with more European and international merchants using checkout components, now's the perfect time for us to introduce our solution for locale and translation.
00:11
I'm excited to announce that every single component on a field level can now support translation.
00:17
This is very exciting for us because it means that, whether you're in Sweden, Norway, France, Spain, and you're selling to the rest of Europe, you can now show content and recommendations in the native tongue of your customers.
00:30
So let's take a look at translations and checkout components.
00:33
So right now I've got English selected, and I'm going to write hello.
00:37
I'm going to go up to our Translations button and click Add a Language, and then I'm going to add French.
00:43
Once I swap to French, you can see here that it's marked as not started.
00:46
You'll see that this new UI pops up, and you'll see that default hello is shown here.
00:51
So if I don't translate this specific field regardless of the customer's language, they're going to see hello.
00:57
But because French is selected and if I type Bonjour.
01:01
Now, if Shopify recognizes them to be in the French market, or their translation that they've selected is French, they will see this components field as Bonjour.
