Color Scheme Import Issue with Buttons

Color Scheme Import Issue with Buttons

Brad Pouncey

The user is experiencing an issue where color schemes imported from a style guide are not applying correctly to buttons within a new website template. While text and background colors update, the buttons do not reflect the alternate styles as expected, requiring manual class additions. The user is seeking clarification on whether this is an import error, a template issue, or a limitation of the current workflow.

Hey Matt, just curious your thoughts on this.

00:03

So this is the.

00:04

A new site that I utilized our template with, so I've imported the style guide.

00:11

All of that came through beautifully the way that we kind of worked it last week.

00:16

so style guide is here.

00:19

Color schemes are all imported and everything.

00:23

But what I'm curious about is why this particular piece of the color scheme classes aren't working.

00:28

Working.

00:28

So if I go into the nav bar, for instance, and I want this to be color scheme 2, and I add color scheme 2 to it, it's updating, but it's not updating.

00:39

So like, I would, I would anticipate that these buttons would change in accordance with the color scheme.

00:46

So like, if I look at how it looks when I utilize this color scheme in the style guide builder, we've got the alternate versions of the buttons versus in webflow, when I add the color scheme, the, you know, the alternate, version of the buttons are not coming through.

01:03

Like I would have to add, is alternate.

01:09

If that maybe.

01:10

Does that even exist?

01:15

Maybe not all the style guides coming through.

01:17

Sorry, wasn't expecting that.

01:20

It was working in other sites where we just had to add is alternate.

01:25

Okay, so it's alternate and small.

01:34

So to come through is alternate is small to get it, you know, the right color.

01:38

And I would imagine you have the same thing with this one.

01:41

so just curious if I'm not doing something right on the import or if the template itself needs to be updated.

01:49

like maybe a previous class or something, on the template needs to not be there in order for it to come through and have us be able to kind of like seamlessly add the color schemes.

01:59

Like for the Hero, for instance, if I add color scheme 2, same thing, text works great, background color, all that type of stuff.

02:06

But the buttons specifically are not updating to those alternate versions.

02:09

So just curious your thoughts if I'm doing something wrong or if this is maybe just a limitation of how we're working things with this whole template site.
