Welcome to the Crucible Writing school, where I help aspiring writers write, publish and market their books and build a sustainable author career.

Hi, my name is Yang and I've been teaching creative writing for over 10 years.

During this time, I've worked as a screenwriter, a story consultant, a script doctor, a writing coach, and now I work full time as a self published author.

I'm so excited to bring this community to you.

You know, when I first started this self publishing journey, I spent thousands of dollars buying courses, buying mentorships, watching YouTube videos and going on forums, asking people, trying to piece together all sorts of contradictory advice on how to do this.

And I was just sick of piecing everything together and wasting all of this money and time.

so that's why I created this community for serious writers who are just sick and tired of not knowing what to do when wasting time, wasting money and not getting results.

I want this place to be a one stop shop for everything you need to build your author career.

Because that is the journey that I'm on.

And I believe there is definitely a viable way, a sustainable way to go about it.

so why listen to me?

Like I said, I have over 10 years of teaching creative writing experience, story consulting, script doctoring, and I specialize in helping people fix what's broken in their stories.

I have a dual master's degree in screenwriting from afi, which is the American Film Institute as well as the Beijing Film Academy.

During this time I also run live workshops and online workshops and I work full time as a self published author and mentors.

So I definitely know the pain.

I definitely know the journey because I've experienced it myself and also countless times with working with mentees.

So what will you learn by joining the community?

The most important thing is how to validate your book idea before you spend months writing something nobody wants to read.

and I made this mistake when I first started, you know, just writing things I thought was cool and maybe it was cool but when it came time to publish and market it, I had such a hard time finding a market for this book and I became very dejected feeling like I wasted tons of money and time writing this thing that no one really wanted to read.

So I create a clear step by step path from uncertain idea to finished published manuscript.

Not just publish one book, but set yourself up for long term success.

Because at the end of the day, this is the long game.

This is a marathon.

You have to come in here with the mindset that I'm in this for the long haul.

You might start off just being like this might just be like a hobby of yours where this might just be a side hustle or you have aspirations of becoming a full time author.

the mindset is that there is no quick fix or quick silver bullet to suddenly become famous, win all these awards or go viral.

Yeah, it could happen to some people, but I don't believe that's a viable solution for most of us.
