Collecting Player Payments on Entry 💰

Hi everyone.

James here from Golfify.

so in this video we're going to talk about how you can collect payments from players, when they enter the event.

so this is going to be the standard flow for lots of events where you invite the players or you share the event link with players and the player will sign up themselves and pay the money when they enter the event.

There is another way of collecting payments on Golf 5, which we call manual invoicing.

So if you want to directly add your players into the event, and this helps in terms of getting things organized, getting your tee slots arranged, getting everything, set up, you can use the manual invoicing tool to issue, invoices to players after you've added them to an event.

So, there's another video with the information on that.

So I, encourage you to, if that's more interesting to you, please go ahead and find that video.

But for this video we're going to talk about the whole invite flow and allowing players to join events and pay entry fees, when they do so.

So to get started, I have an event here called Golfy Invitational, and I'm going to tap the shortcut here to go, go to our players, and then I'm going to invite a player.

Now you don't actually need to invite a player to allow them to pay the entry.

if you just share the link for your event with a player, they'll be able to go on, log on to the on onto the event home screen and they'll be able to enter into the event, providing you've got entries set to open.

but if you invite it, it does add a little bit more structure, and it'll also automatically send the invitation to the player.

So I'm going to tap invite, and I'm going to tap, invite Nelly Corder and that will show up now, in the Golfify event there to say that, she's been invited.

And then what I'll do is I'll switch devices and just show you how this looks from Nellie Corder's point of view, and the process that it's involved for the players.

So we're now on Nelly Corder's device, here.

And if we go down to the invitations, we can see that she has this invitation to the Golfify Invitational, which she can tap view.

for most players this will be the main thing, on their home screen if they're not in any other live events.

so, yeah, this will be really easy to find for players.

All they need to do is sign in, to their account.

They also get a notification up here as well, which has, the information about the event they've been invited to.

So they can tap that and go straight through to it.

the players will also receive an email with all the information on how to get into the event.

So once they're on the event home screen, you can see they've got this invitation widget.

So this displays if the player has been invited.

If the player has not been invited and they're just on the screen, it will have a button there to enter the event.

so you can see it's got response needed and there's two options.

So Nelly can decline the invitation, which will let the host know that she can't play for this event.

and then the host will be able to see that in the decline section on their player manager.

but in this case we're going to go ahead and enter the event.

So we can press accept and enter.

You can see now we have the event entry price in there.

So there's another video where we set up the payment, settings for the event.

So please go ahead and watch that if you've not already.

but basically, you can set the event entry price and that will now show up.

Nelly can also add another player to this booking so she can go into a, buddies there or she can just add a new player from scratch, using this form here.

So she's got friends, who want to play with you.

She can add those into the booking.

So now we've got two players on this booking and I'm going to go ahead and press, review and pay.

Now we left the toggle.

So the Golfify application fee is being paid by the player.

So you'll see now that we have this Golfify application fee which is just being calculated, that will be added to the booking.

And then if we go ahead and press confirm and pay, that's going to take us through to the stripe checkout.

Okay, so now we're in the stripe checkout page.

I'm going to use link to make this payment so I'm just going to hit pay.

And you can see now we've landed back in the Golfify app.

The payment has been complete.

The player then just pressed done.

And they can see they are now entered into this event.

we didn't include the select tee slot in the, in the settings for this event so the player wasn't able to choose their own tee slot, but you can enable that.

and then the player will be able to select their own tee slot and you won't need to assign them for them.

But in this case, the player has been entered into the event.

They don't have a tee slot yet, but they can go in to see the registration, and they can see that their tee time is still pending.

They can also view their entire party that they booked in.

So if they want to they can go ahead and leave the event, if they want to, and yes, they can also see a summary of the transactions there down below.

So, yeah, that's a very quick overview of what it's like for the player to pay their entry, and the view that they get.
