My name is Sebastian Galindo.

I'm part of the EPIC Institute of Technology.

And, in this video, I'm going to present the final project for the real time backend course or the real time backend track that I'm part of.

So I'm going to present briefly, what is the platform, how the integrations works, and the general functionalities in the platform.

Well then we have here the landing page of the platform as a little bit of context, the platform is or it's built by the idea of having or connecting seniors or developers who have contributed to open source or for a certain project to students or junior developers who wants to contribute to open source.

So they can achieve the first contribution because there exists initial barrier with the concepts and project structure itself of the, of the open source project.

So the idea of the platform is to connect this to two sides.

the mentors can publish the listings and the students can enroll into listing and the mentors get paid for it.

there is a lot of information here about the problem, the value proposition and some others.

So for example the active mentorship listings.

So we have the login and register.

you could Sign up with GitHub or begin the onboarding.

we're going to create a student account here.

well we're going to see you could apply as a mentor.

but when you apply as a mentor you actually send the application for administrator or you have to wait an administrator approval so you can be a mentor in the platform.

So we're going to say video mentor, GitHub mentor.

We're going to continue some email mentor at osship app and the password will be the same.

I'm going to launch the account you begin as a student and your application will be sent for an admin review as a student.

you can also apply as mentor or link your contributions or if you want to link your pull request here to show to be shown in your profile.

we're going to log in as an administrator and I have my GitHub account linked to an administrator account.

So we're going to continue with GitHub in this case.

I'm already logged in as an administrator so we could see here the mentor applications.

we can see a lot of information, some recent repos and recent pull requests.

this is from this GitHub account so we're going to approve it as we approve it.

then we can log in again as I mentor.

Here is app for example and then you have the possibility to connect stripe.

so you could see like there is the Stripe dashboard so you can start filling the documentation or the details as this is a test environment well to activate the live account of Stripe, you have to well provide a lot of information.

this deployed version just have the testing account of Stripe.

this form will include some testing data that Stripe accepts as a testing data such as fake bank accounts and so on.

So we're going to agree and submit and the platform will catch the account and we'll set the ID account for your Stripe account that you were creating so you might publish a first listing.

So we are going to create a listing.

there's some information, some steps or some onboarding process for creating a listing.

Also you can set I don't know, hundred or forty, how many weeks the project will or you will work for how many weeks.

so you can set five or you can set the total amount of slots that you want in your project.

how many of the application fee do you receive and how many the platform gets from your payout.

how many dollars do mentors receive?

That's your mentors receipt.

So there's the testing account from stripe, that I have already set up.

So we can see here.

For example there's some cases when the payment, something went wrong with the payment and the platform recognize it, and put it as a pending payment.

You cannot enter any, you cannot join to any session when the listing or when the payment is pending.

And for example in this case we have the active so we can recognize that the platform catch the payment and validate the information.

so we can have here the upcoming sessions that it's scheduled and opens in 16 hours.

We're going to log in as mentor again and here we have the web three.

We have recognized the student that was enrolling to this list, to this listing and we also start the session.

So when the mentor starts the session then it becomes live and active.

And one of the integrations, one of the most useful integrations that we have here is that we may also join the session and actually have the session, in Jitsi that it's an infrastructure for video meetings.

So you can join the meeting and the mentor can join the meeting also.

so you can see you can host the meetings in the platform so you don't have to manage zoom links or teams links, something like that.

So yeah, this case, this is almost the principal functionality and well, In the other hand we have the integrations for the multiple dashboards that the platform integrates.

So in the deployed machine we have configured and the actual implementation with GitHub it's set or it's configured to integrate with Jenkins.

So we have here the Jenkins.

We have the Jenkins dashboard and you could see the deploy or yeah the.

The deploy pipeline.

So there's a lot of deploys for example and the.

The valuable thing here is that you will actually note that this for example this build was started by the user itself.

but if we roll down a little bit we can see that actually GitHub push triggers the compilation and the deployment of the platform.

So when there's a push in the main branch of the GitHub repository then Jenkins catch up the event and deploy the application.

yet another integration.

It's Sentry that we use it for logs and errors.

For example there's some kind of errors.

and you can say for example this error.

You can get the trace the full stack from the front end to the back end.

And for the multiple services are backed and are integrated with Sentry.

so we can explore for example some logs, reminder, scheduler response, catch.

This for example this lock is about If redis cache the response or yeah if redis have the cache.

so we might see some cache miss.

in this case as we are using Redis for the cache and also you might notice that there's some errors regarding Kafka because we are using Kafka to communicate the payments or to communicate microservices in general.

And one use case for that is when the, when the payment goes through.

then the notification microservice got the event from Kafka that the payment sent.

so yeah yet, well we have here for example the Stripe dashboard.

we might reload the dashboard so we can see the created account in this case.

We can see the overview and the connected accounts and we can see for example the account that I created for the, for the video.

we can see also the integration with Grafana.

you might actually want to go inside Grafana and test it out by yourself.

Go to the metrics.

And we have seen for example this metrics exploration, HTTP request duration, HTTP count, some total requests, writes and there is a lot of information here, for example from the gateway we got here, the cache hits, for example how many cache hits, how many cache misses, HTTP duration requests and some other information from Prometheus, integrated with Grafana.

I'll, I do also have the swagger API documentation.

So you can see the API, what are the endpoints exposed by the API authentication on GitHub Authentication System listings, mentors, payments, sessions, users and all the other specifications of the API itself.

And also we have the integration of recent for sending the emails.

So you can see here for example subject mentor application approved when we were approving the application for the mentor or for the count that we created.

So there's some other integrations itself, for example Kafka and Redis.
