Hey, thanks so much for clicking through.
00:01
Let me show you how I'm using 1 of 10 to generate thumbnails in less than 2 minutes.
00:05
and to be completely honest with you here, when I sat down to record this demo, I hadn't yet seen the most recent update.
00:11
I didn't even know that they'd added this.
00:12
And it's one of the most exciting things I've seen on the platform yet.
00:15
So let me get into it and show you what I mean.
00:17
So this is the thumbnail generator screen.
00:19
And for this next video that I'm envisioning, I want to do something around the idea of lazy script writing.
00:24
The idea that you can focus on a couple of key script, writing frameworks and still get the majority of the results.
00:29
You don't have to spend hours and hours tightening up every last word.
00:32
And the way I would envision representing this visually would be something like me lying on a beach, maybe typing at my laptop.
00:38
But for the sake of this demo, what if it's me lying on a beach with like a script sort of on my chest like this, and maybe it's like a pina colada to the side of my head or something like that.
00:47
Now, I have no idea if this video idea sort of thumbnail would perform, by the way.
00:51
I haven't, haven't, researched it.
00:52
But for the sake of this demo, let's go with that.
00:55
Now, the original way that you would get a generation like this is that you would type it in a box like this.
01:00
And I'm going to still.
01:00
I'll show you what I would have typed.
01:01
And I think actually this might help, prompt the AI anyway.
01:04
But I would say something like me lying down on a beach, holding a script to my chest.
01:15
I fill the frame, but there is a pina colada to the side of my head, something like that.
01:28
Now that will work perfectly well.
01:29
But what you can do now, and actually this can even save you the time of typing, something like that, is that you can literally draw what you want here on, on the tool itself.
01:38
Now, this was a feature that I literally.
01:39
I was using this tool last week and I hadn't seen that they've added this.
01:42
So this is the first time that I'm using it.
01:44
what I like to do is draw a little square that just helped me picture the kind of the size of the thumbnail that I have.
01:49
If we draw something like this, let's go with me lying in the middle.
01:53
do you want that?
01:54
Maybe, maybe let's just draw me in gray so I'm lying down like this.
01:59
I'm imagining I'm going to be holding the script to my chest here.
02:04
and let's say it's like sand either side of me.
02:08
I'll represent it like this.
02:09
You can see the level of detail here is not, high.
02:12
and then maybe we'll draw a little pina colada there.
02:16
Why not?
02:17
We've got the text feature at the top here, so I can literally just Type me.
02:21
let's duplicate that.
02:26
we'll put this here, that this is the script.
02:32
And then we will put here that this is sand.
02:36
let's copy that across the other side as well.
02:41
Sand.
02:42
And, for the sake of it, let's just let it know that this is the pina colada.
02:51
Okay, cool.
02:52
So that's all.
02:53
I'm going to give it this incredibly unflattering image.
02:57
But let's just see, based on its thumbnail generation, what it can come up with.
03:00
So we're going to go with eight versions of this.
03:02
So we can see, some different versions.
03:05
I'm going to click no text because for this I kind of want the star to be like the script and the kind of the scenery around it.
03:11
And we're going to go with generate.
03:13
Now, this generates in under 60 seconds almost always, which is the craziest thing.
03:18
Now, while it's doing that, I just want to talk about, I suppose, the use case that I see for this and why I found this to be such a valuable resource this year and why I've been using one of ten for so long.
03:28
I still have a thumbnail designer and I will continue to have a thumbnail designer because I love having a strategic partner.
03:33
I'm just gonna scroll up slightly in case, in case you see the results here.
03:37
But for me, the way I used to prompt my thumbnail designer was that I would mock something up on Canva.
03:43
Holy hell.
03:44
Okay, I'm getting distracted.
03:46
I've got to stop looking at this.
03:48
You get a preview of it already.
03:49
I would mock something up on Canva, which would be painstaking.
03:52
It would take me hours.
03:53
It would look terrible.
03:54
and would it convey the idea that I had?
03:56
I don't know.
03:57
These days I literally send across the images that I've generated with 1 of 10 to my thumbnail designer and we workshop it from there.
04:04
This is so time saving, so game changing.
04:07
And honestly, it's quite frustrating being sponsored by a brand that you genuinely use every single week because there's this sort of filter of like.
04:14
Yeah, but he's being paid to say that.
04:16
Just if you have the means, try this out and let's take a look, at what it's created here.
04:23
And the second use case, I should say, is that actually if you don't have a thumbnail designer, and as I'm hoping you might see with some of these, a lot of these thumbnails are ready to go, are ready to use without any additional work, and so if you don't have the means to hire a thumbnail designer, something like this could be a meaningful second option.
