So I'm here with David.
00:00
We're going to be having a chat around sort of your business, what you do, who you work with and sort of the before and after apartment with Vero.
00:06
So, David, thank you for joining today.
00:08
No worries.
00:08
Thanks, Harry.
00:10
Perfect.
00:10
so first things first, could you just introduce yourself and a bit about Braava Education?
00:15
Yeah, so I'm the director of Braava Education and just started the business in September.
00:22
prior to that I was managing director of a much bigger company for a long time, covering health, social care, education.
00:30
Yeah.
00:31
So just three months in now.
00:33
Amazing.
00:33
How's it all been so far?
00:35
Good, good.
00:36
First few, first few months were, challenging getting all the, foundations set up, the infrastructure, etc.
00:44
But feels like it's starting to hit a bit of a stride now, which is good.
00:48
No, good to hear.
00:49
So I think when we first spoke, it was via email.
00:52
So you were told, I think you're working with an email consultant at the time.
00:55
They asked you to sort of wait around three months or so while sorting out your email infrastructure.
01:00
How does that sort of compare to us getting you up and running in 14 days?
01:03
Yeah, so I'm still working with the consultant, but sort of change the plan a little bit.
01:08
So they're now purely, excuse me, purely working on, my primary domain, so making sure that's healthy and all the metrics are right with that one, which is really important.
01:21
But I think what you guys have done, which has been brilliant, is help me develop a bit of an outreach machine with, you know, different, different domains etc.
01:32
I got it up and running really quickly.
01:34
So prior, prior to this it was looking like, probably December, January, February, before I was going to be able to actually get some consistent marketing, or outreach, which is really important to work that I do.
01:48
A lot of it is interim, so it's all about timing.
01:50
You've got to get the right people in front of clients at the right time.
01:55
So, yeah, you guys have literally got me set up and going without any issues.
01:59
Landing an inbox within 14 days, which has been very helpful.
02:03
No, amazing.
02:04
Good to hear.
02:05
And I guess with your experience of working with us, how have you found things like communication, the project management and just your overall experience in the day to day?
02:12
Yeah, yeah, really good.
02:14
So, everything's been really, really slick.
02:17
You guys are constantly, you know, keeping an eye on things, keeping me updated.
02:22
We've got the Slack channel, which is, which is really good.
02:24
I've not really used Slack before, so I'm not used to it, but it's been great actually.
02:27
So, yeah, any, any.
02:31
Not that there's been any issues, but any questions or anything, I just, just whack it in there and you guys are always straight back.
02:36
So.
02:37
Yeah, all good.
02:38
No, good to hear.
02:39
And, it has anything sort of surprised you just in the way that we've operated or the way we've got you.
02:43
Got you set up?
02:45
no, I don't think so.
02:47
I mean, this, this sort of like set, this setup is, is new for me.
02:50
Coming from a different, coming from a bigger business.
02:52
I'd never even heard of email, email deliverability and email reputation, so, you know, it just wasn't even on my radar and it was, it was actually one of the biggest challenges that I just completely blindsided me because I didn't, didn't know it was a thing.
03:08
And apparently, you know, the, the rules have all changed over the last few months, few years.
03:14
So it's been really good to have a, to work with a partner where I can literally just give you guys this problem and you've come up with a solution which is working perfectly for me.
03:24
No, it's great to hear and trust me, you're not alone on that email deliverability piece.
03:27
the only reason that we figured it out was from our own problems.
03:30
So good to hear that we've managed to help you out with that as well.
03:33
and then just in terms of sort of moving forward, like, would you recommend this to others and if so, why?
03:40
Yeah, definitely.
03:41
I've already spoken to a few people who have similar sort of challenges.
03:45
I'm in quite a few recruitment networking groups and obviously know lots of people in the industry.
03:50
And yeah, yeah, I already have and definitely will be recommending you to others.
03:56
Appreciate that as well.
03:57
It's been great to work with you.
03:59
so just in terms of yourself, I mean, if people want to get in touch with you, where can they find you?
04:04
LinkedIn's probably the best place.
04:06
so just David geeny, Brava on LinkedIn and they should find me.
04:11
Perfect.
04:12
I know as well you're in the process of sort of building Bravo from the ground up, which.
04:15
Pretty exciting.
04:16
Do you have any advice for people sort of thinking about starting their own business or sort of.
04:20
Any other founders just starting out?
04:22
not really.
04:22
I mean, the biggest, the biggest one is actually like the biggest one that surprised me because I was really trying to plan for absolutely everything and then this email issue, which I just wasn't expecting, really blindsided me.
