Google Shopping is a super powerful tool when you want to try and sell products online.
00:04
It puts your product in front of people who are searching for what it is that you sell.
00:08
The only problem is that it puts your product alongside your competitors.
00:11
So it's your job to try and make your product stand out in those Google Shopping listings so they click yours instead of the competitors.
00:18
And one of the best ways to do that is to feed your product reviews through your Google Shopping listing so that your product has more reviews than your competitor.
00:27
So in today's tutorial, I'm going to show you exactly how to do that.
00:30
So sync your product reviews from your Shopify store directly through to your Google Shopping listings.
00:35
Now, to do this, you're going to need a few things.
00:36
You're going to need a Google Merchant center account.
00:39
You're going to need a reviews app that's collecting the reviews that can feed into Google.
00:43
You need to have at least 50 of those reviews and include both positive and negative reviews to get started.
00:48
Google has to approve you to submit these reviews, so it needs to enable it in your Google Merchant Center.
00:53
And in order to do that, you need to submit a form for them to review and give you that approval.
00:58
So this is the form here and it's called the Product Ratings Interest Form.
01:01
So I'm going to take you through exactly how to set this up so you can get approved.
01:04
So the first question they ask is, do you work with an approved third party reviews aggregator?
01:08
Now, some review platforms are already approved, so if you're using a review app that is approved, you can click yes here and that means that the review app will do this work for you.
01:16
You don't need to worry about it.
01:18
But I'm going to be working with an app called Judge Me, which is not a approved third party reviews aggregator, but we can still actually do it.
01:24
Yes, but I'd like to submit the feed form by a supported partner directly in the merchant center myself.
01:29
Okay.
01:29
Then it asks, what types of products do you collect reviews for?
01:32
Services.
01:33
Physical and or digital products.
01:34
Physical, digital and services.
01:36
Now, we're running an E commerce business, so we do physical and or digital services.
01:40
It now asks us, do we have more than 50 reviews?
01:44
Yes, we do.
01:45
Now remember, we can't go any further unless we have 50 reviews.
01:48
So this is the part where we fill in all the details.
01:52
So it's really important to be as accurate as possible here.
01:55
Now, the merchant name is the name that you have within your merchant center and it needs to directly reflect that name.
02:00
Okay, so I'm headed over to my merchant center and the name of my one is called dost.
02:05
So I can go back in and I'm going to put DOST in here.
02:09
Then it asks for the Merchant center id.
02:11
We can copy that from Merchant center as well.
02:12
Then we've got to put in our homepage URL, fill in our details, and then here you just put the name of your company.
02:19
So I'm going to do dose drinks and then the email address and then asks whether or not we use a comparison shopping service.
02:25
We can click no and we click Submit.
02:28
So at this stage it says your email has been sent.
02:30
Now this can take a little bit of time to be approved.
02:33
Sometimes it can be approved instantly, sometimes it can be approved in days.
02:37
So just keep an eye on your email to go through the approval.
02:39
I'm going to go and check my email and see whether it has been approved.
02:42
Okay, so it looks like we have received that, email.
02:44
It took about five or so minutes to come through.
02:46
And what we can see here is it's automatically enabled the Merchant center account, which is awesome.
02:50
It means that we've done the submission correctly.
02:52
Now sometimes you can get another, email which asks for more information.
02:56
So whatever it needs, it's just going to detail it inside the email there.
02:59
So just read it and it should help you out.
03:01
But great news is this has been enabled so we can go through and do the next step which is submitting the feed.
03:05
Now if you have a look here, it's giving you some instructions on how to submit the feed.
03:09
But I had to read through this and they're actually wrong.
03:10
So I'm going to take you through the correct way to do it.
03:13
So let's go over to our Merchant center account.
03:14
Now I'm going to click your business and when I click Reviews just here, you can see here in my one, I've already got reviews in here.
03:21
It's because I was testing this out prior to filming.
03:23
But, I'll show you exactly how to do it.
03:25
Yours is probably going to be blank, but you're going to have this same button here which is manage product review Sources.
03:30
So we're going to click that one there.
03:32
And what we're going to do is we're going to click Add product Reviews.
03:35
So this is the part where we sync our product review platform through to Google Merchant Center.
03:39
So Merchant center can then sync it through to Google Ads.
03:42
So depending on your platform it might be a different place to get it.
03:44
But I, I'll take you through the three different ways that you can upload your reviews.
03:48
So the first one is a link to a file.
03:50
This is my preferred method.
03:51
This is a direct XML file into your reviews platform.
03:53
And every time you get a review on Shopify or wherever you're getting your reviews from, they're going to sync through here automatically and apply to the product.
03:59
So that's the best way because it's dynamic and it's real time.
04:02
The other one is whether you upload a file to an sft, an SFTP server, or the other one is whether you upload it from your computer.
04:09
Now if you upload from your computer, it's going to be a static file.
04:12
It's not always going to get updated.
04:13
So highly recommend you link to your file.
04:15
Now because we're using Judge Me, I'm going to head over to my Shopify store.
04:17
We're going to go to Judgment and we click Marketing and Social.
04:20
Then under there we're going to click Google and SEO and we're going to click Google Shopping here and click Manage in here.
04:26
We're going to have to generate the product review feed and then we're going to get this XML file here.
04:31
So we're going to grab that by clicking Copy.
04:34
We're going to go back to Google Merchant center and we're going to paste that directly into there.
04:38
Okay.
04:39
And then click Continue.
04:40
So what's happening now is Google Merchant center is checking that file.
04:44
It's going through it in depth and it's pulling out all the reviews and copying them across into Merchant Center.
04:49
It's in getting those reviews and it's trying to match them against products.
04:52
Once it's done that, then it will know which review stars go to which products.
04:56
Now this takes a little bit of time for that sync to happen.
04:59
So when it first happens, you're probably going to see zero updated, product reviews.
05:02
So probably wait five, ten minutes for it all to sync through.
05:05
Depending on how many reviews you have is probably going to determine how long it's going to take.
05:09
Now I'll show you one that I created earlier so we don't have to sit and wait.
05:12
You, can see it a couple of feeds in here.
05:13
I might go to the first one that I've done.
05:15
What we can see here is We've now got 70 reviews uploaded, which is awesome.
05:20
And I can also see here that they're all recognized and there's no issues found.
05:24
So if there's any issues or anything with your files, you're not going to have this little green tick, you're probably going to have something else.
05:28
So if there are any issues, drop a comment down below and I'll see if I can help you overcome those issues.
05:33
So when that's all done, we then going to go back now to your business.
05:37
We're going to double check our reviews and see whether or not we're enabled.
05:40
So you can see actually under here it says status inactive.
05:43
So what this basically means is this account is still in sort of an approval process.
05:48
So even though we can upload our reviews and we can sync them and everything like that, Google still needs to verify that you have got real reviews.
05:55
So this is where a human comes into play.
05:57
Now I did this about a week ago and I was inactive.
05:59
So I had a look yesterday to see why I was inactive.
06:02
and I emailed Google because I got pretty impatient and I said hey, why is it not active?
06:06
And they said it can actually take two to three weeks to become active.
06:09
So a human has to look at it.
06:10
Humans take time, so just be patient.
06:13
If inactive is still there now, if four weeks goes past, maybe email Google again and just give them a prod to see what happens once it does turn active.
06:20
What's going to happen is they're going to assign those reviews to your products and then they can start showing them on your shopping ads and then we're going to get a better click through rate, we're going to get better ads and everyone's going to be happy.
06:30
Now if you enjoyed this video, I got two other ones up here that I think are going to be perfect for you if you're trying to grow your e commerce business.