04:41
So already I'm looking at this one and I'm like absolutely blown away by how it's, how it's captured this.
04:47
It's got my classic green shirt, which I wear in all my videos.
04:51
holy moly.
04:54
I absolutely wasn't expecting this.
04:58
this is crazy, right?
05:00
This is really not bad.
05:01
Like, not all of them have perfectly nailed my face.
05:04
This one is not quite so much me.
05:06
And you can see, and you probably get a sense of this if you've seen any of my videos.
05:10
It's pulling in this sort of graph paper background that I have.
05:13
And that is really one of the blessings of this tool is that it will, per channel and It will understand what your usual type of thumbnail is and it will model based on that, which is good.
05:22
It can lead to scenarios where like this, we have this sort of graph paper, which I haven't asked for necessarily.
05:27
but overall, like, this is hectic.
05:31
I honestly can't believe this.
05:32
So something like this, let's say I wanted to go with this.
05:36
This is almost usable already.
05:38
The joy of this is that if something is not quite perfect, it's got the pina colada as well.
05:42
you can just tell it to change something.
05:44
So I'm like, this is perfect.
05:47
but please remove the graph paper background and we'll prompt it.
05:55
And once again, it's going to take like 60 seconds, maybe a bit less.
05:59
But how crazy is that, right?
06:01
This, is blowing my mind.
06:02
And it's been so, so, so useful, in just reducing that bit of friction when it comes to being able to picture how this video is going to look.
06:09
And from a script writing perspective, especially being able to see the thumbnail before you start writing, or at least as close to a version of the thumbnail as possible is invaluable because it helps you picture that viewer journey from clicking on the thumbnail to entering the hook.
06:24
and being able to picture that journey before you start writing is super easy.
06:27
And there it is, the graph paper is gone.
06:29
this, honestly, I think my prompting could have been a little bit improved.
06:33
Like the actual raw vision for this thumbnail could be improved, but in terms of what I've asked it for, this not bad, right?
06:40
It's really not bad.
06:42
so if we wanted this to be ready for, you know, like 4K or whatever, we can upscale it.
06:48
But that's not necessarily necessary.
06:50
I would say of these, this has kind of interpreted what I've asked for.
06:55
It's not exactly what I asked for, but it's like, probably my favorite.
06:59
This one I would say is almost my favorite.
07:04
This I would say.
07:05
dude, actually this is fantastic.
07:07
I'm gonna do the same again.
07:08
I'm gonna say this is perfect.
07:11
but the, main beach scene should fill the thumbnail and the, graph paper background should be removed.
07:29
Let's see if it's able to, interpret that.
07:33
but yeah, this has been absolutely phenomenal.
07:35
And as I say, that journey from knowing what your thumbnail should look or what it's gonna look like through into writing the hook through into writing the rest of it is just super, super helpful.
07:42
And of course we should in theory be doing our packaging and, the ideation side of things before we start scripting.
07:49
I know that is the most common advice, but until recently there's, there's always been that bit of friction, right, where you're having to either try and find a thumbnail designer, you're waiting for your thumbnail designer to get back to you, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
07:58
And it's just not been practical in many cases.
08:01
There you go, it's nailed it.
08:03
It's not always been practical to wait for your thumbnail to be ready before you can start scripting because maybe you've got a full time job, maybe you're trying to make sure you're consistent and getting like two videos out a week or something.
08:13
But this has truly helped me flip the script quite literally and start doing my packaging, at least thinking about it way before I start scripting.
08:21
I'm actually gonna give this to my thumbnail designer.
08:25
And this is the joy of it.
08:26
I don't even know what this video exactly would be yet, but I'm inspired to write something that matches how freaking awesome this thumbnail is.
08:37
I might.
08:38
You know what, if you're watching this far, maybe I thought this was so awesome that I put it in the newsletter and you already saw it.
08:42
But in any case, I'm gonna leave it there for now.
08:44
I hope this gives you a sense of the power of this tool.
08:48
You see any changes you make, you can go back in and you can scroll between the different versions.
08:53
so thanks as always to Richard and the gang at one of 10 for sponsoring the newsletter, and for being such a useful, essential tool in my toolkit over the last few years.
09:04
If you do want to check out one of ten, and you want to get 20% off, this tier of a subscription so that you can use the thumbnail generator, then click the link in the newsletter.
09:11
I'll make sure I put a link somewhere in this video as well.
09:14
in the description thing, somewhere.
09:16
so thank you very much for watching.
09:17
Let me know if you've got any questions about one of ten.
09:19
I'd be all too happy to answer them.
09:20
and until next week, have, a good one.
09:23
