Look, I'm here with Jack Cornelius, the founder, of AT1 Advisory.
00:05
We're going to be having a chat around your business and your experience working with Vero.
00:09
Thank you so much for joining me, Jack.
00:11
How you doing, Harrison?
00:12
Yeah, very good.
00:13
Very.
00:15
Yeah, of course, of course.
00:16
Would you mind introducing yourself, and at One Advisory, what you do and who you work with?
00:22
Yeah, so essentially, I set up One Advisory to work with recruitment founders and recruitment leaders that are looking at, scaling their business, capturing opportunity, yeah, everything around growth really.
00:33
So, yeah, I'm here to help out and add a bit of extra rocket fuel to, you know, a market that's very busy at the moment, or at least we're seeing, quite a promising bounce back.
00:44
Yeah, 100%.
00:45
That sounds good.
00:46
And look, before kind of working with Vero, what were the main challenges you were kind of facing in terms of outbound and consistency around that?
00:55
Yeah, I'll probably say, you know, it's quite important to say, I'm not, I'm not a marketing expert.
01:02
I've had a lot of interaction, and worked around marketing strategy, but probably less than doing it myself.
01:09
obviously we know that social media is a big push.
01:12
Personal branding's really, really critical out there at the moment.
01:16
but also just kind of balancing time where I'm spending, a significant amount of my working week working with founders, working with companies that are scaling in.
01:25
It's actually finding that kind of time to give a significant effort to, you know, an area that I'm maybe not, explicitly well versed in.
01:33
So I think bringing in experts, bringing in people that can work alongside me, understand my business, understand, you know, my icp and what, what I'm trying to, how I'm trying to help companies.
01:43
Yeah, massive time saver, massively.
01:45
yeah, massive help for me.
01:47
So I appreciate everything you've done so far.
01:50
No, brilliant.
01:50
Look, when we initially spoke, it sounded like the outbound aspect was taking up a fair bit of your time and qu.
01:57
Manual.
01:57
So since having that taken off your plate and running on kind of autopilot, what has that meant for you in other areas, your, Your business and in your personal life as well?
02:08
Yeah, I'll probably just say that, you know, I have got a CRM that's got an outreach tool.
02:12
I think, you know, consistency has been, you know, like in anything is really, really difficult to achieve and sort of spreading myself quite thin was quite a challenge.
02:20
You know, when I'M When I'm working with customers and I'm working with founders, I really want to dedicate my time and effort towards helping their journey.
02:27
you know, so I think it's just been really good to be able to have a clear cut between what, what I'm here to do and how I'm here to help versus having the kind of levers in place that help me get out to, more people and build more relationships.
02:42
So, yeah, that for me, you know, it's like anything in life.
02:45
You can't be, you can't be great at everything.
02:47
So, I mean, arguably, am I great at anything?
02:49
But that's, you know, that's the kind of the, the challenge that we have as founders is, you know, that's why I'm here to help other founders, because you can't do everything 100% at all times.
03:00
Sometimes it's really good to lean on, someone that's a specialist or an expert.
03:04
So, you know, having that kind of separation has been really great for me.
03:08
And also just having, a team that can respond in real time, be available real time.
03:14
Sometimes I'm on site, you know, all day with a customer, or I might be stuck in quite a lengthy sort of strategy meeting or something like that.
03:20
You get a response, you can't respond to it until you get to it.
03:24
So having the team at Vero to actually, sort of act on, inquiries really, really quickly has been massively beneficial.
03:31
And I think, yeah, it's just been a brilliant extension to my business, really.
03:35
Okay, brilliant.
03:36
No, thank you for the feedback.
03:37
And in terms of that responsiveness and availability, how did you find the communication?
03:43
Or how do you find the communication?
03:44
The project management, overall experience working with us, has anything surprised you, like, in a good way?
03:50
I would say that you guys are just super efficient.
03:54
I think that's been a massive one for me.
03:55
The fact that, you know, you, you're, you're very respect, respected or respectful of my time.
04:05
I think sometimes, you know, if I come back to you and say, hey, sorry, Harrison, I'm not around till tomorrow, are you going to run with this?
04:12
I think that's, you know, the fact that you are very, responsive.
04:16
You're.
04:17
It's a partnership.
04:18
I think that's a big thing for me.
04:20
So I kind of feel that my business is in safe hands.
04:23
My, brand's in safe hands, my domains are in safe hands.
04:27
I think that's.
04:28
That' the big one for me.
04:29
So, yeah, I found the communication really super easy.
04:32
We've got a good setup.
04:33
you know, it's streamlined.
04:36
Yeah.
04:37
And you know, and I think you don't put any pressure on me and you're respectful that sometimes I can't kind of always be available at the drop of my hat.
04:44
So.
04:44
Yeah, it's just, it's just really good to have, have a team backing you up, I think.
04:48
No 100%.
04:49
Yeah.
04:50
I mean it's been great working with you as well.
04:51
And in terms of results, kind of.
04:54
What kind of return on investments or outcomes have you seen since partnering with us?
