Today we're going to be walking through 10 DLC.

What is it and why is it important to start sending SMS to the US So welcome to Senate, you just signed up, you're super excited to send messages.

but you do have to register what's called 10 DLC before we start sending SMS to the US it's not that complicated, it's not that crazy.

I'm just going to break it down for you because it is required to send sms to the US so what exactly is 10 DLC?

It stands for 10 digit long code and that's just a really fancy way of saying a regular 10 digit phone number.

So the same kind that you would call someone from or text someone to, this one has just been registered specifically for business messaging.

The reason why this exists is a few years ago at&t& Verizon and T Mobile started cracking down on all these spam texts you were getting.

And I mean I don't want to get spammed, you don't want to get spammed by random people.

So this, this is sort of the prevention system to make sure that businesses have to register who they are and what they want to do before they just send messages to anybody.

The governing body of all this is called tcr, which stands for the campaign registry.

They are the gatekeepers between you and your users phones.

So really you just need to register two things.

First it's your brand.

This is going to be your business identity which has your company name, your ein, your address, all the stuff that proves that you are a real functioning, legitimate business.

Secondarily you're going to have to register what's called your campaign.

So this is going to describe what exactly you're texting about, right?

Is it appointment reminders, is it marketing promotions?

Do you want to do customer support via text?

Basically you pick out a use case and then you write a description of what exactly it's going to be and provide some sample messages once those are approved, by tcr.

First the brand and then the campaign.

Then your phone number, the one that you select through onboarding, which I'll walk you through here in a second, gets linked to your account and then, and you're good to go to send to sms.

Now to be clear, when you do get a campaign submitted and approved, that doesn't mean you only have to send the sample messages that you had submitted.

You can send things that are very similar to those sample messages, but you want to stay within the bounds that you did submit them for.

So, for example, if you said that you wanted to do a marketing campaign in general to send to your users whenever you Want to send 15% off your next order, for example, you can change it to 25% off.

You can do, hey, it's a Memorial Day sale.

We just want to make sure that we stay within the same category of message that we're sending.

All right, now we're going to switch over to the sent platform.

I'm going to walk you through how to actually do this on our platform and some suggestions on how to submit a branded campaign.

All right, so now we're in the sent onboarding flow.

It's going to bring you to this screen.

So what I mentioned earlier, with the brand information that we're going to submit, we want to make sure that everything is clean and matches what our businesses register it as, as well as our contact information.

And then over here you can see we want to make sure we have the website URL as well as our business legal name.

for example, you know, Kevin Suites llc and maybe this is a, subsidiary of this entity.

Then from there we're going to fill out our country registration, make sure we have the right business type and address and fill out our tin information.

This will be used as part of the business verification process.

So make sure this is correct as well.

Moving on here to where do you send send traffic?

So I'm going to assume for this video we're only going to send to the US right here for sender id you can fill that out to whatever you want it to be.

That is mainly used for international sms.

So let's say I do expand to a country like Mexico.

In the future we're going to use the sender ID as the source of the sample if you will, for what we're going to appear as when we send messages to Mexico.

So you can skip this part for now.

What we want to do is select us down here All right, and after we select the country, you can see here, we'll move over to the campaign compliance side.

So first we're going to pick the number of messages we expect to send.

right now I'm only going to do a thousand a day.

If we do go over 2000 a day, it would change the type of submission.

But just to keep things simple, we'll keep it here.

Down here you're going to have all the different 10 DLC use cases that they have listed.

You can go through check and see which one matches up with what you're trying to send best, and then select that.

So I'm going to do a marketing campaign and go down here to add details.

And now you can see all the different fields that we have to fill out.

So of course there's a couple different ways to opt into messages.

Whether it's you're at the store, maybe you do it online, maybe check a box in a form.

You just want to make sure that we describe generally how exactly a user signs up for these messages.

Sometimes if you do have a login or an opt in form that might be behind a login screen, it's not publicly available on the website.

So now I've completed everything, I'm going to go ahead and continue All right, so I've skipped forward past a couple steps here, including the WhatsApp onboarding and the payment method.

But now you can see onboarding has been complete.

So what's going to happen from here is the information that you submitted, via the brand and the campaign portion is going to be reviewed by our compliance team and then submitted over to tcr.

From there, any sort of changes or feedback that we need to give you, we will via email.

We'll help you through it.

We'll make any sort of suggestions that we think is going to be best to get approved and then from there, either resubmitted to TCR or if it was good to go the first time, let you know that it has been fully approved again.

They do have to, say that both the brand and the campaign have been vetted and verified for you to send sms.

So until you get that notification from us that you're good to go via tcr, you will not be able to send any SMS to the US Good thing is we do get branded campaign approvals in as quick as the same day.

Sometimes it can take a couple business days.

But just know that we're doing our best and we're doing our quickest to get these things approved.
