so in this video we're going to look at multi round flights or divisions, as they're sometimes known.
00:07
there is another video for divisions, and flights within a single round or within a sub round of a multi round event.
00:16
So feel free to go ahead and find that one if that's more suitable for you.
00:19
But in this video we're going to talk about how divisions and flights work at multi round level.
00:24
so what are they?
00:25
Well you can use a division or a flight to split, or filter the leaderboard, into smaller groups of players.
00:32
So for example you could do this based on handicap.
00:34
So for example 20 handicap or above you could have a flight, especially for those.
00:39
You can also do it based on the tee that the players are using.
00:42
So if you have a certain group of players that are on a different tee, you can select that tee and have their own leaderboard, using your division.
00:52
And you can also use a division, totally custom.
00:56
So you can create a custom division and you can just choose which players you want to assign to it so it doesn't have to fit a certain rule.
01:02
You can just assign players to it.
01:06
So in this example event here I've got an event with eight players and in the leaderboard I've already entered some scores and you can see that we have different levels of players.
01:14
We've got the individual leaderboard, we've got a team leaderboard and we've also got a group leaderboard in there as well.
01:19
And you can see we've got round one and round two at the top.
01:22
So I'm going to go ahead and add some divisions at the multi round level.
01:26
And you can do this when you set your event up the first time.
01:29
You don't have to create the event and do it then but you can add divisions after as well.
01:33
So if you go to the settings, go to your game settings, you'll see the new option now for flights and divisions here.
01:38
So if we select that option we can add a flight and we can call this whatever we want.
01:44
So in this case I'm going to do handicap and we'll do two or lower.
01:55
Of course you can make that shorter.
01:57
You can use symbols as well if you want to.
01:59
and you can say for example max handicap here.
02:03
I want to set this now to two, sorry two and that will create that division for us.
02:11
Now there's a couple more options at the multi round level.
02:13
We can choose to apply this to all rounds.
02:16
So what that essentially does is create this division on all of the rounds of your event.
02:21
So if you're looking at the leaderboard for each individual round you'll also be able to see the same division.
02:27
So that can be quite useful.
02:28
So I'm going to toggle that to on and then we're going to add this division.
02:32
And then if I go back now, hit save.
02:45
You can now see we've got this new division called handicap two or lower and that will filter the players which comply to that rule.
02:54
And you can see if we go into round one we also have that division in there.
02:58
And if you go to the the individual game you can see that applies.
03:03
You might have noticed that on the team, team filter, none of the players are showing up.
03:09
And that's because in the pairs we didn't, but both of the pairs, both of the players in each pair don't, comply to the rule.
03:16
So that's why the team hasn't been added to the, to the division in that case.
03:20
But on the individual level, they've been.
03:22
It's also worth noting that divisions and flights don't apply to the group level.
03:26
So if I go to the group leaderboard, you'll see that the option to separate by division, is removed.
03:33
and the groups are just as they are.
03:35
They don't need a division.
03:36
Okay, so that's the how you'd set up a division based on handicap.
03:40
Let's add a division based on the tee people are using.
03:44
So if I go to the player manager and the T sheet I can take a look at my players and you can see that everyone is playing off the blue tee at the minute.
03:52
So let's change that.
03:54
I'm going to put Lexi Thompson on a different tee.
03:56
Sorry, I had to press the wrong thing.
03:57
Lexi Thompson, change player tees and I'm going to put the red tees and then we'll also put John Ram on the red tees too.
04:09
okay, so we have that in place.
04:11
Then if we go back to our game settings again and we go inside the flights and divisions tab and we add a new flight and this time instead of selecting the handicap rules, we're going to go for the T and we'll choose the red T.
04:25
Note that it shows you every T inside your event and what this actually allows you to do.
04:30
So if you're playing on a multi round event at different courses, sometimes there's different tees obviously.
04:37
So you can select multiple tees as you wish and you can do that using the add tee.
04:42
How this works on the app is the first contributing score for the player.
04:47
If that qualifies them to be in that division, they will be displayed in that division.
04:53
So let's go ahead and add this red T option and I should have called it Red T.
05:03
Okay, so if we go back and hit save and note we didn't add that one to each of the sub rounds.
05:16
So now we're back in the leaderboard.
05:17
We can see we've got the new division up here, Red T.
05:20
So if I tap that, you can see we've got Lexi Thompson and John Ramm who we just added to this division.
05:25
And if we go to round one this time you can see that that division doesn't show up because we didn't apply it to all of the rounds.
05:32
Okay, great.
05:33
So finally let's just take a look at the custom implementation.
05:37
So if we go back to the settings, game settings and then we go into the Flights and divisions option down here, this time we're just going to call this one mrecustom and I'll apply this to all of the.
05:51
Sorry, the next thing we need to do is manually assign players to the, to the flight and that's going to get rid of all the options because this is just really simple, we're just going to be able to add the players to it.
06:04
so if we hit assign and then we go back, hit save and then we can go into our player manager, into the TSHEET again and, and we can just select players to be assigned to this decision.
06:23
So for example, Justin Rose, I'm going to assign him to the multi round custom division and then also Tiger Woods.
06:34
So we've assigned those two players and you can do this with the same divisions in the individual rounds as well.
06:41
You can just.
06:42
It's the same process, the exact same place to edit it.
06:45
so it should be really intuitive if you've used divisions on Golf 5 before.
06:49
So if we head back now to look at the leaderboard, you can now see on the overall tab, we have this MRE custom on the right hand side which we can now find the two players that we added to it.
07:03
And if we go into the team, we can also see that the teams have been added to it.
07:08
So the custom works a little bit differently.
07:09
So if just one of the players inside, the team pairing has been added to the custom leaderboard, they will show up on the team leaderboard.
07:18
So yeah, that's a quick insight into how divisions work at the multiround level.
07:22
Hope you found that useful.
07:23
I hope you like the feature.
07:25
please let us know and if you need any help with it at all and what you'd like to see on the app going forward.
