# Mirror (or flip) your camera

> How to mirror or flip your camera layer horizontally after recording, using Tella's mirror setting.

## Using the mirror feature in Tella to flip your camera recording

Tella's mirror feature allows you to flip your camera layer horizontally in your video. This can be particularly handy if, after recording, you decide you'd prefer to be facing the opposite direction.

## Quick shortcut

Right-click the webcam layer directly on the canvas and choose **Flip horizontally** — the flip applies immediately without opening any panel.

## Flip your camera from a sidebar

1. Open your video in the Tella editor.
2. Select the clip where you want to flip the camera layer.
3. Click **Adjust** in the sidebar.
4. Toggle **Mirror camera** on.

You can also change the same setting while working in either of these places:

* Open **Layout**, select **Customize layout**, and use **Mirror camera** in the camera controls.
* Open the camera crop tool and use **Mirror camera** below the preview.

The camera flips immediately, and every place shows the current setting.

## Applying the mirror effect to multiple clips

**Per clip basis**: The mirror effect is applied on a per-clip basis. If your video has multiple clips and you want the camera layer flipped in all of them, you'll need to repeat the process for each clip:

1. Navigate to the next clip.

2. Repeat the steps above.

You can also click **Apply to all clips** to mirror the camera across your entire video at once.

## Tips and considerations

* **Consistency**: Ensure that you apply the mirror effect to all relevant clips to maintain visual consistency throughout your video.

* **Visual elements**: Be cautious if your camera layer includes text or logos, as flipping the image will also mirror these elements and may render them unreadable.

* **Reverting the effect**: If you decide to revert the flip, simply toggle **Mirror camera** off to return to the original orientation.

By using Tella's mirror feature, you have the flexibility to adjust the orientation of your camera layer even after recording, helping you achieve the desired visual effect without the need to re-record your footage.