05:00
Yeah, I think it's like anything quite often, you know, when you're working with founders that they're equally like busy or busier, they're running businesses.
05:08
So I think you've been able to keep that streamlined, keep on top of you know, the organization of any kind of inquiries and stuff has been spot on.
05:17
But I think also just the fact that Yeah, just, just, just how kind of easy it's been has been the big kind of positive from my perspective.
05:29
And I guess in regards to the roi, I mean straight away, you know, within the first couple weeks you picked up an opportunity that converted to a really meaningful and valued relationship now.
05:42
And you know, that, that paid for all the infrastructure, all the setup, all your kind of project management, you know, like you say with it.
05:49
Within weeks of us working together, I was already seeing both the financial and the kind of opportunity and lead generation benefit.
05:58
That's amazing to hear.
05:59
It's paid for itself within two weeks.
06:02
and in terms of consistent new opportunities that you mentioned, so the system is continuing to bring in new business, new conversations for you on autopilot?
06:11
Yeah, I think for me it's just kind of the fact that we've got a really good, good set of content that you can, you can get out to market on my behalf.
06:21
I think the fact that, you know, not everyone is going to you know, need to work with me straight away, but just you know, generating some interesting conversations.
06:29
We got some some further conversations, opportunities lined up for, you know, a Q1 of 2026 is really promising.
06:37
You know, it's just been helping build that network that's been a massive one for me and quite often people that I haven't got in my own network, you know, recruitment is all about having a strong network and you value in that as well.
06:47
But there's, there's some people that you've just picked up that I've never come across in 16, 17 years of working in the industry.
06:53
So you being able to do that kind of market research and, yeah, spot, spot decision makers and spot, potential people I could, I could work with is, yeah, been a massive, time saver for me.
07:07
No, that's amazing.
07:08
And so, look, would you recommend us to others and, if so, why.
07:13
Yeah, absolutely.
07:14
I've already been, I've already made a couple recommendations to yourself.
07:17
And I think just the fact that you guys are so easy to work with, we've seen proof of concept.
07:24
The fact that I can actually put my, you know, put my name saying, hey, these are guys that I'll work with as well.
07:29
You know, this is.
07:29
These are people that I trust in my business and, my brand.
07:33
And the fact that I've, I'm kind of proof of that success as well.
07:37
The fact that I can talk firsthand about the value that I've seen, has meant that's a much more powerful recommendation.
07:43
You know, the fact that I, I'm happy to say, hey, aside working with Veronica, within weeks they delivered, you know, all these conversations they've delivered, booked customers are now working with, you know, that.
07:57
That's a really powerful message.
07:58
I think the fact that it's, you know, there's a lot of people out there trying to offer services, but actually being able to have a relationship and seeing the value firsthand is, you know, a really powerful tool, I think.
08:11
Yeah, no, 100% agree.
08:12
And, look, as we wrap up the last question, I'll ask, bit off topic, but you were kind enough to share some wisdom and advice, to us.
08:20
Where's this going?
08:22
As one of our first, clients, he shared, some lovely things and some, some help and advice for, Ari and myself and, the rest of our team, which we've certainly taken on board.
08:33
as a very successful founder, yourself, do you have any advice for new founders out there who might just be getting started?
08:41
I think it's really valuing your time.
08:43
I think that is the most important thing to me.
08:45
you know, it's very.
08:47
Being a founder, you get kind of called into all sorts of different directions.
08:51
And, you know, even in my first sort of 12 months, I've learned loads of new skills.
08:55
Even having worked in industry for over 16 years, having worked in sales for about eight years before that.
09:02
I think, you know, you're always going to come across scenarios you're not always entirely sure of.
09:06
And I think the important thing for me is just kind of stick to what you're really good at.
09:09
And I think look for partners who can support the bits that maybe you're not so good at.
09:14
And I think in that instance, you know, you know, there are.
09:18
There are no.
09:19
About, outbound campaigns marketing.
09:22
You know, some of the kind of the DNS, challenges that, every kind of business founder that I, I talk to seem to have.
09:29
The fact that you've just been able to nail that with expertise.
09:32
Why try and spend a lot of time struggling with that as a founder?
09:35
You know, stick to, stick to your strengths, stick to what you're good at and, you know, partner with someone that you can trust and especially with your brand is, you know, such a time saver for me and just lets you kind of concentrate on really focusing on the bits of the.
09:49
That, you know, that you're really good at.
09:51
Amazing.
09:51
Well, look, Mate, that was brilliant.
09:52
Thank you so much for being so open, detailed with everything.
09:56
I know how busy you are, so really appreciate your time.
09:59
Well, you're helping me out with that anyway, so, you just, you just, you know, working with Vero just allows me to have those really kind of impactful conversations with founders without having to worry about, you know, what's my pipeline look like or, you know, where do my next relationships come from, or how do I make sure that I'm staying on top of my marketing strategy.
10:16
The fact that been able to just kind of hand that over to you guys, you've ran with it and delivered some really, really good conversations.
