Demo: Wedge

In this video I'm going to give you a demo of my new product Wedge, which is a Chrome extension for sending data, to Clay.

So for anyone that has used Clay, you probably know that it's the best product in the world for creating data pipelines and enrichment for go to market and go to market engineering.

But there is still a gap where you might have a go to market engineer building out these pipelines.

But maybe somebody on your sales or marketing or revenue team actually wants to utilize these pipelines.

For example, somebody in sales might be on a website of a particular company or a contact and they want to send that to Clay, get it enriched for like using your specific pipeline and then push that to your CRM for example.

And so that's currently quite hard to do.

And so that's why I built Wedge.

So a quick note here is that Wedge is open source, completely free to use and MIT licensed.

So hoping that this will be of great use to the community.

But so to get started with it, you can start off by going to GitHub where you can just scroll down a bit to this quick install part.

You can click on latest release, you click on the zip and that will download the extension to your computer.

You just double click the zip to unzip it and, and then you can go to Chrome Extensions which lets you see all your extensions in Chrome.

Make sure that the developer mode is checked, otherwise I do not believe this will work.

And then you can choose Load Unpacked and then just make sure to select the unzipped file.

you select it, it gets installed.

And from here you can click your extensions and then scroll down.

You should see it here.

You can even pin it so it's always available here.

And then once you click it you'll see that you first have to add your very first webhook because this works through Clay webhook tables, which we'll see in just a bit.

So here I can click on new webhook and this takes you to the Manage webhook page or the overall settings page if you will.

and here you can actually import webhooks.

So say that you have a new salesperson, on your team.

you can both export and import full like webhooks, in this way as you'll see.

So here you might have had like a go to Market engineer that has set up the webhooks exactly how it should work with your Chrome extension.

And then the individual salespeople can just import it with one click.

of course you can also export and when you do you can choose if you want to include auth tokens or not as we'll again see in just a bit.

but here you can import as many webhooks as you want.

You can reorder them to be in the default order that you want and you can go in and edit them.

So here I have a webhook that I might want to send when I am prospecting for companies.

So you are essentially building out like a form to send data to a particular webhook in your clay table.

So here you can use some built in like things that we can pull immediately from a page, for instance the page URL and the page title as you'll see.

But you can also select other things.

So let's say that here I have also defined, let's say that we're a VC firm that wants to scope for or prospect for startups.

So then we can have startup name.

Should we add this to the CRM, the startup stage.

but let's say I also want to have notes.

Maybe I just want to capture some notes.

I can just go here, text and then scroll down.

Here it is and then I can just call it notes and set the JSON key.

That will be important later.

and I can set this to be required or not.

But let's say I want to have this as long text and again you can change the order of any of these inputs.

and here's a preview of the JSON as it will get sent to clay.

But so for now I'm happy with it and we can just click Save webhook.

and then we can go to a website.

So let's say that we go to clean Room's website and we click on the extension here we can choose which webhook we want to send data to that can be again defined as different webhook tables in clay.

But so here it's a company so it will auto load this data that it can pull from the website itself.

But let's say well the startup name here is actually Cleanroom.

I want to add this to my CRM.

Startup stage looks like it's pre seed and I might add a note looks promising and then I can click Send webhook And what happens then is that this gets entered here in a clay table where the source is defined here with the actual URL that you get to send webhooks to.

And then of course you can get a auth token if you want to.

And if so you just have to enter it, like as well.

And again, this is the actual webhook that you enter.

And here is the auth token if you want to have that.

but so this might have even gone a little bit too fast to see.

But, if I do this here, again, you will see.

For instance, now we are actually on Clay's website.

So here we can see that maybe I should just clean this up a little bit.

So I'll just say clay.com and I will just say Clay.

And here I might say startup name Clay add to CRM.

Startup stage is serious.

C plus Love Clay.

And then when I click Send webhook, it gets sent here and it gets enriched and it gets pushed to HubSpot.

And again, the actual data that gets sent you can see here, of course.

so that is really the big idea here with Wedge.

So very excited to see, how it will get utilized again over open source, free MIT licensed.
