Hello.
00:08
so I'm Nariel Lewis, I'm the founder of Rebel Media Agency and so nice to see you here, Mark, and just wanted to make sure you get a chance to introduce yourself.
00:17
Please talk to me.
00:18
What do you do and who do you serve?
00:21
my name is Mark and I am a project manager or fractional CTO or operations guy, COO.
00:29
And I've been doing this for 20 plus years.
00:31
And startups and agencies and God knows both of those types of verticals need people like me to keep the doors from getting blown off the side of the ship.
00:41
And and really we got connected, of course, and we started working together.
00:46
But before working with Rebel Media, what challenges were you maybe facing withoutbound marketing?
00:53
Just getting new projects and clients.
00:55
Like, how were you doing that before?
00:58
well, the problem was top of funnel.
01:00
I don't like playing the top of funnel game.
01:02
I'm not good at top of funnel.
01:03
And there's a number of ways to approach it, none of which honestly I'm really interested in putting my time into.
01:09
And I know that sounds lazy, but it's not a strength of mine.
01:13
mid funnel closing, I'm, I'm much stronger.
01:16
So that's, that's the problem that you solve is most directly is the top of funnel.
01:22
And as far as what I was doing before that, I, you know, play the like LinkedIn game.
01:25
you know, it, it's just, it's just the lead gen and delivering value and then the case studies and then you get them on a little discovery call or diagnostic call and like you're doing the same thing, you're just more direct and you're doing it with higher numbers.
01:40
and I just don't have two, three, four, five hours a day to spend on LinkedIn.
01:44
That's not where I want to have.
01:46
I would not like my life to be spent doing that.
01:50
And so really?
01:52
and, and I know like, you're, you're definitely aware there's just so many different ways to go about doing this and there's just so many actors and players within the marketplace.
02:04
Right.
02:05
constantly knocking on the door saying, hey, I can do X, Y and Z and I can get you a trillion billion leads and stuff.
02:14
And really looking at what's out there, maybe what made you decide to work with, RMA and what we got going on with 360 OS, like, maybe what stood out about our approach?
02:26
Well, I think that there's a lot of things I could talk about that are benefits, but you know, as far as like hooking that lead, I was part of, I was a target of your sis.
02:35
You were dog fooding and I was a target.
02:37
So you were using, you know, 360os.
02:40
What, what you guys are doing against me.
02:42
You had a reasonably good sort of standout pitch that cut through.
02:48
I gave you the typical, which you know about this stuff.
02:50
You, couple word response.
02:52
What else you got?
02:53
I vetted it and I am familiar with your business model and the technology that you're using.
03:01
I know people who are doing that and it's a viable way to approach the market.
03:08
And so I took the leap on that.
03:10
So really working with you and your team is a product of you and your team.
03:18
So if, if.
03:19
And I'm super sketch skeptical and nasty on, solicitations.
03:23
So the fact that I didn't just tell you to go stick it, and we did a phone call and you, you played the game and I, I cut through a lot of that fat with you.
03:31
I'm like, yeah, and we've been, we've been, you know, we've been operating honestly and, and from there I'm getting leads, I'm getting jobs, and, and so it's all a win.
03:40
And it's more of a win for me than any of the other services, trainings, business coaches, programs, or any of the other stuff I've gone through.
03:48
I know my job.
03:48
I can close leads, I can talk shop.
03:51
But sitting at the top of the funnel, playing that game is my weak spot or something I just am not interested in.
03:58
So by filling that gap, you allow me to do more of my job.
04:00
And it is, it is very, it is very, very worth it from my perspective.
04:05
I know your prices are going to go up soon.
04:11
That's, yeah, probably, yeah.
04:14
technology, agentic, AI, and everything that we're building.
04:19
but I love it.
04:21
And we've Been able to move fast.
04:23
And I'm sure you've probably noticed since what we're doing now, it's like, whoa, there's a lot of things being added all the time.
04:32
Yeah.
04:32
I'm a little lower touch on the internals with you guys.
04:35
And I'm trying to get more involved.
04:37
As you know, I'm getting involved with some more of the earlier in the leads, and I have my own CRM and tracking that I use for research.
04:45
So you have a great toolkit there.
04:48
but I have my own tools that I've been using forever, so I see the changes.
04:53
Yes.
04:53
I don't want to say I've been totally blind to them, but I'm focused on how can I help your team, how can I answer questions, how can I get involved with the email, how can I land and convert these people?
05:02
That's where I'm looking at.
05:03
And the underlying OS that you use.
05:07
exactly.
05:11
That's the wheels and the grease that keeps our operation really going so that we can, Basically every day.
05:18
Every couple of days.
05:19
yeah, here's another meeting.
05:20
Here's another lead.
05:21
This person, ideally.
05:22
Yes.
05:23
So, yeah.
05:24
So, well, if, lastly, how would you maybe just describe the quality of service working with the team?
05:31
Responsiveness?
05:32
What has that been like, for you, like, day to day?
05:37
I think that the team overall has been pretty responsive and higher quality.
05:43
I'll say this in a harsh way, but it'll come out as a compliment, hopefully.
05:47
it doesn't feel like I'm working with a bunch of VAs or something like that.
05:54
Right, right.
05:55
It feels.
05:56
I don't know where all of the players are, but the way they conduct themselves and approach this business, it feels very onshore to me, where I know I could quickly get involved with, with my favorite call center in Southeast Asia that could do a similar type of job as you, but, the quality of service, I would feel it would be not as good as you guys.
06:22
So I think that everybody's pretty knowledgeable.
06:24
You have a big team, there's feedback, you're working on normal operating hours.
06:28
We're all getting back to each other pretty quickly.
06:30
So, I mean, it does feel like I have an extended team, and ultimately you're filling out what I've always wanted.
