Master Bible Teaching with the Encounter Method 📖

Either way, if you want to know for a fact that when you teach the Bible, you are teaching it with the faithfulness and accuracy.

For the next 10 minutes, I'm going to show you what we call our encounter method.

It's a, method of studying and teaching the Bible that helps people to encounter God's word to themselves.

Now I know what you might be thinking.

Who in the world is this chick?

Well, my name is Erin Piner, and I have lots of degrees.

I have this Master's in Theological studies, and then I have this other master's in Theological studies, which was kind of the same thing, except for it took a way bigger paper.

And then I also have this PhD in applied theology, which also required a very big paper and lots and lots of money.

When you put those three things together, that's about $50,000 of theological education and, over seven or eight years.

And I went to seminary to learn all the stuff so that you don't have to.

I also was a missionary for over six years.

I've been teaching the Bible for over 20 years.

And my buddy Rachel, who hops in as a coach, also has a Master's in divinity.

But most importantly, the two of us together, we actually teach the word to, to real women in the real local church.

And I would say, by far, the local church is where I received the best investment for to become a Bible teacher.

So that's who I am.

Now let's look at some other important stuff, like who do I help?

So I help women who are already teaching or who want to be teaching really soon.

So this is stage teachers, small group leaders, disciple makers, curriculum writers, book writers, chicks who make chicks for coffee all the time, right?

So the women that I like to help are usually women who have the heart, right?

You love God and you love the women that you teach or mentor.

But you're missing a method, right?

And you're also missing a coach to come and give you feedback to point out, hey, I think you actually missed the interpretation of that text, or I think the way that you taught that was a little bit too heady.

Or I think we could have made that a lot more pretty practical.

Right?

You're missing feedback.

So the women that we usually help are not beginners, right?

So if you don't even know how to share the gospel, or if you don't know the basics of the gospel, if you couldn't share the gospel in two minutes, then you probably need to level up a little bit more.

You can go look at our free stuff before you consider the mentorship.

These are usually women who, when they study the Bible, they end up depending a lot on Bible study notes or commentaries or looking stuff up on the Internet.

Women who have a high level and a high respect for scripture, but who don't really know how to dig out the gold for themselves.

So that's the kind of women that we usually help.

Now, let me tell you who this mentorship is not for.

It's not for devotional readers only.

Okay.

Do you want to just want to pick out a theme from scripture and run with it, get some practical applications?

That's great.

I love that for beginners.

But we're looking for a level or two above that.

If your goal is just to ask, what does this scripture mean to me, I'm going to go ahead and tell you.

We think that scripture doesn't mean different things to different people.

We want to ask, what did this scripture mean to God?

We want to find out that truth, and then that's what we're going to stick to.

So if you have a more squishy way of looking at scripture, you probably don't want to sign up for us.

We're not going to be a lot of fun for you to work with.

Also, if you're looking for pastoral training, we are complementarians, which means that we think the role of pastor is reserved for qualified men.

So now we value women Bible teachers, obviously, and we want to see our lane, and we want to sprint in our lane.

But we're definitely not about equipping women to be pastors.

We don't believe that that's biblical.

But if you are a woman who wants to handle the Word with care and get coaching on your actual teaching, like get coaching on your actual advice for mentorship, get coaching on your actual curriculum, that's what we're here for.

So we can make a customized plan for, for you to grow.

Specifically, I'm going to walk you through the Encounter method, which is our little unique mechanism for studying and teaching scripture.

And then we're going to look at the teaching labs inside of our PRO mentorship.

You're going to see our one on one coaching offerings.

You're going to see those teaching lab offerings.

You're going to learn more about how you can come and teach and get feedback.

You're going to learn more about our Q and A sessions and the kinds of questions we would expect during that.

There's not more teaching videos in there.

There's not like an advanced course that we're hiding behind the paywall.

Now, I'm going to be really frank with you.

All of the business coaches that have talked to us have said we need to keep our advanced coaching for this pro membership.

But I really don't like the idea of keeping my advanced coach coaching behind a paywall.

That feels bad to me.

If I can educate every woman in the world for free, I want to do that so there's not extra content.

And then we point out blind spots, and then you get better every time.

And what we realize is a lot of people practice teaching the Bible, but they never get feedback, so they never get better.

So they end up practicing it wrongly several times.

And practicing something the wrong way doesn't actually make you any better.

So we give you feedback.

So as you practice, you actually get better and better.
