James here from golfify.
00:02
And in this video we're going to look at how we set up payments for an event on golfi.
00:07
So payments are currently available in both the single round events and the multi round event competitions.
00:14
So to begin with, let's just go ahead and set an event up.
00:18
So if we press plus, we can either choose a single round or the multi round event and then we can select our game format.
00:23
I'm just going to keep this simple and go for a stroke play.
00:27
So you can now see on this menu we have this new option called Registration and Payments.
00:31
So if I tap that, it brings us into this flow.
00:34
Now in the previous step we discussed or the previous video we discussed how to connect your stripe account.
00:39
So if you've not done that, you need to go and do that now.
00:43
if you haven't done it, it will tell you here in this widget.
00:46
And if you have done it, it will have a nice green icon telling you everything is okay.
00:51
So you should see your stripe account already connected.
00:54
A thing to note is the event entry is open.
00:58
This means that players will be able to join your event when that's toggled on.
01:01
So if you don't want your players to be able to join right away, you can toggle that off.
01:05
Now, secondly here you can enable whether or not the player has the ability to choose their own T slot when they enter the event.
01:14
If you leave that off, players will not be able to choose their T spot.
01:18
Okay, so into the settings for the payments, you can actually choose whichever currency you want to, set your event up based, on these supported currencies on Golfify, however, the best currency to use is probably the one which your stripe account has been set up with.
01:38
so if I choose a different currency here, it will show me a warning saying that it's not the same currency that my stripe account is set up with.
01:46
this might be important due to exchange fees and the way stripe handles, fees received in a different currency to the one your account's been set up with.
01:56
So just be wary of that.
01:58
in my case, I'll go with USD at the top.
02:02
the next option is the player pays Golfify fee.
02:05
So Golfify does charge a small transaction fee.
02:08
and you can set this up, so that the player will pay this fee when they enter or you can absorb the fee in your price amount.
02:18
so, yeah, it's totally up to you which One you do.
02:22
If you toggle this off, the player will not see the golfi application fee at all and it will just be taken out of the gross amount, which is paid by the player.
02:33
if you leave that on the player, we'll see it.
02:35
okay.
02:36
And then finally you have the event entry at the bottom.
02:40
And this is the value you're going to set for the event, entry.
02:43
You can tap that.
02:44
You can actually change the name of it if you wish.
02:48
right now we only support one type of payment on an event, and that's this event entry type.
02:55
and this will show up when the player enters into the event.
02:59
You can set a custom price and then hit save.
03:02
And it's as simple as that.
03:03
We've managed, to set payments up for our event.
03:06
and then when the player goes to join our event via the home screen of our event, they will need to pay that money in order to join the event.
03:16
I'll go ahead and create the event just to show you how this looks in reality.
03:19
Okay, I've created the event now and if I tap enter here, you'll see this takes us through to a, payment flow or a checkout flow.
03:28
The player can add any other players they want to, and if they add another player, that will increase the price at the bottom.
03:35
They can see we've now got two players being entered and they go to review and pay and process, the payment from there.
03:42
And that will go straight into your Stripe account.
03:45
We'll talk more about payments and, how to manage them on the app on another video.
