New Checkout Analytics: Segmentation & Funnel Analysis 📊

How many people landed on the website, how many people added to cart, who got to checkout, and what percentage of customers completed checkout.

It's okay, but what if there was something better?

So me and my team, we asked ourselves that question and we thought, well, why don't we just build it?

We released our new data and analytics platform earlier this year and and we design that entire system for this exact experience.

Shopify merchants using checkout components can now see what's actually going on in checkout at each step, but not only for all customers, but but for each of their Shopify customer segments.

So right now, what you can see on the screen is what's happening for all customers in checkout.

I've preloaded some segment information for the past 30 days and I can quickly jump to what's happening for guest customers, what's happening for registered customers, This level of data and insight is available on every single Shopify customer segment that's configured on a store.

But it's not just checkout funnel analysis where you have this segmented view of what's going on in checkout.

It's also your Checkout Components data too.

So you can see which components are performing best for each of my customer segments.

So again, registered customers from Australia, I might scroll down and click from New Zealand, for example, for this particular merchant.

And once this loads in and you know, shout out to the team for making this so performant, I can then see how these components are performing for that specific segment too.

I can also look at which products are being accepted by particular segments in upsell recommendations.

Earlier this year, the team and I got together and we committed to a really aggressive product roadmap and check out funnel analysis and segmented views of phase three of four.

The next phase is even more ambitious, but it's stitching together what we've shipped so far this year.

A new analytics and data platform, A B testing and segmented checkout funnel analysis.

I'm sure you can see where this is going, but this is about to be all stitched together and it's going to be absolutely brilliant.
