How to Fully Onboard with Sent 🚀

All right.

Hello everyone.

Welcome to the how to do onboarding video with sent.

This is Kevin, your favorite technical account manager with a brand new haircut.

Guys, come on, give me some compliments.

all right, today I'm going to be walking you through how to onboard with sent, what each part of the process means and what are best practices, suggestions as well.

So you can see here, I just created my account, I added a payment method and I skipped the playground.

So I just arrived to the dashboard, but I want to continue onboarding.

So, just to be clear, this is what we use for whenever we want to have our own identity, write our own branding, our own messages, we go through the full onboarding, whether it be, you know, for SMS rather for WhatsApp.

The idea is customized messages and customize branding for us.

So we go over here to continue onboarding.

You can see here, I'm going to pretend my business is called Kevin's Donuts.

That's me, that's my email and I am the founder of Kevin's, donuts.

All right.

And we are registered in the United States and this is a fake tax ID number, but please make sure this is real All right, so now comes the part where we explain a little bit about how sending SMS works and what this all means right here.

So you can see here we're asked, where do you send traffic?

There's a couple different distinctions.

So first off, if we're going to send sms to the US, you do have to go through what's called 10 DLC registration.

I made a whole separate video about it.

it's linked probably somewhere else in the docs.

but essentially you do have to submit your brand, your campaign, get it approved and verified.

We'll help you every step of the way.

But it is usually the most strict, of all the countries to get approved and registered.

however, if you're going to send internationally, it can be a bit easier.

Some countries, and I say for sms, some countries require registration and some countries don't.

And in these countries that don't require registration, you can just have what's called an alphanumeric sender ID and send these messages there, as your brand.

So you can see here there are some restrictions, three to 11 characters, letters, numbers and spaces only.

but I mean, if I want to call myself K Donuts, for example, or Kev's Donuts, I think that's under 11 characters.

Maybe I'm not.

Anyways, this is what this field is for.

So again, this is for international sms.

Even if you're not sending international right now, I suggest just filling it out in the future.

Let's say you do have a customer and we'll say Mexico, for example.

This way we already have the branding established.

All right?

And then down here we want to select the countries that we were going to message to.

So let's just pretend in my case I'm going to send to the US and Mexico.

That's pretty much it.

Okay, so it's not 11 characters.

We'll just call it K donuts.

All right, so now we're on the compliance side of the house.

I went a little bit deeper into this for my 10 DLC video.

however, I'm just going to go through this real quick, in case you haven't seen that one.

up here at the top, we're going to choose our expected messaging volume.

Ballpark here is totally fine, guys, we don't have to be super exact.

And then down here we're going to select the use case.

So, select all that apply for what you think you might be doing in this case.

I'm going to keep it super simple just to.

And down here under add details, we have some really handy suggest buttons.

So if this is the first time that you've done a campaign submission and you're not sure exactly what's going to get approved or what I should even put in here, that's what we have this for.

We generate something that has a very high chance of approval and more likely than not has a good understanding of your business and what you're trying to do based on the business and the use case that you selected.

So you can see here, Kevin stone had sends a lock and verifications.

Sounds about right.

Sample message looks pretty good to me down here.

Under the privacy policy and the terms and conditions, these are both fake, but please ensure that you do have, these active or else your campaign will get rejected.

And over here, I've pre generated some call to action and opt in messages.

But essentially call to action is going to be, you know, how does somebody actually opt in or choose to receive messages from your business?

You can see here, in my case, they go to my website and they sign in or they check a box on the signup form.

So please be descriptive here.

If you do have anything that's behind a login screen, do suggest including a public screenshot URL so the regulators can click into that and see that if a opt in is not publicly available.

All right, over here we got the opt in message as well.

We're going to hit save and continue.

All right.

Okay, so now we're on the weba connection side.

So, let's go ahead and click on login with meadow.

All right, so you can see here it will prompt you to login with your personal account.

And every WhatsApp business account is tied to a personal Facebook account.

So don't, you know, get caught off guard with this.

It's Completely normal.

You can see here, I've got my personal.

And here it's going to prompt you to connect your account to us.

This is going to give us access to your weba and it's okay if you don't have one.

By the way, you can create one at this point.

Throughout this flow, I'll go through the whole process just to make things easier.

So first off, you do have to create a business portfolio.

In this case, let's call it Kevin's Donuts.

No, it's not a real website.

Okay, make sure you have a real website.

And there we go.

Okay, cool.

So we created the business portfolio.

This allows you to have multiple WhatsApp business accounts under that portfolio.

So we're going to go ahead and create one here because we haven't made one before.

And this is going to be for Kevin's Donuts.

The best donuts maybe in the whole world.

Definitely in the US.

All right, so make sure that we're going to hit yes, confirm to give sent, access.

And if you already have an existing WhatsApp account, just select the one that you already have.

This is just for those people who maybe don't even have one and want to start messaging with what so, all right, so now we're ready to chat.

Woohoo.

Let's celebrate.

over here on the left side you'll see add payment method.

I do suggest clicking on that and going through the entire flow.

I actually do have another video that walks you through how to do business verification on WhatsApp.

adding your payment method and verifying your phone number.

So I'll link that somewhere around here.

but for now, just to get through the onboarding flow, I'm going to hit finish.

But just so you know, you do have to finish that before you can start sending messages with sent.

All right, cool.

So now you can see we are selecting a number.

So you have two different options.

One is get a provision number and two is use your own phone number.

So you might be wondering, what do I pick?

What do I do?

What we suggest is if this is your first time, having or creating a WhatsApp business account, just do get a provision number.

We'll get the number for you, we'll automatically verify it and it will be the same number.

In the U.S.

for example, if you're sending SMS, so you have that brand continuity, you only have one number to manage, everything's going to come from the same one.

So really this is the easiest path if you're just getting started.

If you do have an existing phone number as you can see right here with your WABA account, maybe you're a big business migrating over from one provider over to sent.

this is what I would suggest.

So if you use your own existing number, you can put it in here, WhatsApp will send you verification code and just make sure that you do verify it.

But for this example we're going to go with get a provision number.

All right, cool.

So now you can see the WhatsApp business account has been connected successfully.

You can see my business ID as well as the actual WhatsApp number.

So in this case I've been auto assigned a 202 number.

Again this will be the same one that once my 10 DLC gets approved will be the same number that I sent SMS from.

So down here you will see a couple of errors.

Again I do have a video that shows you how to fix these.

This is crucial if you want to send messages.

All your messages will get blocked unless you complete all of these.

So we'll just skip this for now.

But again please take care of this.

All right, cool.

So now we're going to confirm our payment method.

As we added this in the beginning, it's already preloaded our payment method.

If we do want to add any balance we can do this here and then we're going to go ahead and review and submit.

All right, looks like all my information is good, all my business details are good.

And then messaging down here as well.

Yep.

Just want to do the two effect.

All right, so that's pretty much it.

once you get to this point, if you have completed everything from the meta side in terms of those errors that it threw earlier, you will be good to onboard.

if not, it will direct you to go take care of that before you complete onboarding.
