Fixing HTML to PPTX export issues with Artefact 🚀

Okay, so I wanted to share an example of why Artifact exists, and the problem that we're trying to solve here.

So here's an example of a PowerPoint presentation, that I asked Claude Design to build for me based off of a, I guess a thesis that I wrote around an AI first go to market operating system.

So what you'll see here is it's generated the deck.

And let's assume that I'm happy with the deck as it is.

What you'll notice up here is the output format is actually HTML.

So what we'll do for the purpose of this, let's try and export this into PowerPoint.

I want it in an editable format.

So one that you know, we can open up in PowerPoint and make, make edits.

So let's go ahead and download.

Okay, let's open up that file now and what you'll see here is the fidelity of this as it's been designed here.

It's got all of my fonts, they're all standard fonts, you know, Google based fonts.

You've got some nice interactivity there in the way it renders on the page as you skip through the slides.

And then when you come here to the PowerPoint, it's completely lost, the integrity of what you've just built and the fidelity of what you've just built.

As soon as you've just burned tons and tons of token like Claude design is very expensive.

Output is beautiful in terms of what it designs.

But then this is really the problem I'm trying to solve.

The minute you try and export those beautifully designed HTML artifacts into PowerPoint or Google Slides, it just completely breaks.

So the intention for Artifact is that you send these HTML files into the Artifact system.

You can then do that, share that securely behind either a magic link or a password protected link.

You can get feedback so you can collaborate on those on those files.

I'm working on and it's, it's in beta right now, being able to do some basic inline editing using AI, of the HTML artifact once it's uploaded into our system.

but then you can just completely do away with the need for PowerPoint and slides and you can just present straight out of the Artifact platform.

So if I show you an example of that.

So let's just open up this presentation file that I have here and the whole idea is that this is also an artifact that I built out in Claude, and then when you want to go and present it, so if I want to share it, I just do the magic link or I create a password and I share the link and the password.

I can take commentary and feedback on that slide.

But then if I want to present, I just go full screen and bang.

It keeps the full fidelity of the slide deck that's been created.

so we don't lose any of that wonderful design.

You don't lose the you don't lose like the fonts, you don't lose the integrity and the fidelity.

It all remains as it was when it came straight out of Claude design or whatever your other chosen platform was.

So, hopefully that's useful and hopefully that explains better.
