Set Brand & Account Tones in NOAN ⚙️

NOAN has two options for tone.

One is your overarching brand tone and you want to set this as a fact.

So if you navigate to the brand stack, you'll see here we have brand tone.

In this fact, you want to outline what your brand tone is and this is the overarching tone for your brand.

a good way to get to this is ask the assistant to assess your website if you already have one, and tell you what type of brand tone it is.

Or if you've got brand tone documents, you can upload those and ask the assistant to extract the tone for you.

One note here is that it's really important to put, if you are using, for example, non American English, you can specify in this brand tone fact the language that you wish to use.

So, for example, if that is British English spelling, outline that like we do here, in this brand tone fact and no more, keep that consistent across the platform.

The second place you can set your tones is in your account settings.

And these tones are for when you are working with the assistant on specific types of responses you're looking for or specific types of, of communication style.

So here in your project you'll see tone style and language and then you can jump in and create a tone.

And when you're creating a tone, you can choose any language style here.

So this could be a secondary language to your main overarching one.

If you're doing communications in different languages, you can set that and then you want specific instructions for how you want this tone to come to life.

Now you'll see here that I have my comms tone, which is, which our team uses if we're generating any emails and they might be coming from me, that will use Neil's cons tone and they'll do that when they're working with the assistant.

Now a quick shortcut to getting a tone is to drop some, content in the assistant and ask it to give you a tone that it could replicate based on that content style.

And then you can refine that and drop that into your tones and you can do this as many times as you want.

And the reason NOAN allows you to switch tones when you're getting responses from the assistant is you might want to create a piece of content and send it to a certain customer segment and you'll use a tone for that.

You might want to take that same piece of content and send it to a different customer segment and use a different tone.

So for example, for churned customers, you might use a separate tone, to send it to them.

Or you might have a different tone for your investors or a different tone for your partner communications.

And what you can do is, as you're working with the assistant, you can switch these tones here in the tone switch at any time, and the next response it gives you will be based on that tone.