06:39
You're not doing exactly what I want, but your closest so far, I.
06:43
You're kind of doing it.
06:44
I've always wanted an agent.
06:47
I think I've talked to you about this before.
06:48
I don't want to go through recruiters because their interest is.
06:51
Is not me.
06:52
I'm just.
06:52
I'm just cattle to them.
06:54
And I always wanted an agent.
06:55
And if you want 10, 20, whatever percent of my income for.
06:58
For lining up this stuff, using your.
07:00
Your contact pool or whatever, I like that better.
07:03
Yeah, I like that better because then you are on my side first and you are persistently on my side.
07:10
A recruiter is not on my side.
07:11
They're only here to get their commission to get.
07:14
And and there's other styles of placement, but, you know, in general.
07:19
Yeah.
07:20
Like, how much could we align on being on the same side of the table like every time rather than.
07:25
Because I realized, one of the biggest things and reasons why I even started this.
07:29
Right, because I've gotten burned, like, several times.
07:31
Right.
07:32
Where we're.
07:33
We're not on the same team.
07:35
No communication.
07:36
It's like I'm just handed off to some random person for three weeks at a time.
07:40
And So.
07:42
So, I haven't seen.
07:44
I've been with you many months now.
07:45
I haven't seen any turnover.
07:47
I've seen new people added, but not.
07:48
I don't know, I'm unaware of anybody leaving.
07:51
So that's a testament to you doing a good job and running a good team.
07:54
Or, I don't know, maybe you have some Epstein files on them.
07:57
I don't know.
07:57
But they're still there.
07:58
And those are.
08:00
Those are little indicators that I believe add to the value.
08:05
They're.
08:05
They're like meta indicators.
08:07
Yeah.
08:08
You know, if you were rotating through staff a lot, that would be.
08:11
That would have been a.
08:11
that would have been like, wow, why is everybody changing every other week?
08:16
Yeah.
08:16
Yeah.
08:17
And that's.
08:17
That's bad for any business.
08:18
Not just.
08:19
Not just this.
08:20
Exactly.
08:20
So.
08:21
Yeah.
08:21
So there's a lot of signs in there that I think that, I'm.
08:25
I'm very pleasantly surprised.
08:26
Again, I'm a skeptical person, but we're already.
08:30
We're going to be passing the threshold very quickly where it was absolutely worth it.
08:36
Like, it is worth it, but we're going into a direction where it's like, I'm just booking work and doing my work.
08:41
Yeah.
08:42
Yeah.
08:42
And it's like, I don't even really have to think about this other stuff here.
08:45
Yeah, I think very little about it.
08:47
Yeah.
08:47
I'm not totally withdrawn, but like.
08:49
No, this is great.
08:50
This is as close as we can come to an agent.
08:53
Yeah.
08:53
I love it.
08:54
And lastly, well, if someone was, I guess, on the fence about partnering with rma, and working with us, maybe like skeptical as well, about how we go about outbound.
09:05
What would you say to them?
09:08
I think it's twofold.
09:09
and I'm going to be honest, as we've talked about before, what you're doing is something that we can do right now and how available that is years down the road, I don't know.
09:23
But how you market, how you get leads, how you do lead conversion does constantly change and you are very in front of what I believe is one of the more effective methodologies to doing digital, lead generation, digital digital conversion.
09:39
So I think that that's one thing that's, that that would be like from a technical side, you're, you're playing a game that generally wins if you do it.
09:49
Good.
09:49
Okay.
09:50
Now as far as like tipping people over, I spent basically the same amount of money on a training course with a very good guy that I kind of learned a lot about.
10:04
And when I left that course it was still up to me to do all this crap.
10:09
Okay.
10:10
So when you think about it like, let's just say, you know, you're spending 5 or $10,000 on some training, you get a lot out of the training.
10:16
Maybe you clean up your LinkedIn profile, you learn how to, right, you know, better copy or better copy or something like that.
10:23
But then the course is over.
10:24
Insurer, you may still have support, you may have community on this other stuff.
10:27
I don't care about that.
10:29
I want the leads.
10:30
Because you leave that, you know, seven thousand dollar course, you still have to sit there and do the damn work.
10:35
You still have to sit on LinkedIn or emails four or five hours a day and I don't want, you still have to run ads or you still have to go speak at conferences and And she can, Your price is similar to a training.
10:47
Now obviously the engagement's a little bit different from a fiscal perspective, which is to be expected with this engagement.
10:55
But you know, your, your upfront cost is the same as one of these trainers.
11:00
And at the end of it I'm not having to sit there and you know, and source 20,000 leads.
11:07
Yeah, and source the leads and chase them all.
11:09
You guys filter it down to people who actually want to talk to me.
11:13
Great.
11:14
I go through it.
11:14
I do, you know, I, and as far as, you know, if you want to get this, I, you know, as far as getting information to people, we get the lead.
11:21
Sometimes there's a little bit of pre talk before, you know, the lead turns into something or maybe I'll go in and write some copy to connect with people.
11:29
Because you're not, you know, just to make it.
11:32
Make sure we speak up and then turn that into a call.
11:35
Yeah, and then.
11:37
Yeah, that's all I really wanted.
11:39
That's all I really wanted.
11:40
And.
11:41
And we were joking.
11:42
Previously.
11:42
I don't want to go on LinkedIn.
11:44
I don't want to man a bunch of email inboxes.
11:47
I don't want to, like.
11:48
No, you're doing.
11:50
You're playing.
11:51
You're playing the right game.
11:52
You're playing the right game.
11:53
And I.
11:53
And there's success in that, so let's keep that up, so.
11:56
Exactly.
11:57
Thank you so much.
11:57
So it is upward and forward from here.
12:00
So really, totally for your time here, Mark.
