Automate Your Spotify Liked Songs by Month 🎵

Hey.

So I'm very excited to share with you this automation that I created specifically for Spotify users who have way too many songs that you've all favorited and you want to have a way to go back and listen to songs that you've saved over time.

Now, here's the problem, right?

I have been a Spotify user since 2014 and I listen to a lot of music.

I'm constantly listening to music and I'm pretty diligent about liking the song, so I can come back to them later.

Now here's the problem.

I have almost 4,500 songs that I've liked over the span of my Spotify, subscription, 273 hours.

I'm on desktop right now, so it's easier to navigate this so I can click shuffle and it'll play this relatively well.

But if you're on, mobile, like having to scroll down, what's gonna happen is these songs just won't render properly.

And in my experience, it skips and then you have no control over.

It looks something like this.

And then you end up on the very first song that you've ever liked.

Now I have again, almost 4,500 songs.

I'm, usually listening to music on the go on my phone and I want to be able to say, like, December 2025, what did I like?

Then let me just go ahead and play that set of liked songs.

So I originally built this automation inside of Hermes, but I'm going to show you what I did.

I now have the ability to look at all of my songs month by month.

This is happening for me automatically.

So if I go into one of my light playlists, Hermes or really any AI coding agent is going to run a script script on the first of every single month and it's going to pull all of the songs that I've liked for the prior month.

So right now it's May 28, 2026.

In three days, June 1, it's going to run the automation.

It's going to grab everything that I've liked from the month of May, create me a new playlist called TAMS favorites 2026 05.

And then it's also going to have a description automatically generated as well.

one.

This one's the December one.

Life Songs.

54 tracks, 3 hours and 35 minutes in total.

Here are the top genres.

Melodic house, progressive house, melodic techno.

And here are the top artists for that particular month.

And you can make this private, you can make this public.

Either way.

I originally wanted to make these private, but they're public so they are out there.

So what I created for you so that you can create this automation on your own with agents with agents like Hermes, openclaw, you can create this with Claude code or even codecs and it's just a script that runs on a automation, either launched if you're on Mac os, Cron, job, something similar.

It just runs automatically on the first.

Everything is in this GitHub repo for you.

All you need to do is take this URL, copy it, drop it into whatever agent you're running and have it install it.

There's an agent empty file.

It's going to walk your agent through exactly what it needs to do to help you install this automation on your machine.

So I have found a lot of joy in going back and listening to some music I've been liking the last few years.
