How to Merge Duplicate Claims in Voyager 📁

In the event that you receive an external submission from a counterparty for a claim that already exists within your Voyager portal system, you can merge the claims together to prevent any duplication of workload on your claims manager list or data in your reporting.

First you need to find your claim.

You can filter by source or look in the column to find your external submissions.

You can hover over that external pill to see the submitter on the right side you'll see three dots expand menu.

If you click on Merge, you will automatically filter the claims manager for potentially relevant claims that could be the duplicates.

Here I have my selected claim on top with the little merge icon and I have it automatically filtered for the vessel of that claim.

It also requires a filter for the same claim type and for payable claims and for internal or user created as the source.

You also must choose a claim with an editable status, meaning once it's settled or in the invoicing process, you can no longer use this claim.

You can change your additional filters here or even remove the vessel if you desire.

These are really meant just to help you find your claim.

You can hover over the initially selected external claim to cancel the merge or select an internal claim as target.

The merge claim module will allow you to see some information about your originally selected external claim and your selected target internal claim to confirm you are making the right selection before the merge.

This is very important as the merge cannot be undone.

Under this you will see an email message.

This will default populate with some wording, but you can make any adjustments you desire and type something new.

And when you confirm your merge, this message will be sent out to the counterparty that originally submitted the claim.

Now you can see the merge has been successfully completed.

You can see the merge claim or close and go back to the claim manager.

In the merged claim within the timeline you can see that there was a merge and you can get a link to the originally submitted claim which is now locked but available for review.
