigned to that project will be shown per budget as per expectation.

so that's pretty much the scenario of the changes that are available to you if you are participating in the early access.
