I originally built it for my dad, but now I'm here showing how to use Voicy to you.
00:08
This is going to be a quick intro, give you the basics, but if you want more in depth information about how to use Voicy check out the other videos.
00:16
So, very simply said, Voicy is a speech to text tool.
00:19
It allows you to write with your Voicy everywhere.
00:22
The way it works is straightforward.
00:24
You start the recording by clicking a keyboard shortcut and then you speak, and then you end your recording by clicking that keyboard shortcut again.
00:31
Then Voicy will put your text onto paper.
00:34
Let me show you.
00:35
Right now I have a note open.
00:37
I'm on my Mac, works the same way on Windows, and I start my recording.
00:43
Then I have this blue little box here with the wave.
00:47
The wave shows that Voicy is hearing me.
00:48
And then whenever I'm done, I click on the keyboard shortcut again.
00:51
Now, Voicy will then transcribe my text and put it in here right away.
00:55
As you can see, punctuation is added as well.
00:59
You can find your keyboard shortcut on the Voicy page app on home.
01:05
So right over here you can see that my keyboard shortcut is control space.
01:09
You can set it to be whatever you want it to be.
01:11
There's another video that shows you how to change your keyboard shortcut as well.
01:15
Now, now it's important that whenever you start and stop a recording, you're only clicking and tapping your keyboard shortcut.
01:21
You're not holding it down.
01:23
Now, another important thing to say about Voicy, is that whenever it's done transcribing your voice, it will just paste the text wherever your mouse currently is.
01:36
So, as you saw before, it automatically pasted the text into the note.
01:40
But what happens if I start a recording and then I click out of it and I'm not in here anymore?
01:47
And Voicy can't paste text anywhere?
01:49
If I'm done with my recording, Voicy will still transcribe it, but nothing will be shown.
01:54
But your text will always be in your clipboard.
01:58
So you can just click on paste and there we go.
02:01
We have my text with Voicy.
02:04
You can also, of course, go to your history tab and, and copy it from right here.
