Hey there, Steve.
00:01
Here in this video, I'm going to provide a quick overview of the Action Items feature in Ludi.
00:06
So many times when you're collaborating as a group, you'll get a situation where something emerges from your discussion that you need to remember to do.
00:13
And Action Items is the perfect solution to that problem.
00:16
It works for retrospective actions.
00:18
So outcomes from a retro meeting.
00:20
It works for, Sprint planning and refinement, where you may have little bits that you need to remember to do to sync up with someone or to, I don't know, send an email to somebody that won't really want to go into Jira.
00:32
But often what you do is close the board, go back to what you were doing, and then just forget it.
00:36
So Action Items is a solution for that problem.
00:39
I've got an example template here of a retrospective, but this works for really any kind of meeting, any kind of, session you're running.
00:45
and many of our templates for retros have an actions box on the right.
00:48
So I'm just going to go over here.
00:49
Creating an action is really easy.
00:51
You just need to create a sticky note.
00:53
Write the action content, out.
00:55
So, example, action for this video.
01:00
And then you can either click off and click the assign button, which is this one here, or if you're still typing quicker, usually just to go into a new line or press space and then type an at, and choose Action, sorry, Assign action at the top and then pick the assignee.
01:15
You do that with the keyboard or the mouse.
01:16
So I'm going to choose Steve or the other Steve, Due date of 14 days, press Enter and that creates the action on that person.
01:24
then if you zoom in, you'll see at the bottom of the sticky note you've got the, status and the person it's on, which you can click to see.
01:30
And then edit any of the status, assignee or due date elements or items that you want to change.
01:36
you can also click this Open Actions button, which opens in a new tab.
01:40
So I'm not going to do it in this video because I'm recording a tab, but I'll go to where it takes you, which is the action items page.
01:47
and here you'll see all of your team's actions across all your boards, in a big list.
01:52
If you have more than one, which I only have one at the moment, you can edit them.
01:55
You can update the states from here.
01:57
you can filter by team member, which will only show Steve really, but, would allow you to filter, and then really cool.
02:04
You can go back to the board.
02:05
It's on again.
02:06
This opens in a new tab, so I'm just going to paste that into this one.
02:09
But it will take you to the board and it'll point to you at the action sticky note in the board.
02:14
So you can find it.
02:15
If I set that to done and then go back here, on here you'll see it's done.
02:23
And I can update the board from outside the board as well by changing this back to to do.
02:28
If it's not done, go back to my board and it'll update it in there so they're decoupled from the board objects.
02:34
when a user assigns an action, they'll receive a, email that looks like this telling them that they have the action assigned the date and they can click it to go and see it.
02:43
And they'll get a reminder on the Monday of the week it's due that there's an action coming up and then the day before, an action is due.
02:51
the final thing to note is that you can import your actions.
02:55
So if you click down here get action items, and obviously we only got one, but if I click import, it will import the, copy of that sticky note in.
03:06
And the reason that's useful is if you're starting a retrospective, it's usually a great idea to have a box on the left where you review the previous actions and see if you haven't done them, and whether you're going to do them, etc.
03:17
Allows you to keep on top of that continuous improvement flow.
