In this video, I'm going to show you how to create payment schedules.
00:06
So we— as usual, we have started in our dashboard.
00:09
If you click Templates in the left-hand menu and go down to Payment Schedules, then you can click Add a New Payment Schedule.
00:17
I'm going to click into one that I've already created so that I can show it to you.
00:23
So in this payment schedule, you can see that I have two due dates.
00:27
One for immediately after the client has signed the contract.
00:31
That would be your retainer or deposit.
00:35
The other one I have is one month before the project start date.
00:39
I've got 50% set up at each of these intervals, but you can split that based on what your actual retainer is and then do the remainder percentage here.
00:52
As you create these due dates, you're going to do zero days.
00:57
After contract signed by client, enter your percentage, and then you're going to enter your reminder.
01:04
Now I have provided you with an email that is specifically designed to remind the client that until they have paid your retainer, you are not booked for their day.
01:14
So that's the reminder we want to set up for this payment.
01:18
So 2 days after the due date, we are going to send this reminder.
01:23
Retainer past due, and then click apply.
01:30
For your second payment, we need more reminders because this is going to be one month before their wedding, and so we want to remind them that they have a payment coming up, that they have a payment due today, and that they are past due.
01:44
Now remember that these past due reminders are not going to go if they make their payment, so you don't need to worry about that.
01:53
So we'll simply do 2 days before due date, select the email that I provided you for your payment due soon.
02:01
We'll select 0 days before the due date and select the email I provided you for payment due today.
02:08
And then 2 days after due date, you will select the email I provided you for payment past due.
02:14
Now you can change this number of days on all accounts to fit your business best, but this is always what I do.
02:21
Once you have filled in all those reminders, hit apply, and then voilà, your payment schedule is good to go.
02:28
Spend some time really thinking about when you need to get paid and how you can standardize it, and then set it up using these emails I've provided you.
02:36
You are ready to move on to the next lesson once you've got your payment schedules all set up.
