Improving Booking Flows for Beauty in the Ink 🎨

This is Beauty in the Ink, a med spa, tattoo and piercing studio located in Indian Trail, NC Beauty in the Ink is a locally owned woman led business with an extensive list of services, an established client base and honestly a really good booking flow already.

They offered their services on Square, allowing you to view a service menu before booking an appointment.

When viewing the service menu on Square, it can be a little bit overwhelming, noting that there are about 70 or so services throughout the list.

Scrolling all of these services can be a little bit overwhelming for a client on what may be their first time booking an appointment.

For example, with lash extensions and fills, there are two options that show right here and there are also a couple more options further down the list.

Unless you know exactly where you are in your lash extension journey, you may not know exactly the type of appointment to book, which could lead to confusion, lots of time spent over the phone trying to figure it out, and potentially money lost on either the client side or the business side.

So I designed Beauty in the Ink, a web app.

This web app features a more intuitive and thoughtful booking flow.

intentional intentionally designed to fit the thoughtful work that Desiree and her team do.

Immediately following the Hero section is a services section.

All of the services that Desiree's team offer are listed in an organized clean card layout.

With the same story section.

Branding Testimonials Everything from the previous website I designed a booking flow that would be more intuitive.

For example, using the lash example from earlier.

depending on where you are exactly in your lash journey, you may need something different.

May need a consultation.

By clicking Book an appointment, it will take you to all of the options for that service, categorized as they should be.

You'll also see a guided option by clicking this.

It will allow you to select when your last lash appointment was.

For example, we'll say two weeks.

This will then bring you to the window where the appointment has been correctly identified for you and shows you the price, the time, and allows you to proceed straight to scheduling.

Additionally, I integrated an AI Studio assistant.

This is intended to sort of help clear up any of the DMs that may clog up a business's inbox or any questions kind of answer them before they may hit the DM inbox.

For example, I'll go ahead and ask the studio assistant about my lash extension appointment, but I'll say that I may have gotten them done at a different studio.

As you can see, the studio assistant speaking on behalf of Desiree takes your information, tells you exactly what you may need, and immediately sends the details over to Desiree.

This creates an automatic lead generation, capturing that lead and client before they may exit.

Additionally, a manual lead generation form is included in the chat allowing you to direct any questions you may have to the studio.

To close the intended purpose of this web app design was simply to refine the booking flow that Desiree and her team already use, also minimizing friction on the business side.

This booking flow intends to capture the client exactly where they are while allowing the business and the team to do exactly the great work that they do best.
