Understanding the MAP Screener 📝

Hi there, Alpha families.

My name is Joe, and I'm, here to talk to you a little about the map screener stage that you're sitting on right now.

I recognize you're probably just in the enrollment process and maybe still, full of questions about alpha anywhere and wondering why these tests exist in the enrollment process.

Well, I'm, here to answer that for you.

These tests are put on by the nwea, who have been doing these tests across millions of kids for decades.

And the reason that these tests are included as part of the enrollment process is they're going to help you and us both know some important information about your child.

These tests are going to take place in the four core subjects.

Those are math, reading, language arts and science.

As your child completes all of these tests one at a time, which each take about 25 minutes or so, although they are not timed, and at the end of completing all of those tests, you are going to get a custom learning report which is going to show you approximately where your child would start in the program based on their mastery within each of those subjects.

Not based on their birthday, not based on their birth year, but based on what they truly know.

Once they begin with the program, we'll go through a further step of validating their fluency in each of those subjects to ensure we've got just the right level of difficulty and dialed in.

You get these, report this report and participate in these tests, completely at no charge, no obligation.

This is there for you and your child or your family to help better understand what you'll be getting from the program and how to start thinking about the growth that you can expect.

There's one important tip for, the parents and the caregivers here, and that is not to help your child, not with, answering questions or nudging towards specific answers, not, allowing them to use calculators.

We want to ensure we're truly getting a clear signal on what your child actually knows in each subject so we can tailor the difficulty for them later with accuracy.
