Connecting Granola and NOAN🤝

Hi everyone.

I just want to talk through how I connect Granola with NOAN and it really helps you using NOAN as your business brain when you've got all of those meeting notes coming into NOAN network that you can reference and use, later.

So I want to show you how to set it up, and what you're going to need.

You're going to need three things.

You're going to need a paid Granola account.

It won't work with a free account.

They don't let any zaps work with that.

You're going to need a Zapier account and be set up there.

and then you're going to need to go into NOAN and you're going to need to go and get your API key.

So if you come down to integrations, what you're going to see is your API key here to connect, third party apps.

And we've got setup instructions for Zapier here where you can add the integration.

Now one thing I want to be clear on is that this API key is specific to the project you are in.

So if you have multiple projects, you can connect multiple apps into each different project, therefore sending meetings for a potential client into one project that's their business into another client that's another project, that is really powerful if you're working with multiple businesses or you own multiple businesses.

so just be aware of that.

That's how the, the zaps work.

now once you've got those three things, you're going to want to jump into Zapier and you're going to want to set up a flow.

And this is the flow that I have and this makes it really easy when, whenever I have a call, I have Granola running.

at the end of that I then add my meeting notes into my NOAN folder on Granola and that automatically zaps those meeting notes into a contact in network and if there isn't one, it creates the contact.

So I just want to show you how that works.

So note added to Granola folder.

This is the first thing you're going to want to select which is the Granola integration.

So I have a NOAN folder in Granola.

You may have one for your business, a different client.

This is what you want to make sure you've got selected.

you can share these with your entire workspace.

within the Granola environment.

this one isn't.

This is just for me.

So the granola folder is is NOAN.

and then when I add a note to that that will then trigger this zap flow.

So there are multiple options for zaps from NOAN.

But the one you want to select is find contact.

The first thing to understand about this app is this app is about finding the contact.

So the first thing it's going to do is need a search query.

The search query you want to use is the attendee's email that will look across NOAN network and see if it can find that attendee's email.

Now if it can't find that, you want to make sure that you've got this selected which is create NOAN contact.

If it doesn't exist yet, then what it will do if it can't find that email is create a contact with the user's name email, anything else you want to add and it will get created for you.

Now the final step in this granola flow is just to add one of NOAN's other zaps, which is add memo to contact.

So in this environment, what you want to make sure you've selected is the right contact ID for the contact that you've got in the find contact flow.

This should just be easy to select here it'll give you a contact ID option as you build this out.

And then as a memo, I always use enhanced notes, not the entire transcript.

You want to send the enhanced notes as a memo.

and this will then drop in all the enhanced notes, including the chat link to Granola.

That's enough.

Gives you really good context and will be able to be referenceable by the assistant by anyone in your team.

So that's as easy as it is really simple.

super easy to set up three steps.

Note added to Granola, find contact, zap from NOAN, add memo to contact and that should get you going.

And then what you want to make sure you do is in Granola, when you finish a call, you add it to the right folder that you've selected with this app and then that will send it into your right project on NOAN.

If you've got multiple clients, just use multiple folders for each client in each different project.

That simple.

Now the one last thing to know is that you can't find multiple contacts with this zap.

So what I do is when I have a meeting and there's multiple people on the call, I will select within Granola, the primary person that I want this to be attached to and then I delete the other emails from the Granola meeting and then send that because otherwise it will fail because it can't find multiple contacts for you.

It will find one.

So that's it.

Dead easy.

Dead simple.

You can then work with the assistant on any of your, meetings and reference any notes that you've got in a matter of seconds.
