Hidden products Preview

In checkout components, you can power recommendations shown to customers in checkout in a number of different ways, such as manually selecting them yourself, sourcing them from a collection using Shopify's AI, or integrating with a third party.

But one of the most commonly requested features was okay, right now I can select a single product or a group of products by name to not appear in recommendations.

But why can't I just select a type?

Or what if a product has got a tag that I don't want to show in a recommendation?

Or perhaps it's a vendor?

And with much excitement we built it.

So let's dive in and take a look at it.

If you use checkout components a lot, you likely would have spotted a few different updates on the screen right now.

But we're going to focus on hidden products now.

Hidden products says configure.

Once you click configure, you'll see that there's a bunch of different inputs that you can interact with.

You can still manually select products that you don't want to show on recommendations.

So let's get rid of selling plan skiwax.

And we can also say, okay, if a recommendation that comes back from our collection or AI or an integration contains any of these tags, let's not show it.

So let's decide we're not going to show accessories and you know what gift cards, we don't want to show those two.

And let's not show snowboard vendor.

So now we've selected a specific product.

We're saying to our component, if any of the products come back from the collection or our AI, integration, if the product has this product tag, we're not going to show that.

If it's a product type of gift card, we're not going to recommend that.

And if the product vendor is snowboard vendor, we're not going to show that product either.
